Palladium and PET

Hello, there's something really annoying that happens to me while I'm collecting palladium.
When the PET is out and collecting, and there are times when it 'mixes' with other PETs, it NEVER ever wins. I mean, to an extreme level. I watched it collecting and I saw something really infuriating. There was my pet 15lvl and my friend's pet, 6 lvl. He was with goliath, I was with spearhead. My pet went to a palladium in about 1 second earlier than my friend's, and mine lost !

I've heard many theories about which is the factor that makes a pet win a palla when blending with others, like fuel quantity, radar protocols, jackpot, pet hull and pet speed that correlates to that of my ship, but as long as I'm in spearhead my pet's the fastest, right ?
I just want to learn if there's a key factor about winning a pet blend, or if it's just luck, which I seriously doubt, because if that was the case then I'm the unluckiest DO player.

One other friend of mine, goes always to palla with goliath, pet 14lvl, no radar protocols, no upgraded hull, slower pet than mine, fuel rarely above 20k(same as me), and the only thing he has more than me of the theories I stated before is the jackpot, where he has 10k and I have 2k. Well guess what. His pet ALWAYS wins !

Please help, this is just too annoying ! -_-

The P.E.T which reaches first for the palladium will eventually pick that up and sometimes on rare occassion it may not. Also your P.E.T will not pick up the palladium every time if it reaches to it after someone's P.E.T already collected it. I would suggest you to find a spot where there are less number of ships, so there is less competition amongst P.E.T for collecting palladium.

Note: Jackpot money has nothing to do with PET's collection.

yeah that's what I'm trying. But I find it akward it never wins.

Having spearhead is the best you can do, The only thing that affects pet speed is your ship speed. If you have a bad internet connection, I have heard that can cause you to lag behind just enough for another persons pet to grab it first...I have a Spearhead, and my pet wins 2/3 of the races now ( and then stays ahead till someone moves their pet), when I use a Goli I would lose 2/3 of the time.
