  1. Hello everyone,

If you have been with the game for more than a few months, you will know that many things have changed recently. just to note its not recent its been for the past years or so not just last couple of months. We are making an effort to give all kinds of players access to previously expensive “power” items by adding the Assembly, no your not your making everything available to paying players that can afford large amounts of uridium, not the useless currency we call credits, that not aiming at all types of players. running special sales,( again not all types of players, only the paying players. to make them more affordable, no credit option thought lol, by introducing ship designs through Ship Customization and providing new approaches to progress in the content in general. yes this good but once again only if your willing to pay into the game, there no credit option for the credit players.

In the course of developing these things we had to touch several old systems, just reset the system and take it back to when this game started and then it will be playable for all levels of players, stop adding pointless updates and ships. – like the ship management or our item database. You might compare this to the refurbishment of an old and dusty clockwork: the clockwork still runs but there have been so many additions that at first we have to disassemble the thing, clean the cogs, repair and replace broken parts, and then put the whole thing back together. Sometimes this goes flawlessly, sometimes we find that certain cogs and wheels now do something unexpected. there was nothing wrong with this game when it was first released. but now it has a lot of problems and its due to poorly created items being released by who ever it is that geniusly created these updates and killed the game.

It is not our intention to release buggy or unstable updates, its simple stop rushing all these updates and release them realisticly but the impressively long live time of DarkOrbit offers a lot of unique challenges. The game has been organically growing for a long time and we sometimes fail to foresee all the potential issues that come with adding and repairing even tiny pieces of code.

Our QA has long lists of all the things that have to be tested over and over again, in every single new version we prepare for release – but in a game with this many complicated and interconnected systems, these tests can never cover all possible scenarios. Even a public beta test, where we activate the biggest pool of testers available to us, we can’t always reveal every remaining issue – as we witnessed again in the recent past. Sometimes they are not noticed as errors during OBT, and sometimes they only turn up under real live conditions.
ok with the beta testing it is unrealistic for testing especially on the do servers for testing, you release all these updates for do in a test server where all the players from multiple server have a large amount of uridium handed to them and they don't bother testing, strip back everything on the test server, only allow all player one variation of a ship that is for simple testing purposes. not just general game play like a lot of the players on the test servers do. if theres too many players and you canty keep up with the opinions then lower the gaming pool for each server to have a turn at testing the new releases and take it day by day for each server and the opinions of the game pool, your trying to hard in keeping up with so called demand for items. your forgetting the effect its having on the game, until its too late.

I don't see the need to hand players millions in uridium everytime they log on to the test sever and galaxy gates unless for testing shouldn't have gate for testing if there no testing.

LF4 for example if your gonna test it, then maybe say release a random ship into the game pool like a standard goliath with 10 or 15 lf4, with enough uridum to upgrade a couple of levels to see the effect difference and then they would be able to give you a correct amount of feedback,. not 4 million uridium so they can see how many gates they can do.

Please believe us that we are as disappointed and upset as you are when we find out that things did not go according to plan. just my opinion but take more time planning these updates test them properly and then release them, and possibly just aim the updates at both both types of player paying and non paying , in other words credit updates, this is why the game is so unbalanced.

It is our continued mission to move DarkOrbit away from being “pay to win” by making several features easier to be affordably accessible for our players. you haven't done this in the last couple of years I don't see it changing, you need to stop releasing payment items that have no use in the game and the silly prices that come with them, this is a game its not a future investment. your aiming every new release at the paying players even the cosmetic updates all aimed at paying players, no credit option at all, what the point in having a credit currency in the game if your not going to utalise it.We are running discounts so you have to pay less Uridium for e.g. ther it is the key word in this whole game, PAY , people aint playing because they cant afford to pay to play, but i dont think do are even gonna attemt to stop this surge in payment item at ridiculous prices, for no gain in the game, if it has no advantage whys it so expensive and why is it only aimed at players that can afford to buy uridium and not the players that rely on credits.creating Galaxy Gates or increase the return on your investment; its not an investment were doing here, were playing a''GAME'' if it was an investment, im pretty damm sure i would put alot more money into this game.we have added the assembly to make certain items accessible through game play (with permanent recipes) this is what makes me laught, and im serious when I say this, I don't know who thought about the items to put into the assembly, but all the items are pointless because you can get them on trade a lot easier and a lot cheaper, the only things worth being on there are the pet and the emp, the rest is just silly to be on there. come on seriously have a look and think about it. alone; we are working on concepts to solve the population issues, to address requests for features that are important to our players and to the future-proofing of the game. I have seen loads of excellent ideas being posted in the ideas and updates section, but do aint listening to any of them, I personally don't even think you guys look.

