  1. Okay so we had some bugs exterminated today but how many really effected the game play of most players? The Yellow text is from Tech Announcement the white is my comments about what they did.

We once again have a nice list of bugfixes that were just released with todays sync:
    • Fixed an issue that sometimes deducted Uridium twice for PET repairs

Reported in 2011 and was told it would be looked into, funny it took 7 years to fix it. Easy fix buy Premium no longer need to pay for PET repairs.
    • No more camping on ??? map
Another exploited thing that took a while to be corrected, how many times do we get to hear about these?
    • Fixed a display issue that caused the wrong amount of XP to be shown in the log after leveling up
How many people look at their logs unless we did not get what we were supposed to?
    • Fixed the image for Sentinel designs in the hangar
IF it was loaded properly the first time it would not need to be fixed
    • Players can no longer craft the Mimesis if it is already owned through other means
Seems like D O should have left it in so they could recoup the Assembly Materials they are fiving to us
    • Private room invites now work in Achat
Like anyone trusts Chat any more with it being broken more than being useable
    • Fixed an issue that caused the incorrect HP to be displayed when switching between Spartan and Hercules Drones
Another display issue was it just display or was it actually the wrong HP assigned to the ship?
    • Updated the description of Energy Leech with ammo restriction info
Those using Energy Leech are going to be upset about this, UBR ammo only
    • Added mission icons for ships in mission conditions
YEAH like we don't know what the ships look like
    • Fixed an issue that caused the cooldown time to be displayed incorrectly when leaving UBA or R-Zone
2 areas we have been told to stay out of as too many people get trapped in them
    • Fixed an issue that allowed more than 8 pilots in the Quarantine Zone at a time
Goody now we can be sure we get the proper split from going into the QZ
    • Fixed an issue that caused the amount of honor displayed to be different on the space map and website
too bad we can't get the rest of the Back Page/Client issues fixed

Things that are really important to us like purchased items not showing in client until we re-log, Pet Fuel, ammo, boosters, Formations, or if at base equipment we add to the ship like Cloak Chips or received LF-4's.

Why do we get informed of garbage fixes but the playability issues seem to go unnoticed? We really need to have the in game issues fixed so we can enjoy the game instead of these minor issues that most people did not even know about.

How about fixing the equipping issues everyone seems to be having when deleting configs for another ship and not having the equipment available until we logout and clear all computer stuff and then we might be able to get back into the Hangar to load the equipment, unless we have to delete the configs as we are told the equipment cannot be assigned to the slot we are assigning it to. A 5 minute ship change has become an hour long ordeal.

This is Speakers Corner so please let us sound off about this.

this is not funny at all.
DO devs are starting to do what they suppose to do.

    This is Great

  3. I would agree if it was something that really mattered in the game. But display stuff is not critical issues, as long as the records are accurate and the Honor and Experience read accurately that is the important thing. Again it has been 2 years since we were forced into this new Hangar and it was supposed to be so much easier than the old system and all I see is wasted time trying to make another ship flyable.

  4. Hi All,

It sounds like DO is counting the money, not correcting the problems.

  5. I am not encountering any issues with equipping/swapping ships. The only trouble in the game is the balance. Nothing else is an issue. Must just be on your end

I do not have any issues either. And the balance of the ships is coming.
    Just enjoy it

  7. I think they just fixed some minors before holidays, it take a lot of times to resolve somes bugs and they don't have a big team to fixed them ^^

They are doing things right but the biggest part and challenges is to succeed about server merges... this is obviously new and I think their team are doing this for the 1st time, and again don't expect too much ^^

I download the client Seafight... just to see and this is clearly not a big "improvement"; they just manage to create a programm which implement the browser.

Maybe if we pay more they will hire more developers :D:D:D

  8. They have already demonstrated that they have a download for DO, but they are going to wait before giving it out. This current team has taken care of a number of things that the last one would dismiss as us just complaining to complain. Merge was the first thing we were told was now going to happen when Baracus came in where it would be totally dismissed before, with a laugh. After about a year, the first merges are supposed to actually happen next month. I look forward to the outcome of it, no matter if it is smooth or not.

  9. As with all software, small fixes are released through "patches" of which fix only minor things, things which wouldn't really need to be changed or fixed based on the specific item. These small changes they make are just as important as any other fix or update. I like that they correct graphical errors such as text alignment, % values and other various errors or muck ups which have been dotted around for a fair old while.

This to me shows that they are looking at their websites and pages, and noticing the small problems and repairing them as they see fit.

You wouldn't want a game for example, which you have paid for in the shops or online, it turns up, and a part of the menu element of the game maybe, glitched and did your head to the point you wish they would fix it with a patch

For example, when Unreal Tournament 2004 was first released, it had no option to change the FOV (Field Of View) option, and it had to be manually changed via the console (~) with a command, when Epic Games discovered this through means of themselves or through the players, a patch was released, with a few more minor changes, and also the option in the Settings menu to change it via a drop down menu.

  10. YES I do understand this but the forums are full of "Known Issues" that would be great if just a few could be added to these minor items that do not affect the game as much as these other issues do. Like I said the double charge for the PET Repair has been in the game for several years, I reported it when the Protocols and Gears were for limited time and had to be bought again when this expired, before they became a permanent item at a much higher price. And getting Official Notice of them being fixed would be nice too.

That was probably fixed because new players don't know how the ships look like.

Not like we get many new players though...

  12. I am thinking of putting forward an idea of which has come to mind lately regarding fixes and/or issues which have been brought up by players or the devs themselves, yet to work the plan of it though.

  13. Just means they are lazy as I knew what all of the ships looked like just from being in Shop and Trade/Auction and now Hangar. Don't get me wrong, this is a good thing BUT there are much bigger fish to fry, that affects the game play much worse than lack of knowledge issues. I am just trying to point out most of these required little to NO effort to be fixed compared to the many LONG LASTING ISSUES that cause MAJOR issues for MOST players of a server, not just the few that are easily confused or did not figure out that owning a PET required you to have Premium and Rebate (30% discount on Fuel, Gears, Protocols, and Slots, plus FREE repairs) to maintain it.

I tried a Thread like this and it was closed immediately as "Known Issues" instead of being a thread where we could monitor what had been reported and what had been fixed. I wanted to be able to ADD NEW issues and "strike through" fixed issues to the OP so returning players could go to one "Sticky Pin" thread and see the problems still in the game and corrected since they left. I believe that you will need permission like Okapi32/OP32 had when he started the UNOFFICIAL: DarkOrbit Revealed thread to do this. Heck we could even have Date Reported, Issue, and Date Fixed in one posting Called "Current Glitches in the Orbit" where new problems are posted, added to the O P and deleted from the thread to keep it cleaner (granted this requires special authority to delete the posts). I do believe it would prevent so many multiple threads on the same issue when they appear. To go one further the Devs could also add things they reveal in the TWITCH Stream and the progress they are having on it and things that have been placed on the "Back Burner" could also be listed or struck thru as being deleted from consideration. Kinda like the "Equipping In Client" where everyone was up in arms about how long it would take to do this and how much of the boosters would be wasted and low and behold we were correct as they implemented the NEW Hangar, which was a part of this UPDATE, and now we spend 3 times the time changing Ships than we did before.

We do need to have a bit of accountability as to the problems in the game and what is being worked on and what is being ignored, especially since we have so many NEW faces making changes to a game they may or may not even play. What made this game so great in the beginning (pre-2010) was that the TEAM all played the game and made sure the update was going to work properly before adding it to the game. The change to the A I in the maps was probably the first major change that started the FALL from GRACE and has been compounded ever since.

But since the communications from the Dev Team to the Mods/Community is nothing like it was Pre-2013, we do not get near the information we were accustomed to.

Negativity. Take it elsewhere. The devs fixed some stuff and you complain. Makes no sense at all.

P.E.T was released in 2011. Sorry for being myself again tho. :-DD

Exactly this. And most of these even was useful stuff. It's nice to see how players are trying to swear and threaten devs to make something and when they make something, players always starts whining. :D

There is still some things that is not fixed in e.g. backpage and I don't think they're going to be fixed anytime soon, they prioritize things and active players finds new bugs, which might be prioritized anyways as more important bug fix than others. For now, I am worried more about game performance than bugs to be honest.

  16. I am trying to assign equipment to unused ships and find that I need to re-enter the Hangar or deal with Flash Lag as it tries to re-load the page after every piece I assign to the Ship/Drone. And still see others having issues with lost equipment or transfer issues.

Sorry my memory was off by a year you get the point it was here from the beginning and took till now to correct it.

You are hitting my point precisely, the game performance issues should be higher priority than the visual glitches they presented in this patch. I am not whining about the fixes but did you see any of the items they listed as a REAL Priority to the game performance?
