agreed this will ruin the game, the honor 1 doesnt seem that bad

 

In my opinion i'm more than welcome when these formations are coming. Just like ring- formation: with this formation, citadel can be much more tankier: it can take more damage than before. This formation gives that buff, what citadel really needs.

X- formation: I can't wait for using leonov with this formation. It will became a beast! But i think 100% damage increase is a little bit too much, maybe bigger hp- reduction or 75% rocket damage. otherwise, it's too strong.

wheel formation: this is a formation what i like alot! 10% speed boost is really cool bonus and it will be awesome to pusat and spearhead ships.

Veteran- formation: if this bonus works with galaxy gate rewards, players have finally a chance to get higher rank.
wave formation: no clear description in this formation. So im not suprised if it gives 50% more xp, if we can also get veteran formation .

dome- formation: this formation actually needs a buff: players can already reach 100% shield absorption with crab formation, bo2 shield generators and shield mechanics in skill tree. But players can then use moth- formation and penetrate enemy shields. would be nice, if we get drone formation, what blocks moth- formation effect. In this case players have to shoot all enemy shields down before reaching targets hitpoints.

And the most discussed formation: drill- formation. I agree that most of the players think that it will destroy the whole game instantly, but in my opinion it wont happen. thanks to Darkomaani's opinion i also started thinking about this formation with a different perspective. what i have readed before in this forum (we need more uridium, faster and easier): drill formation is a new solution to these problems.

In the end there is only one thing what im really worried about: new drone formations prizes. If these are better than normal formations, those are for shure really expensive.

As a free player I can't see the appeal of these new formation as they have no real function in helping the free player kill npcs and stay alive. Citadel with extra shield - excellent - but 50% reduced fire power not exactly a head turner.

 

The game already is harsh on noobs....and now (allegedly) you add tools to make the very strong even stronger. DO must suspect it is circling the drain as far as growth on its legacy servers and is giving up trying to build membership in lieu of padding its pockets before the legacy servers completely tank.
Sorry but it's difficult enough to tolerate this game some days and if I can't at least play at my usual pace without constantly dealing with the WW goofs.... good bye. Some of us remember how bungled the pilot bio rollout was and how imbalanced the game suddenly became. Guess Dark Orbit just wants the take from the 1% and to hell with the rest of us. I hope they don't roll these out. Will make the game impossible for noobs to progress with guys already too strong fast popping everyone.
This game has been out of balance for years... this will kill off any leveling off that has gone on.

The uridium is not a problem but the fact that these formations kill the gameplay. There are two rules: 1. Do not mess with damage, 2. Do not mess with speed.

 

You guys have no idea what these will do to the game whether its good or bad, but they wont kill the gameplay, it will make killing npcs a lot easier and will make pvp a lot more interesting dont complain about them until they actually come out and you get to use them.

 

I dont want new Formations.
Its anoying enough that we got Drone Formations.

Chix, I know u r an experienced player so tell me....

WHAT NOOB, who is grinding npc's like BK's or even a Cube, is gonna shell out say 100k to 200k for a new formation, to make killing those npc's "faster"....ANYONE grinding NPC's like that is doing it mainly for URI.....No noob could afford these for that purpose.

These designs (aside from the wheel or the X) are made for UFE pilots to 2 shot their prey instead of 3 shot them....That is exactly what this game DOES NOT NEED.

 

Not going to kill the game? You think can survive when you get attack by a cloaked player? You will die before you could even get a lock-on!

 

I agree with you that we don't have the complete idea but we do have quite enough from their description.
It will help in NPC killing for some extent only.
With +50% dmg comes -50% shield strength and shield spread. So maybe good for npc that don't hit you much. But if you want to solo cube with low ammo (say x2) in a goli, I don't think extra dmg will do any good when your hp will get ~50% of the dmg and half of your shields.
So, its only good for NPC that don't hit you much.

The +50% honor, looks nice but the ranks gonna be messed up and again much hard for newbies and free players who can't afford to buy this formation as there are so many other important stuff they need first. Not to forget ranks are already tough for many weak or free players.

And for PVP aspect. You think it'll be interesting if you have to fight 3v1 and they use this Drill formation (+50% dmg) and each of them hitting you 100k - 200k minimum a shot, so you're getting like 300k - 600k / sec.? (Not to forget the actual values would be much higher than these)
I believe there was a time when it was interesting and fun to have 2v1 or 3v1. But with more fire power now, it is becoming extremely difficult to win such battle unless the opponents are noobs.

Also the lag makes it hard for most users to lock their opponent on time. With more fire power, each individual second delay can be the end game.
We must not forget that this game is not only for WWs or players with best hardware but also for free players who also deserve to "have fun" and "enjoy" the game like everybody else. So all the updates into a game must be done considering them as well and not just the 1% of the wealthiest gamers.

Again I've to agree with you. But unfortunately, we can't wait till they're out cos there will be no point of complaining after they're out. They won't remove it from the game once they're in.
So, if we don't want them to release them, we have to complain now. Not to forget some players tested these formations in Test servers.
If we wait for them to come out in all servers as a new update. Then we can't think of BP taking it back. We don't like the idea of LF4's from chest and everybody complained about this probability and chances stuff, but did they removed it? I don't think so and the same will happen with these formations if nothing is done before they're released.

The game is already too hard, unfair and extremely costly for new players. And we need new updates that fixes some current issues not create more. If BP can't figure out how to keep having new players and give them better opportunities so they don't quit (which won't happen if a guy pops a newbie in few seconds) the game will literally die. Many existing players keeps quitting the game and in this if new players don't come in with good numbers. Then the game will die slowly. Many servers are nearly empty most of the time.

Awesome, I'm sure they spend the same amount playing some other game where the dev's don't actually listen to the players and throw in crap which ruins the game for over a period of 5 years and continue to throw even more dumb stuff in...

Keep up the good work You guys are grabbing money better than Mario can at this point!
