Lazy PET

Hi,
White Pepper suggested I make a forum post regarding my lazy / shy PET for possible investigation by support.

My PET seems to spend most of his time sat right next to me despite having auto looter selected and currently 7 level 3 radars installed. Many times I have to lead him by the hand right upto a bonus box and even then, he doesn't always pick them up.
Just now, I was sat in 3-5 shooting a big lord, I could see a bonus box to my right, two more to my left and a football box. My pet was in auto looter mode, he had loads of fuel radars on both configs, but he sat there watching me working away.

Occasionally he does go off on his own and will venture as far as a third of the way across the screen and happily collects away.

Any ideas on how to handle a lazy PET?

I can understand your frustration with this situation, however the problem you are having is experience.

1. You PET is low level and does not have the experience it needs to venture very far from a certain area... It kinda like a little kid, he is a bit afraid of getting out of his parents site.

I do realize that you have a level 3 Looter, and several level 3 Radar protocols, But the without the experience of the PET it will stay close to your ship.

What I can tell you from personal experience, is that I have a level 15 PET I have all the slots open for the protocols...I use 2 radars and the rest are level 3 salvage protocols. I get a better return even if the PET ventures closer to me, the return is better.

Are you serious? The PET level is supposed to influence its intelligence/lazyness? Is this an official statement from someone who was involved in the PET "AI"?
Mine is level 15 too, and it still behaves exactly like omg-olycat describes it.

 

me too i have problems sometimes with my pet.. my pet is level15 and sometimes when i select kami it wont work and my pet will just continue shooting :///

 

it always sit next to you , you need to lead him
if that pet will see box in his are he will collect that box , so dont depend if "almost" next to u is box

but if they ill remove that / or they ill fix that bug i could be happy

Let me start by saying, I am a volunteer member of the Dark Orbit Team, I am in no way involved in creating how the PET works, I am here to offer assistance with issues in the game and transmit needed information back to the developers to assist them inresolving in game issues.

Please understand, when using the PET on AutoLooter, you yourself must be either activily moving within the game or a boxes will need to appear within the basic screen area before the PET will venture out to go and collect them. The Auto looter does not function the same way that the resource collector work. Resources collect at a farther range and more constant. Whereas the Auto Loot will not go and clear a map while you are sitting on a Clan Battle station or Portal.

The use of the radar protocols for looter is not going to make a large difference in how far your PET ventures. The best use for the Radar Protocol is the Enemy locator and resource collector.

Players who are still experiencing an issue with the PET are asked to do the following things,

1. Please make sure that you have the Auto Looter installed on both configurations
2. Please check your cargo hold. As the PET will not function properly with a full cargo.
3. Attempt to use the PET in 2 or more browsers to see if your outcome is different.
4. If continued issues reamin, please post back including the following information

• Ship user name
• Server
• User ID

The PET does what you do. If you collect the PET will collect, but if you start shooting an NPC it will stop collectin' tru dat. So, I stopped shootin' the NPCs and just straight up collect till this soccer bonus box event is over. Then go back to having the PET help you shoot NPCs.

 

BIGGEST PART ASTRAEA SAID :

The auto-loot function will not work properly if your cargo load is full....This is so true. I have seen my pet sit in a cloud of boxes doing nothing , then I refine or sell some cargo and BAM ! The pet starts moving on its own grabbing the boxes, without me even moving again, just keep cargo less than full, cheers .

 

you need to select passive mode and then looter again. sometimes it happens because of lag.
