Lightning skill question

I have one question.
Since pet speed is based off ship speed, does the lightning boost also make the pet faster? Even if you use the boost and don't move your ship? Well I guess that's 2 questions (I'm thinking space-ball here).

 

Thought someone just asked this.. Odd. But yes it does

Hmm, thanks for that tip, I'll be using that in spaceball now.
-Although, it's kind of a waste if you don't like getting popped in Spaceball, regardless of the "no damage to drones" deal

 

Just have a slowdown mine ready for the crowd, and an ice rocket for the one who gets by . If a Spearhead dares to keep following you far off.........kill them !

Yes it works great in SB - its cool seeing the pet zoom to a box, but even with a low ping rate (mine is 12) and uber connection, those boxes seem to disappear as fast as they appear at times. Never fast enough (should name my pet that) lol - have fun
