New cube maps

    If BP was to make cubes so strong that a ufe could not solo do u honetly think an outfit of sub FE's could possibly kill a cube?
    Keeping the cubes on the x6 maps and creating a new map with non shared rewards would vastly reduce the amount of fighting over a shared reward. I agree with you that cubes were never meant to be soloed but the game has changed a lot, lf-4s, bio, booster and so on.

    Make it to where cubes have ISH unless 2 people are shooting the cube. Pets won't count.

    Yes, they can.
    Cubes (prots) can shoot one player at a time, so when he needs to back off, he can come back when the cube starts to shoot someone else.
     
  3. Truth truth, and all you need is 1 player with a citadel and one aegis, that way one can use draw fire and the aegis heals em while they shoot. BUt a new map will not prevent weaker ships from coming to shoot them. A cool and diff Idea but i think DO needs more than just a cube map to make it better than it already is. Maybe, just maybe, make it a bit more opportunistic for a player to enter the dreaded cube grave yard ,

    It has been brought to my attention that there is a small flaw in the idea. With less ufes or stronger players in the x6 maps the weaker players would be attack.

    i agree tony. 4 cubes and hundreds of player. we use our good ammo to kill cubes and have stupid noobs come up and shoot it last minute for some uri or just barge in when they feel like it. cubes need to be like every other NPC... locked base. you should only get credit from cubes if u shot first or if your in a group doing it. so many people leave clans just to shoot peoples cubes to make them mad. not to seem racist. but on USA east 1 its mainly foreigners that do it.

  7. Sounds like a good idea, loads of wars start over people jumping cubes so new maps would be nice!

    1 putting them on new maps would not keep them from coming back when other players are hogging the cubes on the new map
    2 while yes there is a problem with the redefine of the word leech and yes I mean redefine because that is what has been done. The problem is actually the cool down time of the cube. If you have to wait 5 minutes or whatever the cooldown is that ufe doesn't wanna have someone take his uri and then have to wait that much longer for the next cube to come up. If the cool down was for example 2 minutes it wouldn't matter if a newb took a little uri because they could just go right on to the next cube. Now you all know that reducing the cooldown time wouldn't help right now because 1 darkorbit would never give out that much free uri but 2 there is still a problem of the growing number of people who can solo a cube. I should know I am one of them.
    3 I think the new map could work if the levels are reworked with the experience point system, possibly including honor amount, restricting higher level players from killing cubes on x-6, map would help push that idea. The reason I say this is because the balance between level and strength is out of alignment. Why do you think it seems like newbs need more help!?!? The problem isn't just that they are weak but that they are being pushed to get missions done and get leveled up fast so they can get any uri worth getting. This is the real problem. I mean honestly start as a newb and see how fast you level doing missions oh and how about x-1s that don't get used that much. They gave us a map you can't be killed on and now it's basically useless and it's not gonna be enough to raise the experience points levels because have you ever tried to shoot npcs in lowers all day? You get shot up by ufes all the time. I know getting a little off topic but I am trying to drive home a way that putting cubes on a new map could work, not to mention the level/strength balance problem that I see that is feeding this problem.

  10. look, although it would be cool for a map like that, it wouldnt solve anything. Folks have been shooting each other off of cubes since before the pets, havocs lf4s etc. It would just be a map for kills. Atleast for me it would lol
     
  11. The way I see it is to boost Cubes Dmg,Hp,Shld,(reward gain?) maybe...or no idk.Really i think every uber NPC should have those traits boosted seeing as half a million hp,1mil shlds, and 25k dmg is about the norm now just my sleep deprived thoughts though.

    .5 mill HP, 1 mill sheilds, 25k dmg for a uber? a UBK has 3.2 mill hp, 2.4 mill sheilds, and does 40k dmg.
