FAQ: Expansion – Unstable Modules Restabilize System

    General information

We are happy to present an expansion of our Unstable Modules Restabilize System after having reviewed the feedback that we got from our player community.

We’re aiming to improve the existing system and to give you the possibility to choose in each Restabilization process if you want to reroll the unstable module stats or if you want to keep the ones from before.

We also did a rework of the Hangar overview when it comes to seeing which Unstable Modules can be equipped on your ship. Before, when you managed your ship, you had to hover over all existing unstable modules to see which one can be equipped on your actual ship. With this expansion, only the upgrade modules that are applicable on the focused ship (the one you are managing) will be shown. All other upgrade modules will be darkened.

With the Unstable Module Restabilize System, you’re still able to use Unstable Modules that you’ve collected in your inventory for recycling them into Unstable Shards and use the Unstable Shards to restabilize the stat modifiers of your Unstable Modules.

What’s new about the restabilizing process?
    - The Restabilization of Unstable Modules will be expanded by Salvage
    - We introduce a brand-new resource: Salvage Core

How this works will be explained below.

    Salvage

You can use the Restabilization system to reroll the existing stats of your Unstable Modules. But what if the new stat modifier is not the one that you were wishing for? And the existing one is what you want to keep? Now there’s a solution for it!

After restabilizing, you have the option to perform Salvage: You now have the choice to keep the original stats or to overwrite them with the newly rolled stats.

    There are now 2 possibilities:
    - You do the normal Restabilization process and you proceed like before to stick with the newly rolled stats
    - Or you decide to keep the old stats by choosing Salvage
There’s a new addition of a “Salvage Cost” within the tooltip. If you hover the tooltip, you see what and how many resources you need to do the Salvage and you also see how much of those resources you currently possess. With this information, you can make an informed decision on whether or not you restabilize your module.

IMPORTANT: If you decide to do the Restabilization of your Unstable Module, the costs for it (Unstable Shards) will be deducted! Even if afterwards you choose Salvage and your original stats will be kept!

It is also very important that you check if you have enough Salvage resources BEFORE you select restabilize! Because once the Restabilization result is shown, your resources won’t be updated!

So if you don’t have enough resources, the following happens:
    - You don’t have enough resources for Salvage
    - You decide to restabilize, then you want to salvage but you don’t have enough resources
    - You decide to purchase more resources for a salvage
    - The amount in your Salvage window won’t update
    - You are still unable to salvage the current unstable module

Therefore, you should check if you have enough resources before you start the restabilization process!

As soon as you select “Restabilize”, a new window “Choose Stats” will appear on top of the Assembly Window. At this point, the Restabilization costs (Unstable Shards) are already deducted.

You can now see both possible stats (the original stats and the newly rolled stats) and you can decide which one you want to choose. If you choose the newly rolled stats, there are no further costs and the Unstable Module stats will be overwritten with the newly rerolled ones.

If you select “Previous Stats”, the cost for the Salvage will be deducted from your stock and the Unstable Module stats will be reverted to its original values.

The costs for every Salvage will be:

    - 200x Salvage Core
    - 38x ABR
    - 6x Indoctrine Oil

IMPORTANT: Salvaging will NOT refund the Restabilization costs and Reroll count. It only allows you to retain the original stats!

The Salvage Core drops in every run of Astral Ascension, regardless how far you progress through it. The chances to get them are very high and the drop amount increases with further progress in Astral Ascension.

Here’s the updated reward distribution of Astral Ascension:

Hangar – Unstable Modules Overview in Inventory

We listened to your feedback about the usability of managing the modules that you have in the inventory when you want to equip them on your ship.

Before when you managed your ship, you had to hover over all existing unstable modules to see which one can be equipped on your actual ship. With this expansion, only the upgrade modules that are applicable on the focused ship (the one you are managing) will be shown. All other upgrade modules will be darkened.

Nevertheless, the functionality of the darkened Upgrade Modules will still be the same. They can be sold, they will show the stats and ships upon hover, etc.

We hope to avoid the painful searching and clicking when managing your ship with this update. Now you don’t need to look through all modules anymore to find one that is applicable for your currently equipped ship.

This is how it looks like with the rework:
