  1. Hi All,

    Question:

Is there a game controller that can be used for a computer and D.O. too?

I have a PC with Windows 10. To play the game I use a mouse. I'm not a big computer gamer and use the mouse for most if not all games I play.

The reason I'm asking is, I have a hard time locking on to the enemy. It usually takes me several tries, and mainly when they stop. Sitting still is mostly when I lock on so I can attack. Sometimes I can get them moving in with a lead lock on.

  2. IF you found a programmable controller that could emulate the functions of the MOUSE you might be able to use it, but then I have not been able to find anything that emulates the ball movement of the mouse.

  3. As far as i know there is none gotta use a mouse or touch pad

  4. You can get controllers for the PC, of which most will come with software and/or drivers which you can use to customize the environment. In this case of using one for D.O, you would most likely have to, for example, bind the "A" button to simulate the left mouse click, and keep it pressed to simulate the "Mouse Down" and "Mouse Up" functions (in some cases you would have to tell the software this is what you want to achieve), and then use the "stick" to move the mouse cursor.

When it comes to clicking a target, as the Mouse Down function has been called by the bind of the "A" button, a click would be pretty hard to do, as the Mouse Down would have to call a Mouse Up function to allow a reset of the function to include another Mouse Down to select your target, and then, again, you have to recall the "A" Mouse Down to fly around while shooting said target. To me, that would be a nightmare.

All things are customizable in this day and age, and I would imagine most controllers designed for use with the PC genre will come with said software for achieving what you want/need to do.

Further to you comment of the "lead lock on", this is a good tactic, good players will learn and adapt to the fact of using the cursor to intercept a ships or NPC's flight path and click a split second before the target is actually under the cursor, causing a mid split second lock, I do it with pirates, GG's are also good practise for this.
    Regards,

    LAGI.
