Mini map stops working

OK bear with me as I'm not exactly sure how this glitch is triggered but it goes something like this :

When on a B map, you can't jump when being attacked, we all know this, but if you hit the "J" button ( and don't jump obviously) you can now only escape (move) by clicking on the space map, the mini map refuses to recognize a click on it....This makes it hard to fly away in a straight line and use hot keys at the same time...

PS : this has been going on for 6 months now, I've just gotten fed up enough to articulate the problem. If anyone has experienced this, or has some work around, I would love to hear it.

 

We are sorry that the lag is causing such an issue with the Mini map. After further testing last night, I have found the if you click on the Mini Map anywhere... Even up by the words it will bring the map up.

Note: If you click in the highlighted area next to the words, it will not move your ship, merely open the map.

Thank you Astraea, but I don't think you understood what I was saying. Its not a lag issue at all....

After I try to jump , (and don't jump because I'm being shot at), the entire minimap does not respond to clicks....I can open and close the hex tab and minimize the window for it, but no clicks anywhere ON THE MAP make my ship move. I have to point and click manually on the space screen.

The mini map stops working altogether. ( other than being able to click the hex tab to open or close it, it wont recognize a click on it, I can't move my ship with the mini map)

I would like to add, this is a totally separate issue from the mini map taking a while to reload after a port jump. I think you may have thought I was taking about that, which is a different issue...thanks again.

 

Just wanted to make sure that this mini map issue is being looked at, as this glitch is more than just an annoyance, its one that can get you popped, kinda important if you ask me in a pvp game ..Plz and thank you again.

 

I know we are not supposed to spam our own threads...but I've watched this thread get bumped down the list, now I find it on page two....this is a serious glitch and needs attention, this thread needs to be seen. ..bump bump bump !

 

Please know that this has been passed on and further investigation into this matter is being done.

as for the easy fix: click on the top portion of the open mini map next to the words. I have tried it several times with great success.

they are going to always think u are talking about the mini - map not loading lmao... He is talking about a different issue all together ... yea i've had the problem Pie .. during spaceball i have attacked ppl then ran from the group only to find out when i click the mini-map i don't go anywhere...I can c the minimap and my position on it ... it just dosen't work when u click on it.. makes it rly hard to get away.

 

Actually, the mini map takes too looooooooong to load, so there is nothing to click or know where you are coordinates wise.

 

I have experienced this issue as well, I find that if I can manage to click the zoom in/zoom out button that operates as a temporary fix. It's not ideal if you are being chased by enemies however.

i did find Astraea's idea to work great just click a few times on the lettering on mini map and bam shows right up. So lets hope this fix comes soon. But i think the original post has nothing to do with mini map lag. I think something is causing lag on op side which makes it look as if the auto pilot function of mini map is not working. Has op cleaned the junk up in pc as cookies old flash and what not? Also try a ping test to see if you might be losing due to your IS provider. As this seem to be only something you are getting. And is easily being confused with the mini map lag we all are getting.
I would also say go to flash site and clean old flash data along with the stored stuff on pc. Also might try updating flash player if not running auto update.

Can you let us know more on the actions you have taken so far so we know what to cancel out as a fix for your issue?

THE MINI MAP LOADS FINE.....NO LAG AT ALL ...ITS THERE....BUT IT DOESN'T WORK ...... CLICKING ON MAP DOES NOTHING..... plz try to understand what I am saying.....

This problem has been happening for over six months..has nothing to do with lag or cookies or anything user side...It is a legitimate glitch in the game and needs to be fixed ( and understood properly still by some ).

Sorry for the misunderstanding on this issue, however with the current mini map problem we are investigating the mini map in game issues as a whole.

The problem that you mentioned, not being able to click on the mini map to move in game. We have found that this is a usually caused by a flash player that needs to be updated, as well as the flash storage data is overloaded. So I might suggest that you clear the flash and see if you need a update.

This problem is still happening.
To say it again....when in a b-map and being attacked, If you hit the "j" button to jump port, you obviously won't jump...but after this moment...clicking on the mini map does nothing....To be clear...I AM able to move the mini map...re-size it, minimize it....heck I can do everything BUT click on it to move....Plz Plz PLz look into this.
