[SC] Boxing doubler,worth it or not?

(I checked some older threads but couldn't find a satisfactory answer.)
Is it worth it at all?

 

It used to be but with the anti-bot penalties not so much anymore. It was more valuable when you could sit in x-8 boxing and killing StreumeR's all day or in the Battle Maps with the 1.5 multiplier, but since they have started nerfing the boxes after a couple of hours of play time it is not as economical, that and the fact they are having so many issues with it working at all leads me to say it is not worth the money.

 

What do you mean by this? I missed this could you explain?

Anyway I would say boxe doublers are only worth it when special boxes with SAR, PLD and other valuable items are available.

 

TBH Box Doubler have been useless since the days of 25 to 30k plus per hour and thats without pet and bio. And with every
event in recent memory DO have made it even more useless. In the process getting people who bought it PO when they found
out they didn't work on events.

 

The system implemented to punish the botters that affects all players that box longer than a couple hours, the amount of items drop substantially and if continued too long you get nothing from the boxes (like in x-1 map after a certain level you get nothing for collecting on that map).

 

Does it reset after like a day or so?

 

People have said they box for 2 hours then do something else for 2 hours then return to boxing but again that is not the way the doubler was originally supposed to work. I paid to be able to use it any time I wanted to and as such I should not be punished because I am doing what I need to do to advance in the game, as long as I am not CHEATING I should not be punished, especially if I am spending MONEY on the game. IMHO D O should use a "Are You Still Here?" system before applying any reduction of collection punishment (kinda like the original botter detection "Captcha" system).

I don't spend time boxing anymore, I kill NPC's while the PET collects the B B's and with the lag of the notification system have no idea what I am getting anymore (unless I keep my mini log open all the time). This game has just gotten to be about the PAY to PLAY and Galaxy Gate Bashing instead of the social connection and "group hunting (PvE or PvP)" it used to be about.

 

The interesting thing is that while boxes are being nerfed after a few hours, gates are not... They do not want people to collect bonus boxes to much, but they do want people to be in galaxy gates? Strange...

Sorry to hear they nerfed your income, guess we'll just have to deal with it.

Knowing this it might be best to give up boxing alltogether...with the only exception being good rewards.

btw I doubt there is a time cap, a box cap would make more sense. I wonder where it starts...

 

Why would gates be nerfed? You have to pally, box, or spend uri for the energy spins. As time consuming as the first two are, I can't see them limiting building of the gates as it takes so many spins to open one anyways. Trust me, I know that some players open gates in 10 min with uri, Hades Anyone?

The boxing cap is real but with so many attacks in the battle maps, you almost don't have to worry about it while there. Box, defend, box more. I just let my pet box while I kill npc as well. The only problem is they have messed up the pet now. It don't pick up anything but normal boxes, and your lucky if it does that right.

For the OP, the doubler really depends on your style of play. If you are in a boxing phase, it is probably good for you. A lot of players just concentrate on boxing and then build gates or handle their tough missions with the ammo they gain from it. But other than that, I don't see spending the cash. If your like me and just run around the maps all the time, I can't see it happening. I can get better results from the grocery store.

 

1)I agree,nerfing gates isn't good.They already give poor rewards to begin with.
2)I don't know,i need 7,552 million uri to do some stuff but i also have a buffed up ship.Apparently though,it isn't worth my money,better buy 2 months of rebate with the same amount of money.

 

Buy the weekly and only when you plan on spending a lot of Uridium. If just spending on ammo you do not get the money back, better to use it on MHH (get a 66% discount) I would buy the rebate if I was doing Upgrade Bonus Hour or had lots of PET Gear purchases to be made or other Uridium purchases where you get lots of extras with the Uridium saved. I also tied these purchases to the % off sales , seen in shop or GGM if building Gates with Uridium (usually NOT).

Buy the weekly 1, and only when u are going to use it, i used to buy the weekly 1 whenever i was going to spend a lot of uridium, like on upgrade hours/logfiles sale/keys sale/rsb or pem sale/etc.

Nowadays that im ufe, i just buy 1 year premium, and then buy the weekly rebate whenever im going to do gates(usually on Sunday).
I usually do gates only once a month, since its boring and with 1 entire day doing A/B/G is enough to get x4 for the whole month.

 

1)What do you mean by "pem"?
2)Do you get enough x3 by clicking A/B/G so you can use them or do you use x2?

 

1)Sry i mean EMP, im used to play darkorbit in french/spanish mostly.

2)I only use x3 if i need it, i use x1/x2 for every wave except B/G Kristallon, for Kristallon i use x3/x4.

Note that i do the gates with maxed damage(UFE/double boosters/havocs/etc) and with Sempron.

 

Box doubler doubles aurus drops, and i bought for a week for this.

 

Not worth it if you have at least 30 lf4 at your ship.

 

I have 45 level 16 lf4s,
its always worth it to get 3 for 1 drops.

I feel sorry for you if you can't spend 1.99 a week.

 

Lol,ofc i can spend 1,49*€ per week.I just want to invest my money on something that is worth it.
