Removal of the Like function

Hello everyone

Yes, i talk about the Like function in the forum. and i think we should remove it. why?

as far as i know Likes get mostly used to "Agree to someone who downs someone else" aka -indirect insult. rarely Likes get used to agree to someone for a real helpful comment. as example (conversation)

Know what i mean? and yes, thats based on a real conversation from the German forum (not specified on the likes, was another subject). so anyways, as already said, likes should get removed if they get used like this. imho we dont need it anyways, if i want to agree to someone i can also write something.

I think the "Like" function should ( Stay )..

Forum shouldnt have to be a Place of CrossWords and Literary Sparring but it Is.. should you choose to Bring a Knife to a GunFight, best be prepared to get Sniped .. there are too many Caliber's to be Had and too many Wabbits to Shoot at..

100% agree.
When the new forums were announce I hoped that post count recognition would be removed, it has in a way but we still get silly titles under our name for posting a certain amount, and that there would be not like or dislike system.

I feel like in a way the like system also causes less activity, if a player likes an idea they can just hit like and move on, whereas before they might have been inclined to say why they like and idea and maybe add their own thoughts to it as well.

 

Well then for One I like my Like and title, :d if you all have that much of an issue with it how about you require to actually post before you can like anything on the thread. as for the post count its there to encourage people to contribute to the forums. Many forums have this system of working hell just about 99% of them do.

As for your idea of using like to agree with. OF COURSE it is going to be liked why would you like a comment you do not agree with or do not see the valid argument in. An idea you might respond to your going to like because you have something agreeable with that statement.

The Like for hate is known, even on facebook. if someone is sarcastic to someone else, a lot of people usually like that, what just pulls down the person who got attacked. that can also cause quitting, so you lost a forum member, thats why we should remove it. as i said, if i agree with something, i should write something too. Okapi32, yea, thats something i noticed too. its less active here.

 

how about when you put that u like or not like something, it tells u why or why not, that way you have to comment?

 

I post to inspire Ideas.. We are Thinkers.. Dreamers and Creators.. not Quiters.. Haters will always be Dream Killers so Dont Respond to Button Pushers.. is all Im saying.. Strength comes from within.. and I have my Haters.. but they will Tire out before I DO.. because they wont Get their moneys worth even if I should Never Post again.. thats How it Goes..

as a noob i use the like function sometimes for the idea,, as i would say something similar or especially if the response makes me laugh
