DarkOrbit made PvP quests for the pirate maps, I think that is a pretty good indication that they do not want the pirate maps to be peaceful, as some users have wanted for a long time.

I personally quite enjoy tearing noobs apart whilst they can't defend themselves then watch the aftermath in chat as they start asking for "peace in palla", but maybe that's just me ^^

  4. This is why we need a dramatized zone ^^

This kind of attitude to the game is exactly what is killing player numbers.
It is sad that players "enjoy tearing noobs apart". The game use to be about skill, now its more like bullying the weak in the most part.

Or it could be the large gap between UFE and noobs that is killing the game. It's not like people only kill noobs in palla maps.
People have enjoyed going on killing sprees since this game has started for a reaction in chat, it's nothing new.

If you want to blame the players for DO's decline and not the decisions made in late 2011 - mid 2012 by the developers then that's ok I guess.

Popping players to get a reaction out of them in chat seems kind of low and pathetic, slaughtering noobs that can't or don't fight back seems even more pathetic, I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy slaughtering noobs though but I only hunt regular maps.
The pally fields and 5-3 would be to crowded if it was a demilitarized zone though, I don't think it needs to be, you need to build your ship more and have a better defense or pally in groups, the game has been messed up so much, their's ways to help players but this wouldn't be one if that was the OP's intentions, prices just need to be lowered and maybe some updates to make gathering uridium easier.

  8. Popping people in palla is good fun, if it was a demilitarized zone then afk players would sit there and take all the palladium with there pets! Plus reactions that I get in chat are funny and keep the game interesting.

I bet you're hated by other companies in your server :)

  10. Haters be my motivators

  11. Pally maps are pvp maps as well and there a really no rules in them.

  12. There's already enough drama in this game. I don't think we need a map solely dedicated to drama.

Seriously though, as much as I don't care for pally popping (at least until I have to do the pvp in 5-3 quests) it's part of the game, which is a pvp game, and part of the risk you take when going to earn free gate spins. As people have said before me, it's not supposed to be easy for the sake of being easy. If you want easy, buy uri.

  13. how about this limit the amount of people in palla and the amount of time you can be in 5-3 per day to give everyone a chance or make 3 separate palla maps one for each company and the other 2 can't enter or i for each tier of player the "noobs" FEs and UFEs

  14. I guess It's people that have your attitude, that feel the need to pop the weak to get some insecurity boost to feel better. I like many others have never gone on a killing spree of the weak to get a reaction in chat.
When I played regularly, (before all the profit at any cost updates that killed the game) I would hunt out the stronger ships and protect the weaker ships in my own company.

It was not just DO money grabbing that killed the game. If the WW had not bought Bio outright (£450 for a 2d game advantage
) just to feel like they where better because they did not have the skill to win along with all the subsequent battle advantage updates, then DO would not be the failing profit at any cost game it is now.

Even all the superficial update we have been seeing recently has little to do with making the game great again, making a game the average player want to play. So I realise that DO is the major cause of where we are now, but it is your kind of attitude that perpetuates the down turn it the game. Stopping any chance of regrowth.

How about no, you should be able to spend as much time in there as you want, multiple pally maps for the 3 companies and keep them PvP seems like the best option to keep the bullies happy and the pally farmers happy.

  16. What do you actually get out of popping player that have no chance (bullying) are you so insecure that popping weak ships makes you feel good?

I have already suggest that if a player does not move for a few mins then their pet should stop also, to stop the legal bot farming. So with a demilitarised zone near the palli field that is instant demil would deter weak ship farming in the palli fields.

However it is my perception that the game is being developed to pander to the WW bully mentality, so we see more and more of it. The net result is that the game gets a bad press and have little or no chance of getting back to the great game it once was.

If you was starting out playing DO today would you stick around and put up with all the bullying, with the prospect of spending thousands of £/$ and thousands of hours just to make a ship that could play on a level playing field on a 2D game?

Ok, so you have never popped any ship that has been weaker than you no?
I'll put a twist on it, if I kill all the enemies in 5-3 then it leaves my company left, therefore helping out the weaker ships in my own company :)

You want to blame the effect rather than the cause.
You would be happy for DO to bring out LF-5 and B03 tomorrow and instead of blaming DO it would be the players fault, yes?

    Your logic is:

    • DarkOrbit brings out update.
    • Players use said update that DO brought out.
    • Players fault that DO brought out the update ... because they used it.
    • Therefore players are to blame for everything bad choice made by developers in this game and not the developers who actually made it.

I don't think you do since you literally just blamed the players for it, specifically saying:

"It was not just DO money grabbing that killed the game."

    ...

I think the problem is noobs used to be those without Iris, now noobs are those without havocs, LF4, 10 drones.... which was once classed as Fully Elite...

  19. Nah, 5-3 should not have a demi/be a demi map, solely because its a PvP map. The fact that there's now a quest which requires you to kill players in that map, backs this up. ( Just saying).
before you even suggest it, no i dont hunt in 5-3.

P.S lol everyone against this idea all seem to play on GB2! how ironic. ;)

  20. I have certainly popped weaker ships, but have never made it a mission and thought it was fun.
I'll put a twist on your twist when you do that the other 2 companies feel the need to do the same so the palli field becomes a cheap killing field.

I did not blame the players for it. I, as you correctly quote, posted :- "It was not just DO money grabbing that killed the game."

My logic is simple, there are 3 groups that created the diminishment of this once great game. In no particular order. Cheats, WW that perpetuated the relentless battle updates, and the profit at any cost mentality.

I consider the cause to be that the Devs/decision makers never expected so many to spend so much instantly on the BIO advantage on a 2D game, then greed took over and the net result is the game we have now.

When the game started out, it was a truly community spirited game, that had a cult following, in which anyone could do well at, with skill and effort, which gave a reasonable advantage to those that wanted to pay for it.
