  1. I thought I'd give it a shot and after ~130k ammo and almost 2 hours I was quite disappointed with the results. Sure I got some x4s but that was just about it (besides, I kinda spent them on the gate anyway). What really struck me was the amount and frequency at which UFOs and UFONITs would drop Proxium. Completing the entire gate earned me a grand total of, wait for it, 0 proxium. Honestly unless you're UFE and are looking for a bit of elite ammo this gate isn't for you (the gate itself I didn't find hard at all, but it's simply not worth doing imho)

  2. My first go at the gate result in only 7 proxium ...then i buy the boosters and did it again
    another 2 times i was able to get enough proxium to trade for 1k gate spins ....sure the gate takes more ammo than it suppose to the rewards are too small for the amount of time and ammo spend
    howerver with the boosters the 25% and the doubler you can earn between 120-150 proxium each time. I will do the gate another 2 times then go back to ABY

    Seriously DEV TEAM...
    Yall have no idea what players want. This is another version of TOT gate. I am ufe with good amount of ammo , for me, gate is easy but for non ufe players its hard. I bat for weaker players coz until they all get stronger game wont get balanced. I honestly dont care what yall do. I just log in here n there. Maybe 1 day i will log in and POOF darkorbit is death. Just another 2 cents from dumb player who wasted too much of time n money on this game. Good Luck every1

    Hey, I think you guys are looking at this wrong. I'm not slamming my Proxium and stuff into the ULF4s. Those are kinda stupid. However, for the resources you'd put into building one of those, you can get a load of green booty keys and extra energy. The missions suck and I'm not wasting my time on those, but I'm building the recipe for booty keys and energy as much as I can. I finished Delta and am 80% done with Epsilon with the energy from running through the gate twice and have 100+ booty keys. Booty Keys = normal LF4s, and energy = gates, so I think this is mostly awesome with the following exceptions:

    1) The paid booster for 4 hours is nearly worthless. I've bought two and neither one got me all the way through the gate even using x4 + RSB + KAMI before it expired. I've said this before, but they need to listen: Some of us are fine dropping a little cash into the game. You don't have to cheat us, just give a good deal and we will hand over some of our hard earned cash. Make the booster a 10 hour like the other boosters and charge $5.99 or $6.99 for it and people will line up to get it. I won't buy another, it's not enough reward for the cost.
    2) The Proxium drops REALLY need to be larger or dropped by more things. Give a % chance of the big ubers dropping a couple pieces or just make the drops by the UFO and Ufonit's larger. You want to encourage premium ammo use, make it so that the use of the KAMI = 0% chance of dropping proxium.
    3) The missions just suck!!! I don't care about them since the rewards for recipes is so awesome, but really, put some good missions that have real rewards. The level player who can finish these gates doesn't give a flying toadstool about the ULF4s. High level players want Uri, special drops like designs, ships, booty keys, mad-large amounts of premium ammo, etc.
    4) The box doubler not working in this gate is LAME! I read the FAQ, saw the drops and immediately went to get the doubler... ONLY BECAUSE I WAS DOING THE GATE!!! To have it not work left me feeling that you were just looking for ways to cheat me out of my money. Again, you don't need to cheat me, if it's a good deal, I'll give it to you.
    5) BTW, on the last sale when you didn't put the booty keys on sale, that was just made me mad. WTH? Everything was on sale except for Keys. If you change things from SOP, you need to inform your user-base so we can make good decisions. Now I have 200K in Uri that I bought at the Helix sale and it will sit in my account until keys go on sale or upgrades go on sale.

    You got more prox than me with the booster. I got around 70 on the first run through the gate. BTW, you can't get Quadrotrin, you have to build the recipes for keys, energy, and RSB to get it. Effectively, this means you need more than 120 prox though. I think it would work out to be 185 Prox per laser after you do the keys, energy, and then RSB recipes to get the quadrotrin. On the positive side, you end up with 20 keys, 500 energy, and 40K RSB.

