There is no chance for a newbie to survive in this game and it is all because of Seprom, Booster, Tech Item, Item Upgrade, LF-4, event ammo, Havoc and Hercules. All of these a UFE have and none for the newbie. A newbie have to start at very beginning, building the Skylab and Skill Tree and get full Elite equipments. All of that is expansive and even all of that is not enough to fight some of the NPCs in X-3 and X-4, in fact you are not even safe in X-2 because of rival company player. There is a place for the newbie to play on their own and that is in Galaxy Gates, but it cost a lot of Extra energy or Uridium to build and you can only survive Alpha gate if you do not Item Upgrade and buy Booster. So in the end a newbie can survive Darkorbit and become a UFE, if you have a fat bank account that is, but be warned, who knows what the developer will add next to become a fully UFE? P.E.T. 10 design, anyone?

  2. I sort of saw where you were going, then you said "Can't survive alpha without upgrades, and boosters".... Kid, I did alpha back in the old days with 4 flax and a leo and had about 3 lf3 and 2 bo2. Sure things need to cost less when it comes to lf3s and bo2s but it's a PvP game, you have to work to get it.

And a ton of us want pet designs so lmao.

I meant you can only do Alpha, but if you want do other gates you will have to Item Upgrade and have Booster.

  4. You can do most gates. The only two gates that might be tricky would be Kappa because the last two rounds have a boss Cucurbium and a Century Falcon, they hit hard, and Can't be avoided, you have to take damage.

And maybe Zetas, the infernos (or whatever) at the end are tricky because they have ish, and npc's that follow them.

Oh and the Hades group gate you do need to be At least old FE, the bosses are tough and need some good ammo to burn.

The rest of the gates can be done with X1 ammo in a full damage config config, you just have to be VERY patient, and circle properly, and fly away to rep during tough rounds like gamma BK's.

The ONLY three ways for someone to make good Uri/gate spins in Dark Orbit is Spaceball, collecting palladium, or boxing on the Battle maps. (you can cube too, but you do need a good ship to do that).

  5. Still not impossible, gates have been around for some time now. Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and zeta i think were out before upgrades. I know the first 4 were i forget about zeta. Anyways, we did those without upgrades. I did them all without upgrades and boosters. My first Gamma was with a 7 iris goliath the first time Bio came out... Still lacked enough lf3 to be full including the bo2. You just need to stop complaining and start doing.

You and the veteran players sure is patient!

  7. The gates were around long before updates such as the lf-4 were added. A through Y gate and the delta. all were in existance before pilot bio and the lf-4. It is easier to get FE now a days all you need is to find a person to teach you. UFE is a challengde for everyone I have been playing since 2009 still not UFE but i continue to work. I understand how frustrating it is to fight the UFE pilots trust me there are a lot of em everywhere ya go as a noob -_- but going to 2-4 maps can be your death or get a lot done try to find different maps or times where not as many hunters on to work on stuff or missions. Get in a fast ship or if your in lowers a leonov. Find a moderate clan that can give you credits every now and then but dont beg.

I completed my first Epsilon today, it was easier than I expected but I do have a lot of upgraded items though. I guess I worried too much!

  9. Congrats, see they are not that tough, just some time and a little good ammo.

You should think about doing zeta gates, as the uri payout is a little better, and you get 25 log disks and 25 booty keys. The Log disks build up your Pilot bio, which is necessary these days. Use the keys you stack up on gold box "Zeus" days to get both Apis and Zeus parts. Odds are you will get at least a handful of LF4's along the way too.

After full havok and some better damage, finish getting your LF4's by doing Kappas, now you will start getting some Herc drones too.

You have to balance your progress for different things, and find the easiest/cheapest way to achieve everything, aka UFE status.

Racing for just LF4's first, will leave you getting extra LF4's you don't need later on, sounds crazy but its true. (unless you want many hangars full :D)

  10. Yep most gates you can circle or drag npcs so they are not all to hard even more so if you do not lag they just require a large amount of time sometimes. and Congrats on your first completion once you get use to the multiple gates you will get a feel for doing them after that its a walk in the park even with x-1 ammo.

I think I will stick to Epsilon and Alpha for the time being. I also completed Beta yesterday, which I left it alone after I failed once in Kristallon wave, so after that I decided to do Epsilon, I even thought that the second half would be difficult but it is not. Going back to Beta was still tough even after all the upgrade, so I do not think I can do Kappa and Zeta for now some of the alien is too strong to me. I think I will save more ammo from spin and get LF-4 for now.

  12. You really don't need all the stuff you keep going on about, but i'll give you some advice. Make these 2 configes.
1: Full speed, all shield on drones, so you can run and repair.
2: All shield on ship, lasers on drones. So you can dish out damage, but here's the best part, get Moth formation, because it cuts down the amount of ammo and time you need to do the gate. Just keep dragging the npcs along slightly out of their range but in range for yourself.

  13. You will get full LF4 first, which can't be bad, BUT I can say for 100% CERTAIN you will get MANY extra LF4 as you go for all the other things you need to fight , such as BIO, Hercs, havoks, Apis drone, Zeus drone, and all the uri for upgrades.

As long as you KNOW that this will happen, and you are still ok with it....I can be ok with it too lolz :)

  14. One thing I must say here is that upgrades are very minor factor... 6% dmg and 16% shields is completely useless at lover leves. Never ever spend uri on upgrades in hopes of getting tougher ship before haviong at least 20LF4.

Trust me, you can do zeta and this is probably the only gate you should be doing to be honest.

I have been playing this game for a long time and exept premium and box doubler i have been free player. I have worked alot to get to where i am right now, and im getting tired of noobs complaining how hard this game is. We all have been where you are right now, you cant expect everything to be easy and to become fe in first day it took me years. Why do you think this game should be easyer for you then to other players? The game has made alot easyer for noobs these days so stop complaining about it no one wants to hear about it!!!

Newbie complaining is good, they are willing to give feedback and show that they want to play this game. But when they do not complain, means they quit. The game easier now versus then? LOL!
