P.E.T. 10 Damage

So, I was messing with some MMO in 3-6... I know I can't touch them, so, if ya can't beat em annoy em...

After multiple times retreating and jumping back into 3-6 the enemies had left the gate area. So, I ran down a little bottom-left to see if they were staged there and a lone P.E.T 10 shows up and starts shooting me. So, I try to shoot it, but, at the same time I realize my shields are gone!(I know better than to go in with my shields down, those guys hit waaay too hard for me to expect to go in and survive without em) It's at this point that I finally notice that I'm taking over 100k damage per volley from this P.E.T. shooting blue! Of course, death soon afterward, lol.

Is this even possible? Exploit of some type? How can an FE ship worth of damage get squeezed out of a P.E.T.? And if this is some exploit, does anyone know of a workaround or way to avoid it?

There has been a lot of glitching and lag lately. Its possible the player decloaked on you and you never even saw him! Happened to me during the Halloween quests several times. I have a high speed connection and a screaming machine but alas The connection to DO seems to be aol dial up after it leaves my broadband connection.

 

Hmm... I was thinking that same thing may be what happened, however, there were no rockets or Hellstorms fired. Dragon has red lasers, these were blue. And I'm pretty sure if he meant to kill me, fast as he could before I got to the gate, he'd be laying down more than 100k... I'm nearly certain he's capable of much more.

Also, I've had something similar occur right at the gate after jumping back. No PET doing the damage. Just falls out of nowhere. Should be DMZ but it isn't. I figured the only thing that makes sense was if I were hit by a venom ability and after I leave the map, the damage stays in the previous map and builds up. Then when you come back it starts loading all that saved damage on ya. I've died entering a map that way twice in the past and it always occurred after jumping out from a fight. I also know that I did not have the venom ability graphic on my ship at the time they happened.

Dude, it's the player invis glitch. When you port jump too fast, or at certain times, you won't see the players on the other side

 

Thank you very much for assisting this player with their issue.

What you are experiencing is usually a flash player lag. So times you will jump into a map and wont see any other players on the map, thus making you vulnerable. What I would suggest as an easy fix is to jump another portal and that should resolve the matter. I would also ask that you check your FPS and memory usage by click on the hot key letter F. If your memory is 800+ you may consider logging out and back into the game to refresh your system.