    Did you kill a UFO or an Ufonit? The Ufonit's are relatively easy to kill with x1 ammo. The UFOs have some ridiculous HPs (Maybe 10 million or more) and a shield that is impossible to take down. With x4 + RSB, 3030's, Uber-Rockets, Kami3, and singularity (venom), it takes me at a guess 30 min to 45 min to kill. However, it only hits for 4K+, so you can sit next to it and pound on it for quite awhile before retreating to heal. It's weapon range when it's been damaged enough to run is EXTREME. Make sure you leave enough HP to take 10 or 15 hits from it as you fly across the map. I found that switching between regular ammo and shield leech keeps me there longer, but I've never been able to completely leach the UFO's shields away, so the 10 million or so HPs take 5 times that long for the 20% (i'm guessing at that number) that sneaks past the shields to kill the little sucker. It's doable though, even w/o premium ammo if you have a KAMI3, x1, PLT-2026, and ECO's. I killed them in Tunnel of Terror w/o using anything but basic ammo + a KAMI3 in a Citadel.

    In this gate, I think the first one is on level 6.

  6. so far i have enough to build 5 U-LF4 from 3 gate 2500 spins 832 total booty keys (dont remember how much i have to start) also did 4 gates to help recoup my x-4 loss
    The gate is a nice change from the constant cubing then gate
    I did get about $15 worth of the boosters so i get around 130 proxium per gate i am going to try it a few more times over the week end and see if lady luck is still on my side it looks like i need 21 - 25 gates to get 45 U-LF4

    I am going to make a run at it wish me luck

  8. The gate is worth it if you want to stack up ammo, gg spins etc. But, mainly worth it for the rsbs. I am ufe with 1 damage booster and sepped lasers. I used 80% of the time x4 in the gate, rest of time, sab or x3. I did 5 gates. I have spent around 300k x4 throughout these gates, which isn't including all the x4 I have made in them. first gate i did not have boosters. First gate: 43 proxi Second gate: 86 proxi Third gate: 89 proxi forth gate: 102 proxi fifth gate: 72 proxi. I have made 220k rsbs, the average time for a gate is a little under 2 hours. I am 3 proxi away from 40k more rsbs. Not sure how a non ufe without good ammo would fair in this gate though. Also have made 3000 gg spins, 130 booty keys, 17k yellow hell storms, that's all i've kept track of

    Looks to me that if you have average of 130 proxiums per gate that you will need 45*185=8325 proxiums or 8325/130= ~ 64 gates to get full set of 45 U-LF4

    And using the above info from NoJokerForum in the process to obtain 45 U-LF4 you will use ~5 400 000 USB-100 ammo, 64*2=128 game play hours, 64*21000=1 344 000 Uridium to build them, ~13*10000=130 000 Uridium for dmg boosters, ~ 540000 Seprom and 34*2.29 Euro = ~$78 to buy Ultimate Proxium Booster - Special offers pack .

    But hey we can be more optimistic can we ? :)

    After all we will gather 900 booty keys, 22 500 EE, 1 800 000 RSB-75, 45 U-LF4 and 64 *20806 = 1 331 584 uridium from killed NPC plus some more like:

  10. The "buy 2 get third free" mission for the unreliable unstable LF-4 is good. Might try my hand at getting those first two.

    The ULF4 itself is interesting. If they really have the same average damage as the standard LF-4 then after upgrading they should have more. I'd like to see an experimental run with them against the standard lf4. 2k shots against some npc should give us a good idea about the actual numbers since DO is giving inconsistent statements. Make sure to keep track of shared dmg boosters from onlookers, that will skew the results.

    The popup ingame says "minimum 128, max 220" but this would give a very poor average of 174. The FAQ says "an average damage similar to LF-4" and "base damage: 220 Variance value: 48%", but this would seem to imply a minimum damage of 127.5 and a maximum of 325.6. Which is it? This is ambiguous, needs testing

    After upgrading if the base value for ULF4 really is 220 then on average they should be 22.56 points better than LF4 when equipped on drones since the damage boost from upgrading is larger with a higher base value. You might have bad fights with them since they have a chance of under performing but you'll also get burst damage and be able to do more damage than otherwise sometimes (unreliable)

    I just finished Wave 7 using mostly standard credit ammo: x1, PLT-2026, ECO's. I use x2 against the UberLords because it was going SO SLOW! + I use some SAB-50 against the UFO so I could stay head-to-head with it for longer. Only Prox drop was the UFO with 15 prox on wave 6. Waves 1 through 6 took about 4 hours on standard ammo and I spent about 1.5 hours on wave 7. I'm pretty sure I can finish wave 8 through 10 as well. I'm using a Venom to get the extra singularity damage, the X-formation for it's ??8%?? bonus vs. NPCs, the Moth formation against the UFOs to penetrate it's ubershield better, and my KAMI3 in addition to ammo listed above. I'm far from FE, so I'm not sure why people are saying it impossible for lower players. It takes some practice, the right ship helps, full load of BO2, a couple formations, and time. I'll jot down, time, ammo levels, etc. before I start level 8 and report back on the results. It might not be fast, but I think that average players can get this done. It just takes time and a ship with good configurations. Also, you can't be timid with the Rocketeers, charge into the middle of them with your best shield config and start knocking them out. Switch to your fast shield config when you hit 50% is and run for the hills. On levels with Sabs, circle around the map on the outside which will pull the faster units to you where you can deal with them and not be taking damage from Ubers while you are doing it.

