[SC] Help me choose the right equipment to start off

I have recently returned to the game, after a long pause from the game. The first thing I noticed is that the game has changed a lot. Not the same game as it was years ago, but my honest opinion is that the game has changed for good.

Now, that made me some troubles, to be honest. Too many new weapons for credits, new shields for credits and crafting. Overall, back in the years, it was very straight forward - get LF-3's, then go for LF-4's.
I came here to ask for your advise, to guide me what equipment is the best to buy as a newbie, and on what equipment next I need to focus.

BO-2's and speed generators - I will buy them from auction, no doubts here. Same goes for Irises. What about the lasers? Which one I should get now, when I am low level and with no equipment? Spectral Lancer II (SLL-02, 300k credits) seem nice for players who don't have any equipment at all. Am I right about this? Should I get them for now, or I should buy some others, like Scatter Laser I (SL-01)?

Next question: after I get credit lasers, on which lasers I should focus next? I see that new LF-4 crafting lasers are available, should I try and buy some LF-3's from auction, while also working on LF-4's?

Any other advise?

I hope that I have expressed myself well enough so that you can understand easily my doubts. Every feedback is more than appreciated, and it means a lot to me.

You expressed yourself very clearly.

And all you wrote is perfectly correct.

You should still focus on getting LF3s. And if Possible LF4.
BO2 is still the best shields and speed generators are same it was all the time.

So really the biggest changes are the ship designs. But you can read about them from the Hangar pressing button i.
The New cartable LF4s are a completely New edition that just started now. And make sure to do Daily and Weekly required quests for the craft able materials. That is all.

Do not upgrade your LF4s when you get them. Because crafting does not require that.

The credits 300k guns are great for the start. You were 100% on the dot there.

I am not sure how long you did not play this game. But I would suggest having a look to the drone formations. Just to familiarise yourself with those.

When we are talking about drone formations, which one would you buy first? I mean, it is too early for me to think about that, but would be nice to know when the time comes, hehe.

 

Be careful with the Spectral laser, there is a bug when using them in your drones. They will only apply the PvP damage against NPCs, if they are in your drones.

 

Thanks for the heads up. But I still think these lasers are the best option for me, at the moment. Even with full LF-2 lasers, I won't do higher damage compared to the SLL-02.
