Regarding account bans: Updated guidelines

Greetings space pilots,

Darkorbit is ever changing, but not only in just the game itself. The guidelines in which actions may be taken against your account(s) for violations of our Terms & Conditions are also subject to being updated. While it is never ideal to need to invoke any action against a user, unfortunately these do need to happen at times and so we would like to advise you of these changes.

Some offenses may receive a different action taken against the account today than they have in the past.

Please note:

• Bans/suspensions that are currently active at the time of this posting will remain as they are.
• Should the behavior that has incurred the current active suspension be repeated again in the future, it will be an offense in our new guidelines.
  • If your account is currently banned for racism/hate speech for the first time under the previous guidelines, it will still count as a "first offense" under the new guidelines.

Some of these offenses may have account bans that may now appear more or less severe initially as for how long the ban may be. However, these violations are just as severe as they have ever been. It is just the steps to possible account closure that has changed.

However, some offenses may appear as new, and we so would like to be clear:

• Discussing or promoting illegal/unlawful activities or drug use may incur further action being taken against your account.
  • Please note: This does not mean that drug references will strictly incur a more severe [chat] ban than it currently does. However, in severe cases, you may find further action taken against your account, possibly even if the chat ban has expired.

We hope that this may help to shed light on why actions taken now may be different than they have been in the past. Hopefully we do not see any of our space pilots on the sidelines in the adventure to come.