    I was popped on map 8 once when I sat in the middle and let the SABs pen me as the rocketeers pounded me to dust. Should have followed my own advice.

    The prox drops were miserable. :( I'm going to go hit the first couple levels again with my 1 hour DROPCH-B01 and hope that I get a little something. Gonna hit with premium ammo while I have the booster. The first several levels are cake, but I'm going for speed.

    Went through the first 3 maps w/ the 25% booster and map 4 w/o the 25% booster and got a total of 0 Prox. If anyone is interested, I'll post those results. I used a bit of x4, Helstroms, and 3030's to go through the first 3 as fast as possible. W/O Prox, the work done isn't worth the 20K Uri for admission. I am still about 10K URI in the hole even taking into account gate 8,9,10 above and 1,2,3,4 that I just finished. The drops I've got most are EMPs & 2021's. I might break even when I'm done if I do it again with mostly x1. I don't think I will do it again. My limit for something like this is roughly $6 and even when I finish the gate this time, I'll be much shy of the 200 Prox I need to complete the second mission. I can't even count on enough prox to do the second recipe w/o the boosters.

    It looks like they have it rigged so if you drop $6 per gate for two boosters and 20K Uri, you'll get between 70 and 120 Prox. If you don't shell out for the booster, you get between 7 and 21 Prox, but still have to shell out 20K Uri or assemble the frags. I know some of you said you can go through the gate twice in 4 hours, but most of us will maybe make it in 6 to 8 hours.

    Running through it w/o the boosters, I see the reason there are so many complaints. This is very much a "pay gate" only. This is a bit more heavy-handed than I thought when using the boosters. Too bad, it's a good concept but they just let greed overshadow trying to make a fun experience for the user. Sigh...

  12. you couldnt have said it any better. and i totally agree with you. till now the only positive feedback that i see from this event are only from big UFE money spender.
    and i agree with some players that this event is a realy good event, but just as u said DO made it a "pay gate". they are MILES away from what they said that this would help noobs play and stay in the gate. cuz withot the boosters this gates is crap for the new players and to HARD.

    Didn't Like this event at all, Those UFOS has insane like 10M hp and shield, for an FE they might be able to do them, lowers then that impossible to take it down using moth with elite ammos since they will run out of it pretty soon like I myself came in that situation, those saboteurs has like speed boost or something I felt that way not sure of other players.:p, they are faster then normal once in pirate maps, Proxiem drop rate also low, in 4-6 ufonites didn't got even 1 also I didn't like the rewards much at all, Missions sucks anyway rewards too, not going to do this event at all, This event mostly seems better for UFEs.
    Overall not happy at all with this event, not much to do even plasmides drop rate already low as hell, its hard to make them through assembly so imma pretty sure 90% players might have simply bought them from shop.

    Up until map 6, I think this is very doable for anyone with a full load of LF3s and BO2s. Definately NOT lvl 6 doable. Even map 6 & 7 are doable by someone equipped right and using the right technique. map 8 is where they hit you with 5 of those extra tough sabs at once. Your only chance is to get to a corner, draw them, hit them as hard as you can and start running to the next corner and hope that you can break free from them for long enough to draw them across the map again. When this doesn't work, pulling out the x4, 3030's, and Hellstroms can free you up pretty quickly. When I ran through earlier, this is one of the only times I switched to premium ammo to keep from getting slaughtered. Having that many sabs and ??15 rocketeers?? is death if you let the rocketeers catch you before killing the sabs. My speed & shield config has almost 1 million shields with the ring formation and that is just enough to make a run through the rocketeers, pop a KAMI3 out and run for the corner and if I'm lucky get one or two of them in my sites and get a couple extra kills. I'm using a venom and it makes the UFO & sabs a bit easier since the singularity goes against the armor and not the shields. I can also see where a ship with speed boost would be good in negating the sab attacks and getting away to the next corner. Use the FAQ to know when sabs are coming:

    You can do the UFO without x4. I've done it twice now with x1, SAB-50 and a little spattering of x2. I have tons of SAB50 because I never use it, but it lets you sit toe-to-toe with the UFO and beat on it for several min. before running and healing before attacking again. The venom is awesome for this, bypassing it's shields. If you aren't using the moth config, you can probably do this without SAB50, but it will take even longer since the moth gets an extra ??20%?? damage through to the armor. I normally run and heal while the singularity is pecking away at it. After all that work, to get 5 EMPs is what sucks.

