My thoughts on darkorbit

Have you ever noticed that we the players cringe when we hear the word UPDATE lol. We are like no no please don't ill just learn to live with whatever you trying to fix!! but any other game say for instance clash of clans, everyone is like an update!! heck yeah we cant wait lol.

Also is this not the most overpriced game you have ever played. a hundred dollars for 330,000 uri during normal hours which gets you squat, a million if you get it at mega which still basically gets you squat. Also because the game is so unbalanced, one guy builds alpha, beta, gamma, only does alpha and can rebuild it for not very much uri or extra energys. Then another guy attempts the same thing and spends the same amount building that one alpha as he did on all 3 gates no matter what he spins the gate by. Why should one player have to spend 10 times as much as another player to get the same things? I mean we would all love to play this game for free but not many people have that kinda time and don't want to play till there 6 feet under.

So here is an idea, for people who are gonna spend money. Make items cheaper to buy or make it where you get more uri for what you spend. That might also give people who don't want to spend money a chance to. Its kinda of business 101 the more people who can afford it the more money you will make in the long run and the more customers you will have. Its like selling cars id rather sell 100 cars a month cheaper than be stuck with a hundred overpriced ones on the lot that no one can afford you know. Better to be getting a little something from everyone than nothing at all.

If a player losses uri due to the game itself having a issue, give them there uri back. Hey it only makes since right. I mean if you give it back to me im just gonna put it back in the game and buy more. But if you don't, chances are im not gonna spend anymore with you. Also i bet people wouldn't have to resort to lagging out the century falcon to get there uri back you know what i mean.

Finally if the game is out of DO control and all the customers are unhappy then maybe you should think about selling the business to someone who can fix it before you loose the chance to make a profit off of it lol.

Now i like the game and the players, i look forward to it everyday. But im on the verge of becoming a non spender. as in no more premium, no more rebate, no more doubler. no more mega happy hour. unless the game prices become more reasonable and i have no problem with that because i have plenty of x2 and x3 and enough credits to last me for over a year or two even if i don't accumulate any more and im sure im not the only one.

I dont like all this negativity ive been dishing out, i said in an earlier post i was looking forward to playing again. I could have turned a blind eye to the lag, the high prices and incompetence, but whatever they are up to they have started creeping into my actual game play and altering things that after i purchased, they change.

I cant ignore it, not when they drastically change my game to the point it has a negative impact. I can only send a message to support asking them for my money back.

My honest opinion on DO? They get their money too easy. Gunstar what server do you play? Im US3 East, ive got a feeling that after more updates we should join forces so that when they take away the game sound effects i'll do the laser noise *pew pew* and you do the wooshing noise from the engines *brrrrrrrrrr* and then when we get our ship graphics replaced with pixelated kelloggs cereal boxes and our lf3 & lf4 have been updated to bits of used dental floss hanging off the sides we will together pop a streuner in about 8 years.

Cheaper game = more customers = more people spending = more profit = hiring more or better people to fix game issues the first time. Dealerships have a FFV score its called fix first visit. If DO was a dealership they would have to buy back all the accounts and be out of business based on there score

Yeah Gun all that makes good business sense to a regular business person. But if your logic is flawed by greed, none of this
makes much sense. It's pretty sad situation. Like someone said in an other post, Great concept but very very poor execution.

DO's is tryin not to make the whales (big spender) mad. They belive and the WW will quit if the game items are lower in price or uri is increased. What they fail to see is yes a few idiots will cry but most of the WW will be happy to see a full server that is getting its balance back. I play East 3 as well and right now Eic and Vru is taking it over and my clan basically said screw DO it is not worth the time to get bullies by 20 v 6. Why spend time and money on that.

1. thing is get rid of cross company allies and naps.
2. make the event geared to company loyalty. Like scormageddon
3. lower the uri cost or increase the amount after purchase.
4. loose the chance aspet of the game. up grades should be a cost not a chance.
5. loose the booty boxes and put everything in the shop for uri, money, or credits. but make it so it can be bought and not found or won.
6. work on all the bugs, fix the game.

 

I think this is how you get rid of those 20v6, why not make it where everyone can afford it. That way you have more people with better ships, that means better competition and more of it. A PVP game where pilot skill determines the outcome and not who can afford the better ship. Yeah that's just a crazy idea lol. I mean if you havent noticed everyone in vru and eic are the big spenders the guys who can afford to throw down the big dollars on a regular basis. you even that across the board and i bet you the competition and the ability to retain players would get better.

 

Nope. All is good. If prices are too low and chances are too big then everybody can have anything. Maybe just a bit cheaper, but not too much would be great. And all that after all cheaters disappear, ok ?

 

I mean this is not like we are comparing gold to the amount of dollars printed each day in the u.s lol
If that were the case you would not be able to pick up free uri everyday from boxes . uri is just a programmable number. If a player could get a million uri for say 25$ at anytime he could have a ship built relatively cheaper and quicker and be competing faster because you're gonna do the free stuff to as well.

Its not like there gonna hold on to it and never by more. I can blow through a million uri in 20 minutes just on boosters and ammo. If ten people can by $100 worth of uri on mega thats a $1,000. but say 50 people can by 25$ worth and get same amount that is 1,250 that is 250 dollars more you just made now multiply that by all the people playing the game and now add in the people who now could afford it, I don't know about you all but i don't think as hard about spending $25 as i do a $100

 

Make the game affordable is the right thing to fix the game, but will take courage that Big Point does not have. BP will have to hope that a broader paying base due to lower prices will increase incoming money. As I do agree this is the way to go forward, BP will not risk relying on the community to come back to the game and spend money. I can guanatee if the game was more reasonable cost my clan would all come back and play West and East 3.

20v6 battle is due to the total mismanagement of the game. If BP was creating policies that deterred cross company alliances the players would go back to fighting each other. I honestly like a good group battle, but it is not fun overpowering the same players everyday to the point that they give up. If these players find it fun then they have other issues, I believe the clan leaders that are that are making these allies need to stop and reflect on what is going on around them and realize that the short term gain of popping the few players left is hurting their fun in the long term. Holding a base in MMO using EIC and VRU is great if they get to actually fight and have a risk of losing, but overpowering MMO with 2 companies then continuing to do so to the point that MMO quits is stupid. How is that fun... When is it enough??

So we all know BP will not lower the cost. We also know BP will not fit any policies to the game. This means it is up to the players to fix their game, and if the players are not willing to honestly look at what is going on and play the game as it was intended (3 separate companies) then the game is done.

 

Scratch everything i said on this subject gunstar. You are an afk palla popper, didnt think you were at that level, i wont be associated with players that do this.

Not my fault lol darkorbits fault, for making ship killin quest in 5-3 besides i looked in my logs i killed no one called happy turnip today.

 

My IGN isnt HappyTurnip, your log will show at this time who you popped whilst he was afk in 5-3.

its a

pvp game ,and a pvp map u can get killed in all other maps when u collect boxes ,why would it be any different in that map ?

 

Once upon a time Everybody had a chance to have every thing Sorry Neo but your line of thinking is the reason the game is in such a
sad state. With everyone pretty much even, thats were the true skill in setting up configs and fighting shine through. The more leveled the playing field the more people stay to play, the game would be much better off. Granted over the last few months DO have done some
things in this area but its not enough. Bottom line we need better boxes, better npc payouts, better newb protection, 50% off uri deals,
better chances for UFE equipment and more 33 cent shared boosters.
