[SC] Event timing

Hello everyone,
I play in USA 3 server, i am from India. i want to talk about events timing. Every single event is made for USA players and they getting stronger cause of it. i think its unfair cause we also paying you money. you need to start Asia SERVER or give events 24 hours or any other option.
every time event starts when its night or mid night in India ( Asia ) .
If we attend event can't sleep and if we don't sleep can't attend school , college and office next day.
Hope admins you reply to this post and find solution.
else i am going to leave this game, I am not interested in paying you to play this game without events.

there is a server called GA4 (Global America 4) which was formally called Global Asia a long time ago, but I think it is quiet there now... I think the servertime is still set to SE Asia... or the EU servers are closer to your timezone... I also suffer from this but I choose to play US so that is my problem... occasionally they do run Icy etc at earlier servertime but not enough if you want to build a ship..

 

reason you are meant to play on the server from your timezone its your choice to play what ever server you want but at the end of teh day its for there timezone not 1 for everyone from other country's

 

This is funny as not everyone here in the US is able to do the events either, for the same reasons. We have school, work, family, events, and oh yeah sleep. I work in the evenings, when most daily events start, ei ICY... The winter stuff was horrible but managed to get through. Hopefully you find a time to do what you can. As pointed out above, you should test out some of the other servers that could be closer to your time zone if US servers are so problematic for you. I also play GB1/Turkey/Germany, which may be a happy medium for you, but GA4 may be right up your alley, as pointed out by theOtherKey. There is not a server for "my" time zone so I pick what I want.

i am not going to start again after getting closer to the hall of fame.
2ed after spending dollars from 4 accounts i can expect this from bigpoint to give us events on our timezone.
or just switch our ship in another server thats also fine. and i have my 12 friends in real life who play darkorbit with me so its just not about me its about total 13 players.( and almost 40-50% players from USA3 from Asia )

And when i started i searched in the list there was no Asia server , and if global america 4 is based on Asia time they just need to rename it as Global asia and create new server list at least new players from Asia will start in perfect server.

It used to be Global Asia, but they lost whatever pact they had out that way so had to rename it. It would help if they listed time zones next to the global server names so people know what they are dealing with. After you have played/paid so much, I think you already know the score with DO.

 

Well i am agree with that, they need to do that.

 

GA4 is based on west coast time zone, it is just 3 hours behind east coast servers. It used to be Global Asia and was based in one of the SEA time zones I think. It was moved and renamed to a west coast server due to laws in Asia restricting DO from updating certain aspects such as booty boxes as they were considered gambling.

These sort of time zone / event timings threads show up every so often, the times the events are on are done so that the most amount of people can access them - that does not mean absolutely everyone though.

The only thing that is limited to certain hours this event is the Disguisor NPC, you can see the schedule for it at the bottom of the FAQ.

Throughout the event it covers a range of 14 hours and on a couple of days it runs for 12 hours continuously. Shouldn't have too much trouble doing the NPC if you really, really want to.

 

I am sorry »»THE•GAME«« that you feel you cannot change server and I have to say I have checked and Okapi32 is correct.. the GlobalAmerica4 server is actually running on USA west timezone (dont see why if the server is no longer based in SE Asia so why not use the servertime to SE Asia localtime).. but I will say that you will find some players from your area on that server...
I have a good ship in US but it has taken longer as I cannot participate any more than you but as has been said by Okapi32 the event times are/will be to have the maximum local members available...

 

Yup I miss most of the events that they give at 7 pm to 10pm do to my work and travel time. Plus i've been whinning about this for years, the only thing that ever change was I got over it , lol . Till next time.

 

Actually its only possible to enjoy that Disguisor NPC for 2 hours i think. that Disguisor NPC going to spwan on 12:00 -23:59 in india it will be 10.30 pm. i just want to say give some events 24 hours ( not spaceball and others only special events which run for 6-8 days in year ) so everyone can enjoy them. hope you get my point.

 

What you playing on us server for when ur in asia? play on ge servers or france or turkey

Servers have always been set to a SERVER TIME. It has been this way for ever and is not going to be changed for anyone. The fact that D O has decided to have the Special NPC's come out at special times instead of all day is just because they found too many people exploiting the fact they were able to be on when others could not be and thus made it specific to prime time for that server. Sorry you chose a server that was so far from your timezone.

Yeah true I have that problem too on GA3. I usually only catch the tail end of things when the busy period starts.

Just out of curiosity which server (in terms of timezone) is the best for someone playing from New Zealand?

This is not something that we as admins have any control over as we do not set times for the usual events listed on the backpage & such. However this is something we have raised in the past when it's come up as not everyone playing a US server is from the US, and not everyone playing the GB servers is from that side of the pond as well.

Although as said above, these are set to local server times and the theory would be to have them accessible for most of the server population. Unfortunately even for local users, sometimes times clash and people will miss out due to work, etc.
In short, there is no perfect time that is going to allow everyone to participate try as anyone might. On occasion there are all-day events, but some of them die down through the day or people get a bit burnt out after pouring hours into trying to maintain scores for the company.
