So the other day my 16 year old nephew came to stay and he watched as I played Darkorbit. I was sorta hoping to recruit him as a player.
He has Autism, so he says it how it is!
He watched as I did a few missions on my almost UFE GB1 account. The first thing he noticed was Jackpot Euros when I picked up a bonus box. I had to tell him "They are useless now, it has been almost 2 years since they cancelled that". "So why don't they just remove them from the boxes if they don't do anything" was his reply.
I always pick up cargo (Seems a shame to waste it even though I have plenty of credits lol) so the second thing he noticed was the severe lag in the log at the top of the screen. "You picked that up 5 minutes ago and it is only just showing up".
So then I logged onto my GE1 server noob and went to 2-2 to do my daily mission of 50 strueners. "Wow, this one is a lot busier" he said. I had to explain to him that 90% of the ships there were botters and that's why it was so hard to find a streuner that wasn't already being shot. "Well why don't they just ban those cheating people?" he asked.
I then went to 4-5 to try to pop a few more ubers for a mission and was popped in seconds by a UFE player. "That totally wasn't a fair fight" was his comment. I replied "He has probably spent a lot of money to get so powerful".
His reply to that really made me think, hence this post. "Is he mad spending money on something so broken?"
Frankly I was embarrassed by the game. Some food for thought for the dev team methinks.

Umm, well that's kinda the point of this post - Nothing happened! I was hoping he would sign up for an account on his laptop when he got home and have some fun helping him on the maps. But because of the things I posted above that we pretty much accept as just part of the game and stuff they haven't got around to fixing yet, he wasn't interested and despite being a keen gamer he went back to his PS4 and Xbox1.

I can see his point, I mean for example it was July 2015 when they stopped the JPA yet the boxes still give the euros. If I had paid real cash for a boxing doubler I would be pretty annoyed that a percentage of what I picked up was entirely useless. It is probably two lines of code in the Random Number Generator that gives the bonus box rewards but after almost TWO YEARS they still haven't bothered....

Apparently the game seen through fresh eyes looks amateurish and doesn't attract the new players we so badly need for the server populations, and Uncle Aza felt like a fool for spending so much time playing it.

  5. TBH It looks the same from old decrepit eyes tooo_O Really hoping this new team can bring some Professionalism and Creativeness to
the game. The Exploitation of Newbs and the Game Community has to stop. Their gonna have to start treating us an the game with a bit more respect. Then we can bring fresh blood to the game:cool:OSRS When they reload the game this next time all this Underlying Exploitive Patch Work Crap better be fixed.

  6. For the cost associated with the game. It should be flawless. You have to buy everything in micro-transactions. Even a premium sub is not even a drop. To really play as they have designed it its far more expensive than any other AAA title.

What has been missed by the ENTIRE team is the what keeps the game rolling and its the players. Treat them continually as less than the strange thing on your shoe. And they will leave.

Figure out customer service. Begin lowering costs along with boosting rewards. (BALANCE TO COST SERIOUSLY) and the numbers will begin to rise.
