pilot point route

I have a slow number of pilot points(29) and i was wondering if i should put my 5 spare points into electro optics, or evasive maneuvers, I'm not sure what will be better for a lower level noob

 

With Evasive Maneuvers you will get hit less

With Electro Optics you will miss less,it is very handy both in pvp and against aliens..i would advise going with EO

Something confuses me as it takes 36 pp to max both ....where did you waste some of your points ?

 

i meant i have access to 29, but only used 24, and i can max either electro optics or evasive maneuvers. Im weak with only 3 lf4, so pvp isnt really big in my picture, so basically which will help me in the pve world more ( hoping to solo cubes soon )

also, dont you only need 31 to max both ?

 

I had the same problem I went EO I'm just starting to hit a bit hard and don't want any or less miss hits. And my defence is blue lined to EM Just my two uri, be interesting what advice others give.

 

I would go electro optics. If you are tanking BK's or whatever, a UFE will pop you in 1-2 hits anyways, with or without evasive maneuvers, it won't save you.

Meanwhile, every second you are left alone to farm, electro optics will increase the speed you can grind.

If you want to solo cubes however, (which sounds like its a ways off for you anyways), I would go evasive (or both really ). Basic minimum to solo cube is a tank with 700k shield, diamond formation, and prob a little sab ammo.

**EDIT** I figured I'd pots this here now, a lot of useful tips to make cubing easier.

ou really need at least the Apis drone, and Zeus would help even more.

Here are some pointers:
1. run double tank configs, with 3-4 drones with shields on each side( you want 600-700 k shields per side)..no need for speed, if an enemy comes oh well.
2. have diamond, it is THE most important thing for soloing cubes X1
3. havoks help. ( a rough minimum is 10k on laser damage)
4.you NEED at least the regular boosters from auction (hp, shield , damage), and double boosters are good too, but cost uri.
5. run with pet , kami / have it in guard mode, the 1-2 k damage it hits helps.
6. use 3030's or the strong PLT-2021's (from gate spins, don't buy with uri).
7. Stay as far away from cube as possible, you can reduce damage from 18k a second to as little as 7k damage a second...( the side affect is you can't reach with regular missiles, but the trade off in damage is well worth it)
8. have at least a little sab and X2 on hand in case some LBK's find you and add 4k damage a second to you, that adds up, and you might need to speed a cube up some.

9. EXTRA TIP: Start with heart formation for the xtra 10% shielding, let cube hit you for that 10%, be it 50 or 60 or 70k damage, then switch configs while still in heart. THEN after another 60k damage to the second config, switch to diamond, you now have full HP and shields again, since the 10% damage the cube did to you was negated by the 10% heart boost.....This lets you get 10 free seconds of volleys till you start with full hp and shield in diamond config.

All this is for a Goli, but Ageis is about the same.....it seems the word around town is the goli is better for cubing. .. good luck.

 

Yes it is 31 to max both ,i counted tractor beam as well (tired)

If you only interested in PvE atm then go with Optics

It will make you hit more often = more damage

 

Well, to cube, you should just be Full Elite. I only had full LF3s (+2 LF4s) and no Apis/Zeus, just Irises. I had a double tank, w/ diamond, sepped, and basic Pilot Points: Ship Hull I & II, Shield Engineering & Shield Mechanics would be good enough. -Sab & x3 + 2021s

I notice when i use kami the cube starts doing 30k dmg, so for a lower lvl its better to not kami?

 

No, that just means you're letting all the prots shoot you.
I don't kami and I stick to the edge of the cube; it hits 10k to 20k

 

Kami doesn't affect a thing. Of anything it's reducing damage as prots die even if they do respawn. Only until the end does the cube hit 30k or so
