[SC] Maybe it is time for some changes ?

    Hello,space pilots! I am playing the game maybe 5 years in same server. All i can say is that this server is going to die. But this is not why i am posting. I have wonder why for example, the citadel is so slow. Nobody use this ship,and we have a lot of quest for it. If the speed is 540,more people will use the ship. It is fashion now surgeon and pusat...
    My other offer is for map 5-1. Let there be more palla,maybe a few new aliens,to be more interesting. If you have other offers,i will be happy to read it.Regards...

    I dont think many would disagree that there are not enough players on the maps these days and there are several active Threads atm with different suggestions.... I dont think that the fact that there are many Quests for Citadels is the cause, there is also a Quest for 5x Nostromo and you dont see them as often as before... I think you are right that 'fashion' has a lot to do with it...
    The Citadel was designed as a group/outfit ship with special abilities relevant to its 'Tank' status (Tanks maybe not requiring great speed) in a group... it has been used in the protection of CBS but now with the UFE and UFE+ ships they are no longer as useful, or as used, as they were... I believe also that the issue of equipping them is an issue here... not whether you have the stuff but that unless you have zillions of lasers shields etc you have to de-equip your active ship in order to give the Citadel any power and this takes too long (the CBS is already dead by the time you get there :p)...
    I have suggested that Hangars should have equipment memories similar to the memory the Hotkeys have... I personally dont change my ships from Hangar to Hangar and so the basic equipment layout would stay the same and if I changed Hangar then I could tweak it quickly and then maybe we would see more Citadels used.... I am sure some would say this is not necessary but they probably have enough equipment to have all their ship/Hagars pre-equipped:rolleyes:

    The 5-1 suggestion about new NPCs I dont think anyone would disagree with that but as to more Pally I dont know... the current Quests in Pirates are set for the expected player density on each map (I dont like PvP quests in Pirates personally but...o_O)
     
  3. i agree that a few more pally would be good in 5-1, however realize that just getting the pally that is there is a challenge with the pirates that are present. When you are the only ship in the map, setting your pet with max range can prove to be difficult to pally while you have a convoy of sabs, barracuda, and anni's dogging your every move. I am sure a few Kami can help that but those guys are just mean and never ending.

    I fly 2 of the ships that have 1 quest each, Nostro and Big Boy. Its all I fly, mainly the Big Boy now. You would think I would see more attacks on me but they have died down, a lot. Best I would say is be patient with your citadel missions. They will come. People do fly them, just don't expect to get 500 in a week.
     
  4. 150 citidel in 5-1 is not going to happen there is no incentive to go to 5-1 map and with the multiple hanger no one fly to pirate maps anymore
    DO could put P.E.T.S in 5-1 those were good during the event and make that map ship specific so one would have to fly (spear, Ageis, Citidel) using any other ship in that map to get kills will result in a - honor/EP

    Let me start by saying, I agree with you on the ship issue. I do however understand the idea behind making it slower. It is harder to kill but I do think if all ships where closer in basic performance and offered different benefits such as the Venom ship design other ships would be more appealing. Plus there is no real advantage to uses most of the other ships because that are so inferior.

    Also take away the quests for killing players on the pali map. Make that map a no kill map for PVP.
     
  7. That shouldn't happen for numerous reasons...
    1. It would encourage people to pally since it is a 100% free way of earning spins with no risks - other than the pirates.
    2. This would allow players to grow their accounts to UFE status within a month without paying, something that only P2P players can do.
    3. This would encourage players to use illegal programming to get their account as far as possible within the shortest amounts of time.
    4. Even though it is against the T&C this would make more accounts for players to sell off to others for cash in real life. Although it's against the Terms and Conditions, players certainly do it as I've been messaged and contacted on Dark Orbit asking for my Social Media details so that they can ask me if I'm interested in buying/selling my account.
    There are probably a lot more reasons that I really can't be bothered to think about but the biggest reason is that Dark Orbit is a PvP game. This is why an enemy can kill you in any map except for at Demilitarised Zones. Making a map a PvP free zone would ruin that aspect of the game, effectively ruining the experience for everyone.

    They stopped the farming in the 2 maps they can apply it to the pally mad as well. They can even put more NPC's in the pally field. Having to pay for almost everything and having to pay so much for everything is the reason people stop playing this game. when you start a new account everyone is so much stronger than you, people quit playing. If DO/BP want to compete with other MMO's then they need to rethink their business model.
