  1. So of course there are some gear that will really depend on the play style of the player.
I only want to know how effective are some of these gears as I plan to obtain level 3 of them.

Combo Repair - Just needs a lot of Fuel to be used.

Combo Guard Mode - Confused about this one.

    Enemy Locator - Also confused

Cargo Trader - How does this work?

For the Protocols what would anyone recommend? Now that I know they stack when multiple are used, I plan to use these.

Cargo Protocol - I dunno how many, max?

    Bonus Box Protocol

    Fuel Protocol?

    Radar Protocol?

Any thoughts? My PET is now a level 8 and haven't unlocked most of its slots. I only plan to max out Lasers, Gear and Protocols.
Cause I like my pet being used for Kamikaze and collecting. The small bits of damage tend to help from stopping NPCs from healing.

  2. Enemy Locator is for NPC. when you have this you can locate any enemy that is on the current map you are on. How far your PET can search depends on how many Radar's you have on the PET.

This picture is Enemy Locator while I'm in the 4-5 map. As you see the list is quite long. Enemy locator will only show the list of NPC available in the map you are in.

This tool is very useful when doing missions and also very good when doing events such as "Icy Meteoroid".

Cargo Trader will add 30% value when selling your cargo using the PET. The plus has 2 sides, you get 30% more credits and you no longer have to fly to a base to sell. You can use in any map and while cruzing as well.

I have my PET setup for a multi-purpose type but leaning more towards PVP.

    Pet level 15.. 10 X LF4(upgraded lvl 16) ..17 X BO2.. Hit Points 197.6K..
    Shields 185.6K
    Pet Gear...all level 3..
Auto looter, Enemy locator, Rep, Cargo trader +30%, Kamakazi 75K, Combo ship repair, Auto Resource Collector
Pet Protocols all level 3 ..
Precision targeting +4%, Evasion +3%, Hitpoint +4%, Laser damage +4%, Alien damage +6%, Radar-x3, Bonus Box salvage +3%, Shield +4%

  3. The thing to remember is when using the Cargo Trader it is out of service for anything else for 30 seconds, if using Kamikaze you do not want to use any REPAIR as it will not explode with too much HP. You might want to read >this< to know more about the Gears and Protocols. DO NOT BUY Level I or II items except the bare minimal items. Cargo Protocol is a waste unless using for SkyLab Transfers and then it is only on the one ship you do this with all of the time (I use 4 so that my NON Premium Citadel can have 12000 transfers once a day), Cargo Trader or the Trade Drone (100 uses for $0.99 USD) is better for selling Cargo then to carry more on the ship.

  4. Gotcha, thanks for the help everyone.

@HelpMeHelpYou, I find the Cargo protocols useful if you're doing anything like Palladium farming. Or for Skylab Transfers as you mentioned.

  5. The Palladium farming is not worth the expense for the protocols as you "Park" a ship in 5-3 and 5-2 and then just log in/out to switch between the 2 ships/maps. Even if collecting the cargo boxes from the NPC's being killed the benefits are not that great, for the Uridium spent for them. Besides I find I can not Pally more than 2 hours without having to take a break (beverage/potty) and have never filled my Goliath Cargo Bay to where I could not collect more Pally during that time.

  6. When I Pally with my PET setup as shown above, I fill 4,000 cargo with Pally in about an hour.

Just thought I'd mention it. I don't just log and park, I cruise and collect as well. Some times I'll race my PET :D

  7. Full Throttle has the same tactic as me. I don't necessarily know about the parking part but I recently filled up my cargo and got 149 spins in total. 2,235/2,340 Palladium in cargo.

Helped me get some more parts for gates.
