  1. new updates 2day and now alot of gb2 are having lag problems and from 300MB to well over 500MB this needs fixing or this game will be unplayable

  2. indeed RAM usage levels have sky rocketed recently.

This could also (regrettably) be down to Flash Player programming and recent updates to browsers of which are in use by the players of DarkOrbit.

Programmers are always modifying their code to ensure stability and levels of user satisfaction.

As for firefox users, if you search google for about:config tweaks to improve firefox performance, it may be worth taking a look.

As for Chrome users, alot of Command Line Switches are available to disable or enable certain features built within the programming of Chrome itself.

NOTE: The tweaks found are intended as guides and are more preferable to be made by experience users.

  3. Might not be your answer but close back page. D/L ccleaner to clean temp and cookies and adjust your flash setting to low. Also right click on map select settings and move the bar to unlimited. Hope this helps ya out. Also refresh you map page every 30 min

  4. chrome has always has min setting on nothing installed that shouldn't be and i cleaned my system flash and java files 2 yea it dose drop but after 10min of play it jumps back upto over 500MB again

  5. I have noted myself that changing Flash Player detail settings to low has no effect over the actually graphics and objects which are shown in the game itself, the most it does is turn some text and fonts to low detail (IE: Top Screen Message, the large MHH announcements for example, and ship/NPC names).

  6. What helped me was after many years of lagg and high usage was my sata hdd failing so for the first time ever I got a "solid state drive" fitted it this weekend, its like going from a donkey to a race horse. I get stable 40/65fps the ram usage that goes up but not as much as it did.
You can get them cheap from ebay ocz seems to be the best

  7. an SSD will definitly make a massive difference, as its basically constructed by RAM, and everyone knows reading and writing from and to RAM is faster than a HDD running on a SATA or IDE interface.

Have to work on getting an SSD myself.

  8. I am having problems with this aswell just started today, in amongst alot of npcs or ships, my ship is disappearing and reappearing all the time, i did just update flash player today so it's done somthing my comp but idk

I have 2 agility 3 SSD running in a raid and I am also getting this lag for last 2 days. It actually started happening before the update was put in place with the new contact list.

I can understand your frustration with this situation,

Many have offered ideas as to help assist the community during this time.
I will do the same, as I was experiencing high Memory usage and low frame rates until I changed browsers.

    Please look at the http://nightly.mozilla.org/
This is the latest Beta browser from Mozilla. I went from 750 Mem to 340. I used the standard version.

I hope that this helps to ease some of your issues.
    Have a lovely day
