[SC] Drill or PET?

My ship is 8 iris, 3 lf3 goliath atm. What should i get first? Drill formation or PET(leveling for kamikaze)?

 

Of the two I would pick the drill, a pet being able to use lv. 3 gear needs a lot of Uri. And why just two options you may need something even more important so what are your stats along with eqm. and how do you play the game. The forums are filled with people with a lot more info. then me and they do like to give it out and then bicker which advice is the best.....ha.

With only 3 lf3s I would buy a leo and build that ship up saving your Uri. and then start building up a vengi ( don't use the vengi until it can be filled ) then start on your goli.
As for formations I recommend the diamond to start.

i woudl go for pet drill will not do much dmg for you at the stage your at and dont use your pet untill u are ready because you will use pet fuel up and have to spend uri on buying more and if you are not prem pet is a waste

If you were to buy a pet first and spend a little extra on lvl 3 protocols like kamikazee, your pet will eventually pay for the drill formation from the uri collected. Also your pet will give you extra damage just like drill would because you are equipping an extra 10 lasers on your pet.

 

jackknife is too much. But he is right, lots of players that love to throw advice. In my case I would say, get the pet. Since you are just starting out, there are several reasons why it is best to go ahead and get it. First of all so you can get it leveled up to level 8 and get level 3 gear. This takes time. Time of which it must be out as you are killing things so it gains experience no matter if it is actually doing something or not. But while it is out, put a laser on it so it can help you shoot and kill stuff.

Now on the bad side, yes two sided coin. The pet is expensive like the ship itself. It uses pet fuel that cost uri. You have to pay with uri to open slots on it. These slots are expensive, but necessary in order to add more lasers, shields, gear, and protocols. In the beginning the gear and protocols are not as great, but in order to help you out, I would get a auto looter and collector gear. These will be level 1 at the start and will not have great range, but can help you box and collect ore around the maps. Then get a trade gear so you don't have to make trips back to base to sell ore. It takes 5 minutes at level 1, which seems like forever but you spend that much time going from x-3 or 4 map back to x-1 map anyways. You could be killing and collecting in that time. Don't bother with the repair gear, especially at this point as players love to just pop the pet and when you get to level 3 gear, if you have prem, you will not want to have your hp on the pet up anyways so you can Kami.

On the flip side, you can get the drill, have a little, very little at this point, boost in damage, and no wingman to help you get things done.

 

With only 3 lF-3 on the Goliath ship I would recommend the PET with the Auto-looter so it can collect boxes while you are killing NPC's. Fill the Protocol slots with Radar so the PET will travel further away from you, but as suggested do not buy too many until you get to level 8 and able to get level 3 gears and protocols. The more gears assigned the more fuel the PET uses, but as a looter he collects more Uridium than he costs.

As PSK~SUNDANCE says if you plan to use Kamikaze then you do not want the repairer and definitely want to have Premium if using it. It does work well, at level 3, to take care of the accumulated trash NPC's when taking on a larger NPC in the maps so you don't have to drag it to the portal. The Trader at level 3 is only 30 seconds so it really pays to get the higher level items just remember the items bought for the PET are not upgradable and are Uridium down the drain before level 3.

 

when i came back to the game i was normal fe, i brought diamond first lol. pretty useful
