LoW gate

Has anyone noticed the npcs dont run now you need kami for low gate otherwise your toast or is it just me or have they changed it because before the first update the npcs used to run etc.

Anyone done low gate in last 2 days please let me know and mods please let us know if low gate has been changed or is it a bug?

Yeah Borg, I tried one earlier solo and was caught out by the change, also the NPCs now swarm towards you even if you out of their range, whereas before they would congregate in centre of map allowing you to pick them up 1 by 1.

I too would like to know if this is a bug or a permanent change.

 

what do you mean by run, when they run at low hp?

 

Yeah think thats what he mean cause when u normally shot them and they are low hp they run but now they dont they just keep attacking u until ur poped or they are.

 

Pretty nice update to it makes it more fun hope it stays this way

 

BORG1 - I can confirm that this is a change to the behaviour of NPCs in the gate, not a glitch.

It was done to prevent a situation where players were completing the Gate, but essentially leaving most of the NPCs sitting around and still claiming the full reward. I agree that it does make the Gate harder (especially when attempted solo), however it is designed as a Group Gate, so hopefully it will encourage players to co-operate more often and attempt it together.

There is no max reward unless U shoot all the npcs.

 

They weren't claiming the full reward, they were getting the reward for the npc they killed, namely the falcon. NPCs should still run when they are low hp, just like they do in the other gates.

Also to say it was designed as a group gate is fair enough but then cubes were designed as requiring a group to kill them, the game has moved on a long way since these things were brought in so what's next?

We need more cubes, and/or boss and uber cubes. A good relationship is always give and take. BP needs to learn how to give back to the players a bit more if they want the relationship between the company and the players to improve.

The strength of an individual player is so much greater than when the group gate was added to the game. Its name clearly shows the intent of that gate.

Slightly off topic, but reiterating why it is a good move to make the group gate harder;

the cube was not described as a group npc.

Back in 2009 I was 2 player cubing regularly with any other ship no matter how weak they were. They would just need to take damage from the cube until it stopped shooting me.
I rarely got final red lock but could 2 player cubes easily,
to the point if I posted "1 more for moon cube" 10 players would turn up

The main income is from ego driven desire to get the higher ranks;
if there was unlimited access to high rewarding npcs or any other method of making massive uri then the ego driven WW would not need to spend much to get their fix.

The Cube "grave yard" is a perfect example, when it was introduced it was a panic if lucky pick up a few k white.
Then with the massive increase in a ships damage and shield, players were actively aiming to get in it, so they could pop all the prots and cube for massive rewards.

 

dont blame me and it was not full reward it was just the reward 4 the falcon 5k uri for 8mins work post a vid and everything lol

 

5k - Not bad 4 8 min. of easy peasy. 25k an hour nice!
