Okay, so I heard a mod say something about pushing I think it was called, the basic idea is that you can't make two accounts and have them attack eachother for EXP, which makes sense, but then he said that you can't conspire to kill a player for rank... I don't get it, clans are for organizing together and killing people, and the whole point of killing players for a lot of people is rank. Limiting PVP the way I percieved he was saying would seem to kinda ruin a PVP game like this. If he was just talking about not conspiring with a friend to let you kill the friend, that's one thing, but what about this:

Say a clan gets together and says "Hey guys, this guy killed one of our members, so let's kill him until he's in a pheonix", and then they get together and hunt him down and kill him a bunch of times, a very basic thing you should be able to do in a PVP game like this, but according to that mod, this would be against the rules.

I'm just asking about this hoping it's a misunderstanding, surely no rational human would make a game about PVP, then limit the PVP part of it, I hope that you can basically kill whoever you want has long has it isn't controlled by you.

Honestly, I hope you guys wouldn't limit our freedom the way I think he meant by making us worry about this, but my hopes aren't always right I don't think.

Yeah that does sound very odd what the mod said, conspiring to kill a player being against the rules, never heard that one before.
You are definitely allowed to organise a group of players with the intent to destroy another players ship, group pvp is not a bannable offence in DO x)

Could be the mod was misunderstanding the situation or just mistyped it and didn't realize.

He did say it depends on the situation, but I just wanna make sure. lol

  4. Hello Varoid38,

I believe there might have been a misunderstanding from what the moderator was saying. Pushing is defined as the continuous popping of a player over and over with them not fighting back.

The above quote is correct, you are not allowed to have multiple accounts on at the same time to get rewards for one of them. Organizing an attack against another player or clan is also allowed, as this is a PvP game.

As long as you don't purposefully go out of your way to kill the same person 10+ times within a few minutes of each other, you should be fine.

Do you have any further questions?

lol, what if you're just really good at killing people, so killing someone 10 times in a few minutes is really easy? xD (I met this guy named revenge who had like 800k HP and shields, along with really good firepower, I think if he tried he could do that pretty easily)

Also, perhaps the reason they aren't fighting back is because they know it's hopeless, they might be really far away from any port, with nowhere near enough firepower to kill you, so they don't want to waste the effort, do you guys have a way of figuring out if that's the case? (Like looking at the IP to see if the character is controlled by you?)

  6. People will eventually gets popped at hunting but pusher's wont kill their main ships.
Not everyone will give up without a fight thats one of the reason why you get popped.

The meaning of pushing is using other accounts to build rank in your main account by allowing your secondary account get popped continuously. Finding our pushers is easy just look at their log, if they kill the same player daily and in a row then that guy might be a pusher
but we don't have the rights to look at other people log only support or mods have that right.

Well maybe they just hate them so they kill them over and over again. lol

Varoid38, With the Diminishing rewards, killing a player more than 10 times would be a waste as the single player would not gain any further benefits.
What ŊΛŘΛÐΛ posted is also correct, but this can also mean two players that agree to allow their ships to be destroyed by each other, either for rank, title or any other reason. This is also a form of pushing.

Do you have any further questions on this topic or may we close?

Well, what if they're killing them a bunch of times just for fun, and not for rewards? lol

Edit: Some guy just let me kill him in this group, he shot me for a second one time, and I thought he was just trolling, like "You can't keep shooting me or you're pushing! Even though I shot you for a second, it's still pushing because I'm not fighting that hard!", but it turned out that without my knowledge someone else had arranged for him to do it. I had no knowledge of it though, I just thought he was trolling, anyway, I aborted the quest and am gonna restart it so I don't get rewards from it.

Only saying that so I won't get banned, after all, a mod might not know I didn't know what was going on.

Varoid38, Sometimes in those types of situations it is best to leave the map and go elsewhere to prevent even the perception of deliberate actions to gain kills improperly.
So far as those that choose to destroy a pilot unceasingly, it becomes a big waste of ammo and can be perceived as pushing. It would be best to avoid such scenarios.
