[SC] Many questions

I've come to a point in DO, i'm kinda lost but also just want some answers. I'm a level 17 normal fe with goli/veng and a level 12 pet with autolooter 3/kami 3/auto resource collector 3. i'm completely f2p apart from prem. i've done 1 alpha 1 beta, my hades is open from a newsletter gift a while ago, alpha 21/34 gamma 66/82 and zeta 98/111

1. How difficult is the elite event quest, and what sort of rewards does it give
2. How do i build alot of gates without buying uri, it's taking me weeks to finish a single gate
3. i've got around 270m creds atm, should aegis be my next goal - what should i use that aegis for
4. i've hit about 450m exp and my quests all seem really difficult, how do i progress?
5. what should i use uri for? zeta gates or anything else in particular?

 

Personally I wouldn't worry about quest right now.If your gonna start playing a lot you may as well start the road to UFE.
You need Apis and Zeus drones. Go pallying with your pet to get a bunch of gate spins under your belt. In a Vengie you
get 150 to 200 free spins per hour. Build Zeta's, use free keys on Zeus day or Helix Day(its would seem game gives a lot
of Apis parts on those days) and pray for a drone cover lol. Using this technique you can get your Apis for free and your
Zeus at a considerable discount.Use Log disk from gate generator to build up your Bio. Repeat until you have full Havoc,
Herc's and LF-4's

Save the uri you make for now As you will need several million uri to upgrade your skylab, ships and equipment so don't waste it
on things you don't need or things that won't help your ship much. Maximize all your resources.

 

Thanks for the answers, I already have a full level 20 skylab apart from sep module which is 16, is there an alternative to palla, i find it really boring and even in a veng i get popped ALOT. Also would drill be a good investment for killing bks and should i be trying to get a skill design? And do you know anything about the rewards that normally come from the elite event quests

 

If your are talking about the current event the rewards are listed in the NYX when you select the quest to do. They all have good rewards but the collection quests take forever because you do each one in order. With the Booty Chest days going on you are not getting the cargo from all of the larger NPC's so don't expect to kill BBK's to accomplish the quest quickly. Most are fairly easy they work well if in a group (you get credit for their kills also, long as you are shooting or being shot).

You have not mentioned how much BIO you have done, have you got max shield and fat lasers (at least). These are things I would recommend completing. Specialty ships should be your last concern, but the Aegis is a good ship if fighting in groups all the time as you can help repair members of the group, it is not that good at individual fighting. Have you got a ship PARKED at the 5-2 base to sell your ore (more credits there, unless clan has CBS).

You were told the fastest way to build gates and scoffed at it, either BUY Uridium or collect Pally there is no other way of building them fast.

The gates you want to build are the gates that give LF-4 or Drone designs (if not aware of these go to FAQ's in forum and they tell what each gate gives you.

When you have over 1 Billion credits then think about bidding for ship designs and other specialty ships, some of the Goliath designs (weekly AUCTION) go for over a Billion each.

My friends and I have our accounts level 15 (started 2 months ago) to almost 20 (80 million away) and as our schedules conflict never play together. We have done this by doing quests and if wanting to level up the quests are the best way to do it. They no longer help to build the ship as they pay crap in Uridium but are great for credits and Experience. Also, unless we were just in a hurry, we have done most of the quests SOLO. UBK's seem to be our kryptonite as none of us can kill these or get groups together to do them.

Thanks, I was told the final event quest gave considerably better rewards, but i cant find whether this is true and if so what sort of rewards it'll give.

I've only done 7 pp so i've nearly got bubble shield, i do have a ship in 5-2 but i normally forget to use it to sell when i do, and i usually just forget to send from skylab

I guess i'll have to palla, i just find it hard to do and people on my server have said it's not too good so i was unsure.

I know about all the gates, i just wanted to hear some more opinions, everyone says different and i'd like to figure out the best way to do things.

I'll forget the designs for now and MAYBE get lucky from a booty, who knows

I too came back recently, 2-3 weeks ago now, i've gone from 150m to 480m exp in that time and made a ton of progress, i started about 6 years ago and i've played in very irregular bursts since, so i always feel out of the loop, my quests just seem to be getting really hard to do now

You mean an elite UBA expo quest? If thats what you mean atleast i dont see that any elite quest realted to expo would exist yet.

Aegis is a good all-arounder its a good goal.

A) Get to a clan that helps shooting aliens B) Ask for help in global chat C) Try it yourself

Until you have full havocs build zeta ater zeta. It gives back a good amount of uridium and nice amount of lgf and booty keys, just save booty keys to triple lf4 days or zeus days.

I guess it's mostly going to be a combination of b and c, boxing with pet whilst killing bks

i'll continue to go for it i'm now close to 300m credits so only about 150-200m to go

I'll try this, maybe i do need a different clan as mine seems fairly inactive, and usually when i ask i don't get any replies

After i get drill formation i think i'll go all out on building zeta's, the log disks/booty keys will help progress, along with havocs

I wouldnt consider buying drill, imo its very useless compared to its high price

well you should be able to do 1 zeta at least with those uris that you would spend on drill(150k), if you buy 2$ rebate pack then you should be maybe able to do 2

 

I did a zeta got my first havoc, dumped 50k extra uri into the gg again and got another 60 parts

 

congrats for that, just hope ou dont need to do a 40-50 zetas for full havoc like someones very unlucky guys/girls.

 

I really hope so im hoping to open my second today/tomorrow then hopefully the reward for the event quest will be good too.
Just one last question too, how strong do i ideally need to be for cube solos

 

You will need to have full bubble and FATS lasers along with sab and x-4 ammo to solo them. I have 9 LF-4's and 15 LF-3's on a Goli and solo them all the time. Anything less than the ammo suggested you may die before the cubikon does.

FATS has nothing to do with cubing... FATS is for PVP oNLY.

Along with the bubble, it is good to have diamond or heart, and 500+ shields on both configurations. You can solo with x2 or x3 ammo. Some, like me, do it with x1. I take that back, with me using x1, a lot of players must do it.

 

You are correct (according to the information given), but I do know, when I warp ships my lasers do not respond correctly and I hit harder after I have changed configs and got my lasers to adjust to show the BLUE of all LF-3 on ship and FATS. I don't know why I have to make the config change to get the results but I only hit about half if I forget to do this before engaging a NPC.

The reason I said x-4 ammo is you can do them with less than 300k shields on both configs, but then if the person wants to wait till they have that much shield before attacking a Cubikon solo more power to them.

 

You have fats so you will shoot them all the time. Alien hunter will give more power with cubing or doing any NPC. Depending on your lasers, and the ship/formation you use, having your more powerful lasers on the ship may or may not be the way to go. If your ship gives 5% and you are in heart, having all LF3 on ship is the way to go.

Oh and I agree, more powerful ammo, while more costly, will allow for less for shielding to get the job done.

 

Okay thanks guys, so with an aegis, 300kish shields, diamond formation and sab/x4 i could solo some cubes? Also can aegis use its abilities on itself?

 

Yes it can but it is not as much for you as it is for others (shield is 15 K/20 K). You can drop a repair pod as you are going to get hit the same whether moving or just sitting. A PET with level 3 Kamikaze would be helpful also (if Premium).