    Actually, I built my first 7 and paid URI for my last 8. I don't waste my resources in case I need them later. Good example is I really wanted the shiny blue design for my venom from the Christmas event, but I wan't going to part with 4 HPs and what ever else it cost... this even though I have 12 HPs right now. I'm waiting until something that is a real benefit comes along like when they put the ships up on the assembly. Now I own them all except the Tart and the Lightening. I have enough resources to build 6 more frags, but I'm jealously guarding my scrap.

    I'm off to map 5 right now. This will be my last run through this gate and I'm using 99% non-premium ammo.

    I do agree on that but x1 against UFO will take a lot f time for since I hit about 4.1k on x1 and I have 6 bo2s.:p
    and I don't have good ships also, but overall I couldn't find this event easy and really not much to do in there just to make the gate and do the gate and nothing, atleast they could release a permaforest bonus boxes all over the maps so for those who can't do the event should box.:p

  17. LOL UFO is 10 mil both hp and shields. I just put on my moth design and sab until its shields are down and then put on drill design use x3 or x4. You're right, its ridiculous wasting elite ammo on this npc which only yields minimal benefits. Might as well go to 4-5 and blast every npc to smithereens. What you get there is much more rewarding. BTW am on my 5th jump into the Fissure Gate and it was only then that I realized it really wasn't worth it. Shame on me. Peace :mad:

    I didn't actually mention this in my first point but what is the point of a 10mill HP/shield NPC that shoots 4k? At the moment I could sit in a corner, stick on sab, and then leave it running while I go make myself a cup of tea or go walk the neighbor's dogs.
    The UFO is not challenging- it's boring!

    Let's give some constructive criticism. What events did you like? What could they do to improve events you didn't like? What would separate you from your cash so they can pay their employees and make a profit? For me, the following:

    - I was very disappointed with all of the "pay only" box events because They don't give you a decent chance of a benefit. For example, when I bought the $5 for "is the new black" booty box event, I got two small drops of ammo, 1 drop of small cloaks, and two drops of sep. Really, 50ish sep for a $1 box?!?! You need to have a minimum reward that is better than what you can get for the standard Green and Gold booty boxes that don't cost real cash. For example, in the red/blue box event, multiple times I got junk like a single speed generator. I get those in the green boxes and don't have to give up cash. If you are going to do that, put several worthless things in the box like a speed gen, a small cloak, and an EMP or multiples of the item like 3 speed gens. They would still be worthless to me, but at least I'd feel I got something better than I'd get in a green or gold. Make me WANT to buy the boxes!!!
    - I liked the HiTech lottery event. I thought that one was good. I'd do it again.
    - I like the sales and when one comes up AND a triple URI sale happens, I'm not above buying a bit of URI.
    - I liked the buy uri and get assembly material. I dropped some cash to get URI during a 3x sale and got 500 scrap too. It was great at the time, it let me build two HPs that finished my first assembly ship the Diminisher.
    - Do combo events like the one above. I got discounted URI, some stuff I needed, and some type of booster was being given on URI purchases too. How could I not buy some URI with all that incentive?
    - I loved the Halloween gate and am looking forward to it coming up. Don't screw it up!
    - I was a new player when the space herpes thing was going on, but I liked the box drops. I look forward to seeing it again now that I can do the missions
    - The Christmas events were okay. Make the gate better. Give bigger payouts. I don't remember much about it now which tells me it was lame'ish.
    - If you truly want to help newer players, do like the event where there was a hard and easy gate. But make it longer, harder, and give bigger payouts.
    - Give good payouts for the work and don't "require" a cash payment for things to work. For example, if this event paid out enough prox so running through it three or four times would get me somewhere, I'd like it better. The 10 to 1 difference in payouts with cash boosters and without is too much and shows greed instead of a goal of making the game fun for the players. Then the boosters are too short to let a normal player work through with a single booster. Make them longer. If you are going to grab at our money, at least give us something for it.
