The fact that there is now a quest that rewards strong player to hunt in the palli field just reflect what the game has become.
In my cynical view, DO does not want free players. It does not want player to farm palli, it only wants weak players to play so WW have easy kills. How sad.
It is sad that players spend so much, just the feel like they are good, when in reality they are paying to be bullies, not skilled players that do well because they are skilful, or put effort into the game.

PS I just realised I had been posting on my noob account in error:- ...Hades2

Im against the idea, and im gb1 :p

  3. I like the idea of truce in 5-3 and i never shoot in 5-3 without getting shot first, but making the map a demilitared zone isn't a good idea because people will start to hide in 5-3 because of the demilitared zone

  4. make palla a dem zone and who will we kill everyone can hide in there so what's the point before palla noobs used to kill bks and they got popped doing it they never asked for a dim zone in x6 and x7 maps so y start now its a pvp game get other it

It took some effort to read that. Try to punctuate it better :p
Yh its a pvp game, thus people can pop in pally. Its entirely their choice. Pally isnt meant to be easy to obtain and technically it isnt even your map. Its a pirate map meaning you're the trespassers and hence why there shouldnt really be a place for solace there.

  6. make it a truce were you get -honor for palla popping you still can but it will hurt your rnk unless the person is an outlaw ten you get + honor so if you see an outlaw there by all means kill em dead!

But im sure others have posted all over the forums before, this game is not supposed to be easy.... you get shot of pali cos the less people collecting, the more spins you get quicker so there is an advantage to be gained.

  8. I disagree with the whole map becoming a DMZ, however I wouldn't be against adding a base in the bottom left hand corner of the map that players can run to (without mine damage) when needed. So long as they haven't fired back, they should have the DMZ applied to them instantly.

I don't mean to hijack your idea. Take it as constructive criticism. :)

  9. Heck no!
Exactly. Get over it. I have less than 500 hours playing time, only bought premium and rebate, and I've got quite a few cool things. My pet is decked out, got drone upgrades, good bit of bio...ect. It's really not that hard to get fairly good in this game.

How does the fairly basic account spec you describe for 500 hr of game play, relate to "It's really not that hard to get fairly good in this game".

The spec you describe barely scratches the surface of becoming UFE.

Back when the game was at its best, with 500 hrs of game play you could have a maxed out FE ship and all consumable, with prem and rebate only.

  11. Your an anomalous result, then. :p

Bear in mind that palladium isn't the only way to get better.
We're not going to perish if palladium did, not saying it will but my point is you can earn uridium and spend it on gate spins if you're afraid of getting popped in pally.

What i tend to do is leave my second hanger in 5-2 and use my first hangers ship to collect palladium.
If im lucky and get a full cargo without being popped, i go to the lower end of pally and log out. switch hanger from back page (to hanger 2). log back in and trade the pally and then go back to hanger 1 and repeat.
Im not premium but if i get popped one off (i.e by pirates or an enemy player who has just finished his popping quest) then id repair for free and log into hanger 2, warp my ship from x-8 and continue to pally.
If theres players hunting in pally (from time to time there is), i just earn uridium or cloak and let my pet collect palladium.

To summarise, theres always something or another to do whether players are hunting in palladium or not.

alternative: you could go as a group to pally and back each other up if a hunter is after one of you.

    few tips:
use a spear if you're going solo so you can avoid being chased and popped by enemy
use an aegis if in a group
use a goliath if in a group but have lower shields and higher attack power. remember the pally clouds will drain your shields.

The above are my recommendations/ideas of survival whilst pallying.
Other players have their own methods of surviving.
But negative honour? come on, its not even your map, its an enemy map. if enemies pop you in your maps they certainly dont lose honour so i dont see why they should lose honour if they pop you in en enemy map i.e. 5-3

  14. As you said here, would you stick if you started playing today? Yes. Yes I would. I started this file in March. There were tons of ufes then as there are now. I built up my profile under those conditions. And I have neither thousands of hours nor have I spent more than $50. Learn how to play; if you don't like PVP, go away.

What I'm saying there is, I am at the point in the game, where I actually have a lot of fun now. I can hunt without too many episodes of being popped, and I can survive many enemies that jump me. In less than 500 hours, I've made a decent profile which is why I say, "It's really not that hard to get fairly good in this game."

My profile, "back when the game was at its best" was a piece of junk. I had a non fe leonov that I could not for the life of me get fe, because I couldn't do my quests without being popped. The sib ones were the worst. I had no clan, could bearly solo a sib(leonov didn't have home advantages back then) and just was scared to leave the port. Yes, people's damage was under 30k but they always hunted in packs, and I had 32k shield. xD. I like it better now than in the "good old days" because with relatively the same amount of time, I have something way better than I could have had back then.

Noobs get popped all the time just as they always have. You pick yourself up and go try again. If you do not have perseverance, too bad. Getting popped builds character:p And we certainly do not need a DMZ in 5-3. It's the best place for scoremaggeddon.;)

  15. New players have no business going there. Period. I totally understand your frustration but there are other ways to get spins. Boxing, farming aliens, and using the uri from them to buy energy IS the best way to do it. You waste time flying back there after popping when you could have killed aliens for uri and exp. I suggest the two+ hanger method, it's what I use. Spearhead in the pally, empty ship on base in 5-2.

This all seem a bit of a tall story 500 hr and £50 will not get you anything close to an UFE ship, or a ship that could survive an attack from an UFE ship. You say that you have premium and rebate. Only one 8 week rebate package with premium is £47. So unless you have only had one rebate package in total, you will have spent more that £50. Also Your ship spec currently sounds fairly basic.

Hunting weak players that are farming palli does not take skill or a particularly well equipped ship. So the fact that you hunt weak ships in the palli field says a lot about you. Especial as you see it as fun.

Back when the game was at its best ( before bio ) one could easily build an FE ship and have all battle consumable with £50 and 500hrs of game play. So what you are saying does not add up.
I was winning 2v1's in a 3 iris veng against 2 golis within a few months of starting out. and was a 2 star, with TU rank better than 280 well within 6 months of starting out premium only. That could never happen these days.

Back when I started I was soloing sibs in a peanut as back then AI was totally different to what it is these days, so you barely being able to solo a sib in a leo, would have been terrible skill back then.

It sounds like it is you that does not have perseverance, as you must have given up the first time around. I have over 5k hrs on just one of my ships, so I can confidently say I do have perseverance.
