So now bigpoint has been sold a long with darkorbit, how long do you think itll take them to realise them smaller servers make no money for them? Whats going to happen if they decide to start closing servers down ? Uridium wars closed and all accounts were just deleted. At a time when the games are dying you go and sell it, showing no heart for it any more.

Chinese firm will buy all available stock in the German free-to-play company

The Chinese online publisher Youzu Interactive has reached a deal to buy all the available stock in Bigpoint, one of the oldest companies in Germany's free-to-play industry.
Should the deal make it through Chinese acquisition processes, it will complete on April 16 this year. The value of the deal was not disclosed, but it covers the entire spread of Bigpoint's operations, which includes offices in Hamburg, Berlin, Lyon, Istanbul, Seoul, San Francisco and Malta.
Bigpoint, which was founded in Hamburg in 2002, had grown to 800 employees by 2011. However, it was forced to axe 120 jobs the following year as it's plans for expansion into the US faltered. On Linkedin, the company is listed as having between 201 and 500 employees.
In a statement released today, the two companies stressed the reach global reach they will have as a joint force, "with significant market share in over 200 countries worldwide." Bigpoint's next release, Hocus Puzzle, will have a worldwide marketing budget of more than €30 million - evidence of a "new era" for the German company.
"With this collaboration, Bigpoint begins the next chapter in its history focused exclusively on the quality of titles published," said Bigpoint CEO Khaled Helioui in a statement. "With the support of Youzu, we will be able to further invest in our talent, the amazing experiences they create and the reach of our games."

For me its a shame to see theyve already put another 30million towards a new game, which could draw more players away from this one

There is an old saying " A new brush sweeps clean " and the new brush might just want to clear out all but the most profitable games and make room for its mobile game apps and steal a slice of the big pie that a certain company ( think of a crown ) as more than its fair share of. DO as been on the decline for a good while now and the decline seems to have the same time scale as the growth of the smart phone and mobile internet, could this be the death chime for a game that could be once more be great.

  15. Be prepared for the flooding of cheap, Chinese bulk goods-
*cheap LF4 and B03 are coming soon*
...and some strange Chinese anime voices

I'm so excited, finally...I hope they work a little on D O. It can be profitable, if they do it right.

No, but they will add bird wings as a comostic.

  18. Or Chinese events.

  19. Lets see what happens May 1st and if they make it to their 10th anniversary as they talked about in their first TWITCH TV stream. My guess is D O is going to be reduced to a game for smart phones and the computer player is going to be left in the dust as B P crumbles to the Chinese pressure and purse strings tightening.
