Pet Only Boxes

Hello,
it has come to my attention that my pet can collect boxes i cant see. this happens all the time, there will be a few boxes on the screen it will collect them and every now and then pick up boxes that are not displayed on my screen. after speaking with a few friends they have not only seen it but have informed me that there may be a rare reward such as a booty key that is used to enter a gate. so my questions are.
1. Is there such a thing as pet only boxes or is it just lag?(any information related to this is welcomed)

2. If there is such a thing then can you collect a key to a special gate/map, if so what is the gate/map?

3. What are the potential rewards for the pet only boxes, maps/gate?

i have not seen anything in the forum about this so i am a bit skeptical, but i also know there is a map that only a few can enter per day jumping from 4-5 to a home x-1 map (the selection is random). Mass quantities of proteges are in the map. i have never experienced this but i have two friends that have. please confirm or deny. it is not uncommon to be miss informed about personal gains in the game.

4. in reference to the mass proteges in the paragraph above, what are the rewards for the npcs?

There was an event a few years ago where special pet only boxes existed but they were bright blue and looked pretty different from normal boxes.
Sounds to me like your pet is just picking up boxes that haven't loaded in on your screen yet.
As for the whole booty box giving special gate, that's just rubbish, either your friends were having a joke with you or they were lied to themselves about it

The Protegit map (Cube graveyard or "??? map" as it is also called) can also be accessed via jump chips (not the advanced one though) but the chance is pretty low. Nowadays the prots are Uber Protegit and shoot dcr rockets, I don't personally know the rewards but I doubt it is anything special, I think it is actually the same as a normal prot rewards.

 

the key/gate you seem to be talking about was an event okapi32 should know it he won all the events on our server lol

 

True actually, I forgot it had the keys for highscore gate in pet boxes
Was more concerned with the ammo and uridium ^^

 

To add to the earlier replies, yes, if your pet is picking up boxes that you haven't seen, more than likely, re-logging will fix your lag issues.

It is likely lag causing the box from appearing on your screen before your P.E.T. has picked it up.

You can call it lagg but if you pay close attention to what you pet is collecting you will see the P.E.T. pick up boxes that are not there (on occasion) despite what the frames per sec are and using different computers and even though there are a good number of boxes visible on the screen. Lagg doesn't always explain the unexplained in the game although it DO constantly refers back to it as the easy less challenged answer/reply. Perhaps there are boxes that just are not visible to to my ship/screen but are visible to other players as the opposite could be said also. I would also like to mention that I do have better than standard high speed internet.
Is there a time frame when the boxes are re-spawning that they just cant be seen but collected?

Thank you all for assisting with this thread.

PET only boxes don't exist. What you are seeing is simply lag where the resource (bonus box) hasn't fully loaded onto the space map yet, but the PET moves towards the spawning box - can't say for certain, but it's possible that once it reads as being "in collection", the box graphic doesn't bother loading in.
