Multi-Company Clans - What to do?

    If u kill a ship from same company war, it only gives u hon/exp, it doesnt count for ur ships kills ranking.

    still a reason to war your company noobs for some i suspect
     
  3. There should be NO gains from same company kills, WAR should only protect from NEGATIVE HONOR, currently D O rewards strong clans to WAR same Company players.

    Wars and the ability to attack same company player should be removed from the game altogether.

  4. Because the 'mystery' is out and is a major reason things have gotten out of hand with MCC groups on our East 1 server. You cannot 'call out' a mod flying his side ship. You also have to figure out who has 'favored status' with support, the mods and admins. Back in the day if you were in the 'special' group you could get dropped into the cube graveyard, pay a lil cash for items or get access to tools us regular paying players cant have.

    Been going on a long time and players flock to that group because of the special treatment. You can buy ships, sell ships and use applications without DO nailing the accounts. So if you really think anything is going to be done... Well I can say "there will never be another weapon add on to lf4s". Or "Gate spins are totally random"

  6. on my server all 3 generals from the 3 diffrent companies are on sunday in the same clan with cbs , and do hades all day long ...
    go figure how ranks can be changed .. well not this way

    In my biased opinion (as someone who has predominantly been in a solo clan), I find the concept of clans redundant.

    There is nothing physically stopping you from working alongside another player in another clan given most people utilize voice chats. The only benefits I can think of that a clan gives you is the option to tax credits and the option to war which the former is utterly pointless since:
    1. There are heavy restrictions on the amount of credits that can be withdrawn
    2. Credits are in such abundance that it's not a resource people are struggling for

    Clans are simply a label.

    On a side note, I believe wars should be allowed against the individual players (to work around clan-less players) thereby making the other perk pointless too.

    Ironically, the purpose of clans should probably be so players can establish alliances across companies as a "MCC".

    The real issue here is that the current relationship between companies and clans conflict and to remove MCC is a short term fix for what will be a long term issue. If you agree with this statement then I can suggest how we might fix that...

    On the other hand, this thread opens up a debate about newbs (as usual). So, potentially there is a number of things to address... I don't mind new ideas and would like to suggest some- from time to time...

    The bottom line, however, is exactly what the last post said.
    ...Maybe there should be only minute adjustments considering we are making issues out of something that wont go away?

    In a solo clan, benefits are small. But in a larger one...

    CBS boosters are a clan-wide benefit. Ever wonder why so many MCC's put up half a dozen or more bases? The honor and experience boosts work in gates, the damage boost is only for "that map". Yet a base "in your own maps" is easier to defend than a base "in enemy maps", and for an MCC, everything can be "your own map" for some part of their membership.

    When the rare "clan competition" events happen - the winning clans get a clan-wide "reward" of whatever the event offers.

    The side note - excellent! It would keep the vermin from escaping their just desserts when they cause problems or stir up trouble - and it would also let us put a stop to the "solo leechers" who do it just to annoy everybody!
     
  10. There's only one solution to this,if a member of eic joins a clan in say in vru the system automatically transfers there account to that company still having half there honour removed,they'll soon get cheesed of losing there honour without there say so....

    first thing i would do is make a pirate company ,,they would a base in 53 maps but still could not jump out that map with jump cpu they would have to fly out
    2,, when they go to vru, eic,mmo , maps they loose 50% off the honer they would normaly get for killing players and take a 30% shield hit

    3 they only get full ep ,honer and shields in pvp maps 44,43,42,and 41 for ship kills

    4 they would also show a target like being a outlaw instead off rank until they joined a company ae eic ,mmo,vru

    5 give everyone a week ti make there mind up

    6 doing all this would balance the game out so if the pirate guys turn up for events and in company maps that company could all band together and fight them off , or even vru ,mmo,eic that where doing the event could choice to kill the pirates instead off each other or having to swap company

    7 if cross company players want to stay together give them a home and a target sigh ;)

    You really think giving players -50% honor and 30% less shields is a solution? You ever played Darkorbit? 30% shield loss is insane. Then players would team up without a MCC but with 3 different clans. Good solution @]eggy[ . The only solution is without punishment for anyone, so everyone plays under the same conditions.

    And your 6. point is even more useless. Every company should fight each other. I cant follow you at all. If players group together from different companys its the same like a MCC. And thats the problem. Where is the solution then? :confused:

    where is same company giving good reward now? you are funny ;)

    btw: if you change mcc than delete repair at position and at gate, also delete jump cpu. that would help to create companys again ;)

  15. AGREE to this. I did spend thousands of pounds during DO playing times. But not anymore. Last few years playing different games and just coming back to see what is up.

    If this does not change:

    1. New players most likely get bullied out of game. (GAME WILL DIE)
    2. Money Revenues will simply run out. As MCC do not need to spend a lot of Money to be strong. They get all they want anyway. (GAME WILL DIE)

    Want DO to completely dissapear.
    Then DO NOT DO The top 5 points.

  16. IF the 1k Honor is from same company ship then I am saying you should not be getting it, never said it was GOOD REWARD, YOU don't deserve any reward for killing your own COMPANY (WAR or NOT). Killing SAME Company goes against the main design of the game, COMPANY SUPREMACY of the Star System.

    I really have NO problem with the NAPS (these just mean the 2 clans will not attack each other) between companies or the grouping between companies, except when it comes to DOMINATING Special Events, or KILLING SAME Company players. I have been involved in many groups in 4-5 killing Ubers and never had or created any problems when I was grouped with enemy players, we were there for a reason (usually we were killing the same NPC's for quests) and helped each other to complete the missions quicker, even found many enemies that saw I was helping one of theirs and left me alone. But don't let that person be from an MCC the mentality completely changes and if you are not from their CLAN you do not deserve to be in the maps. There are times in the PvP/NPC maps where the only people in the maps are enemies, so why not get some protection from attack by grouping up with them?

    Mcc is needed for this game to work, but server merge + maybe free company swap period can help fix this issue about some clans dominating everything.
     
  18. Dwindling server populations are not the players fault, u need to get more players playing this once great game of yours. Try to think of a way u can make this happen rather than persecuting MCC
     
  19. How do you figure? Do you like playing a game that you can not do anything because some group of UFE MCC want to pop you all the time? It used to be fun you could get FE and hold your own against most of the Bio FE players and knew you were dead if the top 10 happened to be in your map, but we had people who would help us then also. Now you have no one to assist a player being bullied because the really strong all belong to the same clan so they help kill you instead. Thus the players do not stay and thus the populations dwindle.

    IF the MCC did their hunting in the Upper maps or Battle maps leaving the lowers alone then we might rebuild the populations like we once had, even with the imbalance of the UFE vs FE battles. But the attitude of " I want easy ship kills so I am going to hunt in the noob maps" keeps chasing the players away, granted the BUGS/GLITCHES do not help the matter much either.

  20. Remove the MCC, they have been disrupting this game and causing players to stop playing for many years, which is better keep bullies happy ( keep MCC) or maintain a large player base (ban MCC)?
    Also I'd propose no inter company alliances, enemies are enemies, any extra-company alliance is a resistance movement within that company.
    Have an amnesty period for players to choose which company they want to be.
    There'll still be the bullying and hogging of events though by the stronger clans, nature of PvP games, unavoidable.
