  1. My idea is just to revert the Tech Forums to the old server style. I actually am having a problem in game and have attempted to get help via the forums from admins and moderators as I did in the past which was quite helpful in the older setup. Now with these new forums, it has become difficult to get a response from an admin/moderator. The thread I started has had numerous people posting the same rehash of ideas that have not worked and now I can't get a straight answer. There is also the possibility of people hijacking your thread for their own purposes.

The older Tech forums worked, I do not see why they got changed.

  2. No -1 from me. I like this new forum. Live with it.

  3. They were changed for a reason, they won't change a single section back, we're all trying to get used to it. Do not hide yourself from innovation. Personally, I have gotten quick, concise answers from administrators recently. I'm starting to like the new format.

If you want to make sure that your topic gets to let's say, Juturna, then you can utilize the tagging feature, @+Name.

  4. I am not hiding from the innovation. It is just frustrating when you want a straight answer and all you get is the plethora of people who aren't having the same issue, trying to tell you that your computer/os/browser are garbage and you should just give up. The older Tech Issue forums were imho working.

Also there is the small issue that some random person who doesn't want to make their own thread about a completely different issue will attempt to hijack your thread, as is the case with my thread in there.

  5. It was just a quote that I thought was philosophical and perfect for the moment. ;) But yes, I do realize this, you could in a sense report them, I don't exactly know the reportable terms off the top of my head. In addition, this is only one instance, give it a few before you give up on the new forum format.

  6. I like that instead of there being 19 threads about the same issue it can get condensed into one. But when you have 6 people all saying the same thing about the fix or about how much garbage "your computer" is, it really is demoralizing and counterproductive.

  7. I realize this, it's not a matter of software or unreliable advice, it's the community. Give them a bit, they'll step up their game in a few.

I have already raised this suggestion with Support after comments from several sources.

I should point out that even the Tech section in the previous Forums originally permitted user responses - it was only a recent change that restricted that section to Moderator replies only. Our main concerns are that people might be giving misleading and possibly harmful advice regarding computer management, however we are still adjusting to the new Forums ourselves, so our response times in that section are quite bad at the moment. We are working to try and get back on track as soon as possible.

I am closing this thread as the decision on this rests entirely with Support, and how they choose to manage their Forums structure. We will adapt as needed.
