Lag Is Terrible

Could you please help with the issue of lag, at least let us know what is going on. It is impossible to play the game as is. I checked my speed and it is great with internet. Cleared cache and even dropped to lower setting for display. It appears to be the servers. All I need is an answer so I know someone is working on this. This is the 3rd day straight now with this problem and I noticed on chat that others are having the same issue.

So bad sometimes takes up to 2 minutes to even connect

i have been having the same problem i cant log in and when i do the lag is so bad a lk will kill me

 

It has been going on with me still now. I can't even play. Everything was going fine up to 3 or 4 days ago. I did a speed test for the internet download and upload and they are fantastic. Changed and lowered video settings and other things but nothing has helped improve the lag.

 

I cant even get to maps now. back page is fine. 4 days now

But you know what really makes me laugh is DO always blames it on your server or computer. Not knowing that everyone in my house can play just fine, except me, on a brand new computer. Can play any other game just fine except this one!!!guess what DO it's YOU!!!maybe it's time for you to clean your cache!!!!

 

I do apologize in the delayed response to this as we are short handed and our moderators are volunteers we may not be available at all times. We do try to answer all posts in a timely manner. Can you please tell me what servers this is happening on for you so that we can look further into this.

By the way I got up this morning and no lag. There is something happening. I will respond again if the lag starts in the afternoon

 

Maybe Dark Orbit put another quarter in the server.

yep at 2:30 PM central time lag is getting terrible again. Again American East Server. What is causing it to be good early morning, 6:00 am, then go crazy at 2:30 PM. Everyone that I have talked with this morning had same issue at same time. I remember they used to restart systems early in morning. Please listen and solve this lag issue.

ya i was playing for a bit but now at 9 16 it is real bad

 

Not just USA servers, GB1 is also awful.
Done all the usual stuff, clear cach etc.
I find IE & Chrome terrible recently but Firefox ok ??

 

Well mine has cleared up now for the 3rd day straight but no notification as to what the problem was. Has anyone else heard what was causing it? Keep everyone informed please.

 

this happened to me yesterday and today backpage loading slow and no internet connection when it fully loaded the game not even start, i use windows 8, i think this game not compatible with windows 8

 

I use windows 8 also, now the game is working 4th day straight and only a couple small occurances of lag. It is not compatibility. It has to be something that is tying all together. Internet provider, Dark Orbit etc. I have already discussed with others and they do not have the same internet provider so in my humble opinion it is not that. I know a long time ago DO used to reboot the system (server) every morning and I think that may be an issue.

 

I have found some interesting info! I downloaded a ext called disconnect me that tracks where all you info is going on each site you visit. And low and behold as soon as i log into dark orbit servers. This ext goes nuts. It shows a constant flow double click ad services. Facebook kept a very fast count of 64920 request per min. And a hand full of other sites hosted by google like google fonts, google analytics, Google host hub and more.

What am i getting at here? Well why is the back page sending all these requests out. Could this be an issue with the lag? Lets say there are 500 players online to main server 500 x 64920= 32460000 requests a min. Thats what the server is sending out trying to share our info. Not to add the data that is coming and going for normal game play. Could the be slowing the server down? I dont see why it couldnt be. If you think what im saying is wrong check for yourself. Find a good app or ext that will show you your communication with the server your connected and its communication with everything else. The ext i used was disconnect me. I have tested this on closed servers and it told me the true tale of the tape!
