Ranking points

How the hell can you be 10k points ahead of the rank below then overnight be 30k points behind? is this game glitched or is it just a joke?

When you were 10k in front that was only the persons rps at 5am in the morning, so for them to make 40k in 1 day isn't unheard of, on ge1 we can do hades all day and make over 100k fairly easily.

 

if you are general, and went 10k above the person below you, it is very possible but if this rank is major, to basic space pilot, this is very unlikely done. Try keeping up with your rank, as there are other players who wants the general too

 

was Chief Capt with 10k above Capt rank, now 30k behind the Chief rank so lost 40k over night

sorry rank went up 40K overnight

 

peoples are changing rank points , not system , so it sometimes happen it jumps cuz of switching companies or big spenders , when u wil be higher rank u will see how hard its even to keep this rank ...

 

probably your company lost ranks due to lack of population. rank is based on % of active players, since servers are losing players again company may lose many captains over 1 night

in my server we lost a chief colonel. consequences? all ranks shift.

 

Hmm yeah with a rank like captain I would say what Basch has suggested with ranks being lost due to player numbers is much more likely than what I originally said about galaxy gates.
It's annoying when it happens but it doesn't happen often.

 

On US West, Vru had a large influx of people jumping companies... this also can contribute to ranks being "readjusted" at the 530am system reboot.(as SauronL posted above)

Be happy with the 40k variation - my next rank has jumped 400k in the last few weeks.

 

they should remove RP from inters anyways. i think iwould be basic general then LOL

 

why? they are gonna fix the bray so no points removing intercs points. i would lose only 10k rp so not saying that because i lose my rank or something, i honestly don't see a point doing that, just kill who do the bray if he is doing it afk

and you would remove rank points from every player just so "somebody" lose mils of them?

in the past they removed streuners and lordakia's rank points but that was different, there was thousands of players botting npc's in x-2 maps
the afk bray farming 24/7 is related just to a very little amount of players so i think that would be bad, you can't punish everyone because of a few, expecially since they already are reworking the battleray npc

 

Put the bray in different spots to respawn...better yet...respawn in the maze Lotta traveling...hehehe

The rank depends on lot of factor i.e you should be putting lot of points in terms of farming, hunting or doing gates, if the person who is below your rank is farming, doing gates and hunting daily then he is bound to pass you in ranks, if you want to play the game for ranks then you should put points daily to catch up with others or maintain your position in ranking. Also badge rank is calculated daily and if some people switch companies and join your company then your rank would be affected if they are higher ranked as compared to you.

First you have obviously succumbed to the notion that the ranking system is based on skill and that it is somewhat fair. Second, Pushing and exploiting vulnerabilities of the game used to be frowned upon which appears to be no longer the case.

There no longer appears to be any down side to bad behavior.
