  1. We used to get Official Notices of Upcoming Events, now we might get a quick mention of it after it has started or see it in the Calendar mid day of the Event.

We used to be able to plan our game playing around specific activities that were scheduled (Space Ball, Capture the Beacon, Level Invasion, etc) now we hope it is posted in the Calendar of the forums for us to plan but seems it is the day of the event it is loaded.

We recently have been told to watch the Calendar or "Breaking News" section of the main page for current activities, these could be acceptable if they were posted more than a week in advance in the Calendar (now it is like 2-3 days if not posted the day of the activity).

Which brings me to the complaint of the thread. Today we have another Galaxy Gate Double Reward Day (4th in the Breaking News) but it is not posted in the Calendar. We have had so many failures in ACTIVITIES not going off like they were supposed to and not getting the Rewards we were supposed to get that people are getting really frustrated with the game and garbage D O is feeding us.

Patience is a word being thrown around by D O Team but how much of this are we supposed to have. Lag introduced April 1 is still in the game, CBS issues introduced May 9th along with tons of other issues including Chat still effecting players today, further complications introduced May 26/27, depending on server, which have effected PvP Quests and still not fixed.

I understand time goes on and plans have to be adhered to but you can not tell me that you do not have a better Schedule of what you are going to give to us than a few days at a time (or maybe this is where the failure of D O has come from, you lost the foresight to schedule stuff in advance). I understand the Mod team has their own lives to deal with and as such do not believe the responsibility rests on their shoulders to keep the community informed of upcoming activities. The D O Team (Devs and Techs) should have the reoccurring activities on a schedule for 2 months in advance and should be posted to the Calendar by the middle of the current month for next month (exceptions would be the Special Events requiring New Programming to be introduced to the game) but the exceptions should have notices in the Official Announcements or Dev Blog (not used since December 2015) so we know what is in the works with some possible information of when we might see it, not the day before you decide to launch a major change to the game and we live with the ramifications of the failed foresight of the TEAM to see that data streams need to be corrected to interpret the changes that are being made to coincide with previous data streams allowing for a proper flow of game play not "Kills do not count" because of some NEW Ship assignment that takes a Goliath ship and makes it into 25 different ships and only 1 applies to the Quest.

So tell me how much patience must we have to be able to enjoy a game we used to love and now are asking to be fixed so we can continue to enjoy the game we have grown accustomed to playing? Patience like Tempers wear thin and frustration sets in and then wallets close up and move on to other games that are more enjoyable or entertaining instead of being told "Be Patient we ore Working on the Issues for You".

We see there is a New Addition being worked on for the A.S. but you have not addressed the issues brought up from the original launch and continuing in the game currently (cargo taken from persons needing to COLLECT for a Mission or needed for credits), FAQ's tell us what we get for killing a NPC but this lies to us as these Ores have been replaced with Booty Chests (Green, Red, & Blue) or A.S. Ores and taking the Cargo Drops we expect to get from every NPC we kill. So now a New Player is using credits he is not collecting to buy ammo to kill NPC's that he thought were worth killing but now calculates out he is losing so much he is better off not trying to kill them as they are costing him the credits he needs to have in the Auction to make his ship stronger to fight the Bully called UFE Fighter from killing him while he is learning how to defend himself in a game with little or no assistance as the server populations continue to plummet down the drain.

  2. As for the Double rewards Event and the Special rewards event I noticed All the times they have a discount on the EE, so every time I see a discount i click on Galaxy Gates to see what the event is instead of looking in forums or Calendar.

    Hello,

The changes as to how events were announced/handled changed over a year ago. Regardless of what account you're on about this from doesn't change the answer. DO introduced the upcoming events ticker on the backpage and with that the "upcoming events" lists for spaceball & such were deemed no longer necessary. Yes there is a limit to what the ticker shows so yes events don't make it on to the calendar until 1) they are visible to us & 2) we are able to add them.

So yes, the calendar is not always complete, and it sometimes gets updated a little earlier or later. This is the same for the daily events like GG double rewards days, etc. We don't generally know these before hand, so we can only post them once they're definitely on. So again, what remains is to wait on us. You can see it on the backpage regardless when it is on.

You're right that we as mods have our own lives; we have families, we have jobs, we have social things we would like to attend, time we would like to take for ourselves, and sometimes we would just like a break. But do not think for a second that we don't "believe" this responsibility rests on our shoulders. We know very well that it does. If we didn't then there would be no events on the calendar, nor would there have been an event thread (as we had before we started using the calendar). We opt to this, we opt to take up that responsibility, but you also have to accept that we are not going to sit at a computer screen 24/7 just refreshing and waiting for DarkOrbit's ticker to roll up the next event nor are we going to be available instantly at midnight every day (in any timezone) just to check what daily events might have popped up on the breaking news or layers. Regardless of what we're doing away from all this ourselves, we have plenty to do here as well when we're here and some things have a more pressing priority than others.

In short: we as the mod team do not have to put things on the calendar nor do we have to try maintaining an event thread. We choose to do so. Alternatively there could be none of these things, just simply what's on the backpage and what we might get announcements for. Kicking this subject over and over simply because we aren't immediately "on" something really just is not helping anyone.

Plenty of things have gone wrong lately, yes. Patience is the word of the last few months, yes. Everyone wants everything resolved and compensated closer to 'yesterday' than 'tomorrow'. The dev team is well aware of all of this.

It could be argued that some of what would generally fall into the dev blog has taken up in the Twitch streams. The latest "state of the game" isn't far off from these either, even if it isn't a "roadmap" or such but rather addressing the past couple months.
No, these aren't for everyone, but some rather enjoy having some sort of word from the people trying to help get things back on track, and some people enjoy the twitch streams.

Additions to the Assembly were pretty much announced with the entire intent of it. That doesn't mean that the dev team aren't working on fixes, issues or the impending compensations, which they are working on all of that.
Additionally I am not sure what other answer you would want with regards to the issues. "The issue is known and the dev team are working on it, please be patient" is pretty much the only thing any of us can ask for at this point. Does it make it less frustrating? Probably not, but we aren't out to lie or promote false information. We aren't going to say it's going to be fixed or "done" on X day when we don't have that info, and sometimes some *thing* catches at the last minute and whatever update isn't as ready to go as it may have looked to be anyway. So the only thing left is to acknowledge the problem and that it is being worked on. Until the issue(s) is resolved there isn't much more to say.

Assembly ores CAN drop when destroying NPCs, just like booty boxes CAN drop when destroying NPCs. This isn't a lie; and when they don't drop, cargo is there just as it always has been. I'm sorry you don't like booty boxes or whatever, but some people are collecting them, and some people want assembly resources to drop, and some people don't care about picking up cargo. Put simply: there are many different people playing this game with different goals in mind with what they want to do and how they want to play it.

So many of these subjects have been battered on again and again, most of this thread is duplicating to rehash those.