What we are doing right now is to fix bugs and coordinate our compensation efforts before adding more functionality to the game. do yourselfs and the remaining players in do a favour and just stop for a year or so with all the updates and fix all the ones you've already released, Also we are improving and extending our tool-set so that scheduling errors, like we saw in the past weeks, are less likely to happen.

All in all we want you to know that we are not deliberately trying to make your game experience worse, umm, well you've destroyed mine, I don't even like playing this game anymore its just to expensive and you've become greedy with all of the pay to play items. but exactly the opposite all you need to do is balance the game out with the uridium and credit options in the game– it’s a result of us trying to improve the game and repeatedly stumbling across hurdles built years ago that we just now come across. I personally think someone just got money hungry and forgot about the players that cant pay to play.

my honest opinion I cant see do changing, this is now a money based game and if you cant pay for items its simple you wont get them, but I hold my faith in this game, but I don't know for how long, I can see myself saying goodbye to dark orbit.

We are really, really sorry for all these issues, and we hope to continue having you on board for many future years of DarkOrbit to come.

I know theres players that have played for longer hours and more years but, I have learned a lot from the players of do and I am thankfull for that. but my future on this is slowly disapeering as im losing interest in playing in a game that's so overrun with payable items and greed. who know what the coming months will bring.

  2. Maybe if they added a Credit to Uridium option you might be happy. You sell Uridium purchased items and get 2.5 times the Uridium in credits maybe give us the option to sell for Uridium instead of credits (1/2 purchase price, ie LF-3 sells for 25K Credits or 5K Uridium) or 5 credits = 1 Uridium having a maximum purchase/sell of 200,000 Uridium a day. This would allow us to sell our cargo for either Credits or Uridium also, thus making the Uridium priced items able to be purchased with Credits in a round about way.

Let's do a honest talk now.

In the recent 1-2 years, this game changed A LOT. And it changed for good. Just start new account, and try it for yourself. You can get FE much faster then ever before. New player missions give lots of uridium, equipment, credits that you can use to get everything from auction, while keeping the uridium for exclusive items.
The new Crafting system makes things even much easier.

So, I support BP & DO on what they are doing. Whoever says that the game is worse, it is a big lie.
    Sorry.

  4. That's true, but IMO FE is a little "useless" and not funny as being UFE. And I will need much time for reaching UFE.

Mhh...some members of team Darkorbit have read the threads and responded. Maybe they are not good enough for programming these ideas.

  5. I am not sure if it is better. There have been some great things come out but also a lot that just makes you want to log. This is on both sides of the fence, ie dev and players. In the past year, there has been tons of events, with even more in the past few months. Its came to a head now as an embarrassing blow to the dev's right after the takeover. Lets keep in mind that with company change-over's there is often a rush of new things that happen. This is to impress the new bosses and to implement what the new bosses would like to see happen. Now we are more at a lull where the dev's figure out how to fix the issues that have came about. All this new gear they are selling is one thing. Its high priced to help the company over bigpoint get their money back faster. The false cheer on Twitch is mainly so the team can try to keep their jobs. Personally, I think one big event a quarter is enough. It gives time to plan, to write, to hopefully test, and to be available to watch what is happening when it come out and not after the weekend is over. The good thing is they have a lot of players that are passionate about the game to the point where we really just wish there was more we could do to make it better ourselves.

