[SC] Banning for exploiting baffles me!

Im a bit baffled by this and wondered if any other players could explain it to me.

It would appear from the complete lack of ban ways for using 3rd party programs (bots) that Dark Orbit are content for this activity to take place. Why on earth then would they take a strong stance and ban players for exploiting a bug. I dont see the difference between using a free bot and gaining unfair amounts of uri, exp etc etc, but gaining similar through exploiting a bug in the game is in some way different and unfair? I personally don't see any difference between the two , and if your going to allow one then why not the other.

I mean for all the things wrong with this game, bug exploitation is quite far down the list.

If any players have any ideas why DO are taking a stance against bug exploiters then would be interesting to hearing your thoughts.

tbh i think if you exploit or bot you should be banned you have no idea how much botting annoys me... you are playing a game... a game that is supposed to be fun as thats what games are made for to enjoy you're self somewhere along the line some absolute pleb has got it in there head that they need to win everything and ever since then gaming has become a task i still enjoy most games i play heck i still enjoy this game but there will come a point where people just turn there backs and find something actually fun that doesn't let bots do what they want and they actually ban them if you bot or exploit you deserve what ever comes you're way in my opinion.

Lack of visible action does not equal consent to do such things(cheating etc)... that appears to be your issue here. Say for example:

A) They just haven't been able to catch people in some forms of rule breaks/cheating yet (still).
or
B) Are shadily quietly turning a blind eye/tolerating some forms of rule breaks... (since yeah, there has been no announcement saying "you can do this")

Latter(B) would be pretty screwed up and I don't know why you'd want to believe that. But lets assume that's how it is and BP is selectively choosing who to ban. Well, good luck to anyone playing cat and mouse if they actually think that's the case... cause they've just been reminded there is consequences for rule breaking/cheating.


For say botting, well seems obvious BP's policy is to just not give any status updates on their "script" - aka "we're getting closer"/"we aren't closer" which isn't surprising(since bot creators would see that). So again A or B...

Though if these hard hitting bans keep up, it will start to look funny if some people still think: "They wont ban botters, they're too large a percentage of the player base and they spend a lot of money"

 

Botters and Cheats Don't spend money on this Game. They bot their Uri, so they aren't Buying any. They may get Premium, but that is no cash cow. But they DO Buy their "Subscriptions" ( and I am not talking about Booster or anything Legal in this Game.) So how can a Percentage of something that is NOT Legal in the TOC be making Dark Orbit all this money enough to turn a blind eye to it all. This all began 'in house' btw if you all don't know. They don't realize that they might get a lot more Players to come to this Game if they eliminated the cheats over all (or got rid of the one making it) instead of losing Players to other games similar to this one, because that IS what's Happening.

 

I have no idea but feel like much of the game is psychological. And it seems that many different programs for cheating slip through the filter. It can be questioned. Could it be that DO earns in this way when honest players get angry and spend more money?

They're both being banned, end of story.
Save a "botter's" profile link, and check back on it after a week, you'll find that it no longer exists because that account's been banned/disabled.

 

This is so ongoing story. Always comes up another and , kind of virus, which change's name when old was gone Tribute all whos play fair game

 

Those people that are banned are most likely not coming back because they are the type of people that have the brain to see that this game is too expensive and time consuming, and if they can't really get passed that fact that they have to spend hundreds to play then they will just play another game, and considering GA1 alone had more than 120+ people banned well the game is going to be dead if they don't come back.

Those coming back in 7 days are probably just going to bot all that rank back in 6 months to a year anyways and you won't see them on the maps like before so that will kill the game even more and botting will ironically become worse.

If Unity doesn't come out by December nobody is going to be able to play anyways.

This ban wave honestly was just a huge waste of time, DO has bigger problems presented before them and ironically this hurts free and legit players more because now they get to be the only people left playing this game. Wallet warriors well they are just foolish if they spend that money on this game and legit/free players are forever going to be below UFE anyways because this game takes forever if you don't spend money.

So in the end those that got banned won anyways because not only do they pay literally a fraction of what the legit players pay and the fraction of the time, but also they get to come back and get their rank back very quickly because they are the only ones able to compete in the first place and they also get the priviledge of forgetting about DO in 7 days while you guys stay addicted to this game.

So this ban wave changed nothing whatsoever except potentially kill the game assuming they don't come back.

I would say that the players won the battle but the cheaters won the war years ago lol.

Every Single Person who got banned got to where they were by Botting, using the Tool, Auto-locking and using every cheat in the book! They got to where they were by hitting a button and walking away for hours on end or when they were playing, they had additives to use to Cheat their Butts off! And your laughing at the people who actually play this game fairly? Who start a game and build up a ship on their own, who actually fly the maps and Do their Quest alone or with their clan mates? Who get somewhere in the Ranking of their own Accord?

You really sound like one of the people who got their main banned in this Ban Wave. You think Banning the Cheaters would kill this Game?
More like Save the Game. Everyone who got Banned, Please Do Not Come Back! We don't need your Attitude in here anymore. It is because you People exist is what was killing this game.

Go try your cheats in the Real World. Get a Job and try to Cheat your way thru your work day. You won't last long of course.

And because the Management of this Game finally did something about it, you come in and say and I quote

That tells me your either someone who got Banned or a Very close associate!

I say Dark Orbit finally Saved Themselves.

 

Looking back on this post, plus looking at the overall game, progress isn't actually slow.

The ONLY issue is PvP, THAT is the reason why players find themselves in a drastic slow-down situation; it's literally a scenario where opposing players LITERALLY prevent users from playing the game.

There have been a ton of initiatives lately to attempt to fix that. But you also have to remember that the goal is to satisfy EVERYONE. Can't "nerf" PvP too much and satisfy all the PvE players, but hurt the PvPers. There are arenas, but they're not rewarding to PvPers. Still going to take time and experiments to fix that. There are still on-going tests in the background to see what solution out of countless would be viable.

 

I don't know about that. I was doing Gates yesterday and found that they were actually running alot smoother and Faster than in the last months since the lag started

 

Saw a huge rank change today so the ban looks like it was just a slap on the wrist.
