no text in chat box

hi there

How is everyone? I'm getting in touch because my chatbox is blank, there is no feed to it, nowhere for me to input text. Just a grey box.

I am running latest version of firefox and flash, have tried clearing cache, no change. I have 4 accounts, GB1, GB2, and US West. Same thing is happening on all of them.

Can you suggest any remedy please? I have not been banned from chat, ( never have been either lol ) so it's not that.

Any suggestions you can give would be gratefully received.

I call it a break from the mess that is normally in chat and can get some things done. It will come back. Sometimes it is just like that but clears up in a few hours. Of course it ran for 4 days on me one time for my 6 servers, 2 the same as yours. I just turned my music up louder and enjoyed pally.

It's just I've been away for a while, and would like to know who is still out there, also, without TS its my only way to gauge whats going on on the maps, and also pretty essential for certain events if you're going to coordinate your actions with others.
Ah well I'll give it a bit longer, and, as you suggest, get the music up

Yup. Everything tiptop and completely up to date I'm afraid. Still no joy. ran into some old clan buddies this evening and couldn't even say hi lol. We still had a good session though. Yeh -- funny thing is, I can't even post clan messages either, this is wierd :/

I am sorry that you are experiencing this type of issue. I myself have logged in to the game to have no chat. So I do know how frustrating it can be. I usually log out of the flight screen a few times. If it does come up - I try a different web browser, one of them will usually works for the chat, leaving me to find a group of people bantering in global chat.

I am sorry there is not a more technical answer at this time.

Yes, it is quite a widespread problem, you are right, and it has happened to me a number of times before, only to mysteriously rectify itself for no apparent reason lol.

Well, I would switch browser, but am very happy to be back on FF, something I have used since it first came out (on and off, I have played DO on a fair few, with varying performance ), so I'm going to stick it out until it either sorts itself or I decide to submit a ticket.

I thought I'd ask the very knowledgeable forum people first, as usually advice here is second to none, but I see now there is no known 'quick fix' solution.

Hi there,

Before i go ahead and close the thread, you mentioned you have the latest flash and FF versions, can you double check to make sure you have the latest java player installed? The only reason i ask is because it is my understanding that chat is more Java based than flash based, therefore there is a small chance it could be a Java issue causing this problem for you.

I hope that Support will be able to assist you in finding the solution to your issue.
