  1. As everyone (including the darkorbit developers know) the game is not as popular as it used to be and its much harder to go from scratch to what would be considered ufe than it used to be, actually its 100x harder.

I'm proposing a new map system for players who make a new account until they hit levelx. The players will be started at Fe and will be able to hunt npc in their x-1 map. The x-2 maps will be for harder npc and hunting enemies (the x-1 maps can only be entered by the company it belongs to). After the player hits that certain level they will no longer get rewards for anything and then get an option to use TA. The player will have every type of ammo available in the game while in this TA area to learn how each works without having to waste their own ammo. When the player gets 10 wins they can then go to the normal maps. They lose all ammo but get 50 million credits 20k uri and keep all of their fe equipment. As well a few lf4 for players who are under level x.

To make everything fair to all the players now everyone will receive a new free hangar with a fully built fe goliath.

Before people start with I didnt get it that easy, they should work for it etc. Just realize new players make the game better for you. They arent UFE and they arent anywhere near it but if you were one of the ones when Fe was UFE just remember UFE now is so much harder to get.

My point is this will get new players in the game who wont be frustrated by not being able to kill npc for crap rewards to only take months to hit fe. These players may quit but so many more would stick around then how many stay now.

  2. Hmm. I like where you are going with this but to be fully FE? I completely disagree. That gives newcomers way to much of an advantage. Now I think they should be given SOME elite equipment but not 8 Iris or 15 lf3s or 10 b02s. They should have to work to get them like the rest of us. Taking into consideration the fact that Ultimate Full Elites exist and a Full Elite Goliath would be lucky to be able to take on a UFE [ultimate full elite] because its damned near impossible they should get greater rewards as a beginner. You just cant give someone a flax and a couple lf2s and send them on there merry way anymore. There just isn't the client-tel anymore.

I think beginning rewards should be better. Sure. 4 or 5 LF3s kick in some B02s and Maybe an Iris or two instead amd a flax because your right. With the reduced amount of people on it is harder to make credits on your own without having to spend real money. Which kinda brings me to my next point and to be honest as someone who has played since 2008 and is STILL a noob, it would be GREAT to see the chat rooms come alive again (like the company-chatroom, newcomers even)
It IS accomplishable. With better offering for players starting out you can increase the loyalty of many people therefor increasing revenue all together and more than likely player satisfaction.

I had an idea of potentially merging USA East 1 2 and 3 but I know there are issues with that idea.

There needs to be better offering to new players. I know beginning players (levels 1 and 2) are given special opportunities to buy things, but in comparison to a mega happy hour it is not worth it. Some of these 'advertisements' for better equipment may have been worth it on the old client. For instances for 99 cents you can get a bunch of AO3 shield generators, a whole bunch of lf2s, etc. The whole advertisment system needs to be revamped to match or be better than what you could potentially get on a Mega Happy hour. (this includes the cost of upgrading equipment)

Not for nothing, people just don't have time to pour there life into this game. They don't have the money, its a free to play game for petes sake, and they work a minimum wage job. They cant afford to throw in 100 dollars a month to this game. So what do they do? They quit before they even begin.

Firstly, make it a Tutorial Server, where when a person FIRST begins the game, they are given an option to be "tutored" for an extended time and it would list the pros and cons of doing that tutorial.

Second, a player should keep half of their ELITE equipment if they have above a low X amount of that equipment. For example, 7 lf3 would be the cutoff. SO if a player has 9 lf3, they would keep 5 (9/2 = 4.5 rounded up to 5). But if they have an amount llower then 7, they would keep all.

  4. Don't like it.

  5. AKA the current noob protection system going on now. If they use it right they can easily become fe and still have protection. That's why forums exist. If they don't read forums, their loss, not really a use for this idea sorry mate. Also it's not even close to hard to become FE anymore. Clan gives noob 300 mil creds or so, bam, they're fe in a few weeks of bidding. Or they solo it with skylab.

  6. Thats a hell of a lot easier said than done

That could work too but i still think they should be at least full fe before entering the maps so they can at least kill whatever aliens they want solo (minus cubes/ubers)

That doesn't really help anything. Are there any reasons why u don't like it, is there anything u do like?

  7. I agree with most of what you said but your sentiment that new players have to much of an advantage seems absurd to me, there is a few starter perks that are somewhat helpful, the quests however send you straight into x-3 and x-4 maps for minimal reward while you get slaughtered by likely UFE's hitting 150-200k or your own company or both. Even starting as a basic FE would not be anywhere comparable to being UFE, it would just be a better stepping stone for when someone starts the game, at the very least a half FE Goli wouldn't hurt.

As for the OP's idea, I like it and some suggestions made to improve it.

  8. Not really at all lol. Been there done it multiple times in all ways available got fe in under a 3 weeks each time

  9. Exactly new players have a hell of a time trying to get to just fe, and thats if they even stick around to get there.
Yes u have done it multiple times but u knew exactly what to do, i highly doubt your first time was only 3weeks.

  10. Actually it was. I joined a great clan on east 3 and they bk'd with me and I had a Goliath and full iris within the week. After that we worked on bo2's and lf-3. And that was when Goliath was going for around 20-30 million so..

i think the idea is ok but i reckon it would be too much messing about for dark orbit to implement. i personally think that a ready built skylab which is full from day 1 would be better, as newb players will have the chance to sell rocks and work on building there ships up at a much faster pace. (instead of waiting weeks to get a full skylab)

  12. Well u just happen to be the 1 in a thousand who gets a clan that helps/ doesnt quit within a week from not being able to progress

  13. At any rate, I can't think of another way to make this idea a way I would support it so, sorry but -1
