  1. On another thread a mod came in and stated that pet AI stack...which we knew ( I think ?)...In other words I can have 10 AI's and they all will provide their own bonus, and that will be added to the top....

Another poster wanted to know if this meant that the percent increase were ALSO COMPOUNDED every time...or do they just "stack" ..or "add up".

My question is does "stack" mean "compounded" ...or not? In terms of pet AI percent increases (like the radars)

FOR EXAMPLE : Lets say a pet has a base range of 100, and Three 12% radar AI's...which of the two examples show how increase is figured?

    IS IT : 100 x 1.12 X 1.12 X 1.12 = 140.39 "compounded"" range

    OR IS IT : 100 + ( 12 + 12 + 12 ) = 136 "stacked" range....

Even with just 3 AI's the difference in these two ways to calculate becomes apparent...

SO which way does it work for pet AI ?
    Thank You in advance

My question was also that I thought stacked meant compounded but the mods answer suggested that it did not. If they were compounded then the fuel protocol would actually be a viable purchase but since it appears they aren't it makes them totally useless.

protocols stack by adding up e.g fuel lvl 3 give 4% less fuel so 12 lvl 3 would be 48% less fuel. I have 4 lvl 3 and find a large difference in fuel consumption , A bit pricy yes but I did not but them all at once, I buy one at a time with occasional rebate packs I get. Unless you spend wads of cash the good things are acquired over time so keep small attainable goals and stick to them is how I became UFE ( with a bit of cash also) If you buy uri in any serious amounts a rebate pack should be invested in also, If palli field is where you live, fuel protocols are a good investment

  4. TY relog and Whoevea....what you both said is what I thought, that it is not compounded :( just added together one time.

I use 6 Level 2 radar AI and 1 level 3 radar. With these seven, I get good range for pali, and OK range for boxing. Plus the level 2 gears are way cheaper than the level 3's. Boxing is a different story, for that I would need at least 3 more level 3's I'm guessing, which in turn would burn more fuel.

Relog, you are the first person I've see who said the fuel proticals help you..I have heard many people say the opposite, that the fuel AI ends up burning more than it saves. But I just stick with my lvl 2 radars so idk :)

  5. The answer is yes the AI protocols do stack.

Here is a relevant thread regarding the reason why fuel protocols don't appear to work:

    https://board-en.darkorbit.com//threads/fuel-protocol-issue.28357/

I'm guessing that the thread will be closing before we can find out but rebooq21, you say you find a big difference using 4 lvl fuel protocols. As per the calculation you are using an extra 8 fuel per minute for a 16% saving.

If I assume you have a level 15 pet and are using the rest of the slots for radars and only have the resource collector gear on the pet to collect your pally this gives a total use of 59 fuel per minute. With a 16% saving this means you use 49 fuel per minute rounded down.

Without those 4 lvl 3 fuel protocols you would be using 51 fuel per minute instead. So 4 lvl 3 protocols are saving you 2 fuel per minute... is it worth it?

Please check my calculations for mistakes.

  7. my friend
from my experience on AI i soorely can advice u
    forget lvl2 protocols at all
for efficiend boxing with pet u need atleast 8-9 radar protocols (all lvl3 ofcource)
the consumpion on pet lvl9 with 11 radar protocols is so small if u count down the uri profit
    10500 - 675 = 9825 uri to ur pocket / hour

  8. Hello Ρļ€*İŋ*Ŧħ€*§ķ¥

Thank you all for assisting with this thread.

    Sorry for the delayed response.

Do you (the original poster) have any further questions or can we close?

Exactly! Your calculations are correct. So just to break even, you would require 4500 hours of bonus boxing just to break even on those fuel protocols you bought. I don't know about you but boxing for 187.5 days straight without breaks just to pay off my fuel protocols seems like a bit of a waste to me...

  10. The AI % Adds up. So if you have 3 radar, and say each was 3% more range. Then you would gin an extra 9% Range to your pet.

perhaps a waste for some who are shipbuilding , but since i have nothing left to get in the game, ( two full sets of havocs and hercs, lf4's, upgrades)I view the fuel protocols as a long term investment not to be recouped in a few days of boxing

  12. I stick with my level 2 radars, they are good enough for pali'ing...Boxing you do need the level 3's...but without premium and box doubler...pali is by far a better investment for me .

And fuel protocols...forget about it...better off using salvage protocols I assume ????

Ρļ€*İŋ*Ŧħ€*§ķ¥ - In a choice between Fuel Protocols and Salvage Protocols, I would personally opt for the Salvage ones. The Fuel Protocols are notoriously underpowered, whereas bonus cargo and bonus box loot is always a benefit. If you are mixing them with other Protocols, I would equip enough of them to receive an additional Galaxy Gate Energy when that is collected.

We will leave this open for a few days for additional player responses.

  14. Cool, thank you Seraph and everyone.
