  1. It seems that there is a list of words or some type of reference material used to determine what language or types of words can be used in chat. But, when asked for a list of the words or the references materials used, the comment is "that's like asking for a list of words that will get you suspended in school or something along those lines". As the parent of children who attended, and graduated from, their respective institutions of higher learning, a list of behaviors and words was provided.

To be told to act in an adult manner by someone is rude and condescending to say the least. It seems that there should be a better way to respond to a person's legitimate questions.

    Hello JosephineEarp

The only permissable language on our servers (GB/US) is English. On the Global servers, there are separate chat channels based on the language selected, so again, only English is permitted for ours. This team does not moderate other language chats.

With regards to specific words, we do not have a definitive list (as such). There are guidelines and procedures to assist with moderating chat, but common sense and personal discretion are usually the main factors. The changes in social media also make the role more challenging, as new slang and colloquialisms are introduced and used more frequently. This does not mean that we are unaware of the language being used, only that it can become more difficult to discern when certain terms are being used offensively, as much of today's language tends to carry a subtext.

Quite frankly, the majority of the chat we witness is quite juvenile at times, so I do apologise if you were accidentally caught up in a situation to address unruly chat. You are always welcome to post in the Chat section to query a specific ban you might have received, or you can contact Support for further information.

As far as providing a "list of unacceptable words", I would again have to advise that this is simply not possible. To publish such a document here would be in breach of the Forum Rules, as would it be to discuss anything of that nature in chat - your only option is to try and get that information privately from Support. There is a link in my signature, if needed.
