New banking system

    I was thinking of having a banking system for credits and (maybe?) uridium. Maybe it could be like a real bank where the credit card would be a special pin # unique to each player and you can deposit and withdraw creds as you like. (anyone have any idea how to put some kind of limit as to the amount of creds someone could deposit and/or withdraw? Or even if it is needed?)

    And for uridium (if there is one), there would be a set % of uridium deducted every time you withdraw uridium (not that high).

    Also, just for suggestion, there could be some kind of pointing and reward system for using your pin each time like what some banks do and you can earn the points for items. (Don't know what. anyone have ideas?) I know that most of you would say that DO would never accept this point and reward system because *ahm* they are too concerned with the profits they get for people buying uridium for them to even think of working with this idea, but I'm just trying.

    Also to add, no flaming comments about this idea, just some "below-nasty" criticism because I don't take flames that well. I would allow arguments a little off-topic that aren't focused on being a noob and trying to get this idea across because I feel like it would benefit only me (it won't, trust me)

    I support this idea, but the only reason we should have it is if it has some kind of interest, so is that what you mean?

    I think that would be acceptable, if this is gonna be like a real bank. Since I don't understand interest THAT much, I don't really know how it works.
     
  4. I have suggested an Idea similar to this one also, though mine was primarily focusing on depositing and withdrawing uri than credits. Anyway an Idea I can relate too so +1 from me, only thing though is that the withdrawing credits doesn't really interest me but storing uri would be nice!

    Let me demonstrate how interest works, because there are probably other people that don't know either.

    You start off with 10,000 Uridium.
    You bank it.
    The bank offers a 1% interest per day. Well, what does this mean?
    Every day, your Uridium gets multiplied by .01, and the result is added to the storage of Uridium. (So it increases by 1 out of 100 every day.)
    1% (percent) of 10,000 Uridium is 100. (Multiply 10,000 by .01)
    So the first day, you add 100 Uridium to your account. Now you have 10100 Uri.
    Now the next day, 1% of 10,100 (which is 101) is added to the total uridium.
    So in two days you end up with 10,201.

    So basically it just adds more uri to your account every day.

    Not sure about the interest on uridium part, but everything else looks good. I would say it should only be for clans and go one step further and allow a clan vault as part of this system as well.

    The vault would have a limited number of slots to start with, but the clan leader could buy extra space with uridium if they wanted. It would basically be able to hold any item that shows in the hanger with the exception of uber equipment (like elite drone designs, LF-4, drone formations, special tech, etc). It would allow you to help outfit new members with a little of the spare equipment/ammo that you have lying around in the hangar or you could drop some ore in there for members to share (no palladium).

    You could possibly tie this into CBS with a "vault" module I guess, so only clans with battle stations get access to this bank/vault system (a little more incentive to have a base), but I'm not sure about that really... it might make it too inaccessible or expensive for the average clan.

    Though I like the vault idea, I highly doubt the CBS vault idea would work. A clan has to be strong to be able to defend the CBS, so most clans would have their CBS destroyed before they even got to try the system.

    About the "buying extra slots with uridum" thing, it could be an incorporation of my banking and your vault ideas. So, the regular banking (with interest) could save up uri, and than members could deposit uri into a special uri bank in the clan (doesn't withdraw uri from each member each day, like the cred bank) so uri would continually grow and leaders could buy slots for the vault.

    Most of the games out there have a secondary password to unlock inventories, in-game cash vaults etc,. to avoid being hacked to some extent. So why not DO implement this aswell?​
     
  14. because almost all of those games that use secondary pass words are downloaded games rather then browser games, they also use either there own anti hack programs or a third party version.

    I think I must have missed something here. I dont understand who the bank is for. Is it deposited by clan members for the clan to dish out to other clan members ?

    The banking system I said was for players, similar to the clan bank, but with the ability to deposit uridium and leave it there with interest (Sociopath's idea).
     
  17. Ah OK, yeah seems like a good idea to me. As I understand it the stations are built with individual players items, this banking system would allow for clan to upgrade the different modules
     
  18. And people rarely get hacked on those games unless they give out passwords. Meanwhile, DarkOrbit's security is very limited as far as my knowledge goes.
     
  19. Yeah true but it would be easier to not allow anything brought with uri to be sold, rather then making another pass word for me to remember xD, besides who sells and apis, zues, lf-4 anyhow, all they have to do it make these items were it cant be sold.
     
  20. That too. Should be like only credit items can be sold. Pretty pointless if you have lv 16 drones, Why the hell would you want to sell them? Anything purchased for Uridium even, for that matter. I don't get most of BP's logic. Ha.
