[SC] Good P.E.T setup for boxing?

Hey guys/girls,

I am spending a lot of time on boxing on PvP maps lately, as I am trying to box my gates and get some nice amount of uridium from boxes to spend it on upgrades/buying new stuff and so on.

Couple of things to note:

• don't have box doubler
• Tractor Beam II(5/5, just building my new skill tree)

For now, I am using only 5 lvl 3 Radar protocols on my P.E.T. This gets me 6k uridium per hour (average, sometimes more - without Tractor Beam II) and 50 GG spins (average, sometimes more - without Tractor Beam II). I was preety satisfied with this stats for some time, but I think I can do a bit more than this.

I have been looking on the internet and have found a lot of threads/questions about this matter, but most of them focus on box doubler.

So, I would like to ask you to share what you have found as a best setup for P.E.T boxing (without having box doubler)? How many salvage protocols? Or a mix of salvage/radar protocols? Or maybe full radar protocols?

One side note is that I am more interested into gaining maximum uridium/GG spins per hour than per box. Basically, I am looking on the longer run

PS. Just a short note: I have updated my post cause today I am reworking my skill tree to have Tractor Beam II (5/5). So from today, I will be boxing with that skill tree bonus for boxes.

 

9 salvage and 3 radars= 5 gg spins with box dub and tractor beam 2.

 

Thank you for the feedback. I am not interested into the box doubler (for now ), but I will do the maths about the GG spins. What about the uridium? How much you get per hour?

 

I believe that the identical is this:

• 3 lv3 radar
• 9 lv3 salvage
• auto-looter 3
• box doubler*
• Tractor Beam II 5/5

With this, when I box in PvP, I get 4 spins and my pet gets 5. Uri I get is 72,180 & 360 and my pet's max is 91, 229, 457. On spaceball, I get 24 spins and my pet gets 30.
*If you won't use box doubler then just count everything I said halved.
But this strategy is the best I think. I've made several same threads when I was building it.

In the past days I have read a lot of threads (some of them were yours too, your avatar seems familiar to me), but didn't found some configurations like this: salvage/radars and the amount of udirium/GG energy people get.

Can you please tell me how much uridium per hour you get, approximately?

 

On average with the 5 points I said, I make 10k uri and 100 spins per hour (my record is 14,5k uri and 129 spins at 50 mins but that was rare luck that day lol).

 

10k uridium with box doubler? If so, I find it a strange a bit cause without box doubler and pilot tree I am able to make 6k uridium.

 

I said 10k on average, and I'm not that lucky on boxes..

Running without doubler is a big loss... Also

Best setup is:

Box doubler
auto looter 3
3 level 3 radar
9 level salvage
Tractor beam 1 & 2
Luck 1 & 2

(NOTE: LUCK ONLY AFFECTS URIDIUM FROM BOXES)

they have the 2.50 for a week option. its works well for me. good luck to you, boxing is the best way to build a ship quickly imho.

 

Yeah, everything I have achieved in this game so far is by boxing. That works the best for me too. I think I will get doubler soon, but first need to create my skill tree with Tractor Beam II and get some Salvage protocols.

 

I think that 5pp for 12% more uridium is a complete waste..

 

It may be not a waste if you are boxing with doubler all the time Otherwise, yeah, it is a waste.

 

Luck 2 is not waste. However if you like shooting aliens too then I would go for hybrid: tracktor 2/alien hunter.

 

Actually you need only for radars

2 level 3 radar

DO nerfed the PET to only go to the boxes near you, but if you are running, the PET will collect as far as your radar stretches.

 

I am using right now 5 Radars, and so far it works perfectly. I have thought of maximizing the gained uri/GG spins, so I think I will get 7 Salvage protocols to fill the other slots that I don't use. With Tractor Beam II, my P.E.T will collect 41% more from boxes. So far, sounds nice for me.

 

Just a reminder, if you ever use box doubler, you'll need 9 salvages for your pet to get 5 spins.
Also 5pp feels just too much for only 12% more.. The Luck skill is wrong anyway. It should increase the frequency you find uridium and not make them more. That is luck for you