You are right too, but still. I remember back in the days how hard was to get FE. At least, when you are FE you can use your free time to do lots of gates and stuff, and you will get in the semi-UFE path faster then ever before. :)

  7. recent years lol, yes it has changed a lot. and NO it hasn't changed for the good, it has drove a lot of players away. I have multiple accs on multiple servers, im nearly ufe on gb1 and fe on gb2, and I play credit accs on cz server us server and global Europe, so I know how it is, and you can only go so far with credits. yes you may be able to get fe, but the 3.5 k hit average compared to ufe it like being a credit based player anyway so don't try and preach to me how easy it is about fe, I already know it makes no difference to the balance of the game.

player mission do not give a lot of uridium, I don't know what game your playing but I know the quest for new player reveiving 20 uridium a mission for fe players receiving thousand for easier quests.

the new crafting sytem does make anything easier its a waste of time unless you want the pet or a lot of emps, depending on the amount the npcs decide to drop, which isn't a lot.

you may support bp and do in what there doing because your one of the players probally pushing the play to win items. and im in disagreeance with you that this game isn't worse, I don't know when you started playing, but when this game was first started it was playable with a lot players teaming up and fighting other teams in worth while fights, stacking on ports incase one of those fe players jumped throught, these days it don't work like that its the opposite, do and bp have made it possible for the play to win players to reverse the roles, now we have to stack to defend against one or 2 players that are ufe in this game, its just gone off scrip.

so sorry to say its rubbish it not a lie, it is the truth and that is a ract regardless how much money you pound into the game.

Mhh...some members of team Darkorbit have read the threads and responded. Maybe they are not good enough for programming these ideas.[/QUOTE]

then they need to sack the devs and get new clever ones in, to do the job properly, but in all seriousness, if they cand design items if and when like gates and special items for paying players, im sure they can do it for credit players, but that's not the aim of this game it is the aim to push all non paying players out, so theres no atmosphere in do, its just a lot of wallet pounding gamers that are fighting for top spot. its daft.

Really? So level 10 PvP missions: kill 1 enemy with reward 1k uri, is nothing? :D

So PET is nothing? 50k uri saved is nothing? Free Surgeon crafting for couple of weeks is nothing, too?

I am playing from first version, so I know how it was like back in the days. And I know too, that is now easier to develop then before.

  9. im on my credit account now. I use it when im bored, the problem is with all this missions is when do you see any other ships apart from golis in this game, its not very often, and I know no credit equipped ship with a couple of lf4s aint gonna be able to kill any player at the state the games in at the min, especially new players, that struggle to make new player contacts, the only time youll see a big boy floating around if its being used as a bate ship and is probally ufe aswell so even if it is just a big boy, it'll still take some beating by a credit version player or even a fe player.

lets get realistice hardly or probally no one got the surgeon in the crafting. the drop rate for the craftabilitie side of things is way to low.

and I already stated that the pet and the emps where the only things worth crafting. the others aint, no matter how you put. there easier to get off trade.

so if its so easy to develop, why do they have no clue, this game is one sided, and im pretty sure itll remain like that, but its ashame because its not gonna attract new players, regardless of how many players are registered with bp and do, they aint playing this game, like I have and you probbally have, a lot of genuinely good or even great players have just packed up and left the game because of the direction its went, and that's saying something. all these updates are pointless and way way overpriced for what they are, don't you see that, yes you may enjoy using your hard earned money on this game, I also use money but now ive got to the point of realising that paying thousands into the game every year is pointless for items that don't add no advantage. they might aswell be credit items if they add no effect.'' do understand where im trying to come from with this thread, its not about complaing and saying how unfair everything is, theres just no balance to this game and that's what is destroying it. but what is even more devastating that the developers are saying that they understand, but they don't, very soon and a couple of months down the line there just gonna realease more play to win items or item only paying players can afford leaving out the free player that rely on credits.

im sorry to say but this game in not in favour of keeping players that don't pay. fact.

  10. At level 10, to kill an enemy, I would not say its nothing, but its a wish and a prayer. It means you are a new player having to fly into enemy space, hoping you don't run into a veteran player, that will take a moment to stitch up the side of the ship from laughing at the sight of you and then drop the most powerful ammo located in the arsenal to send you back to where you come from. So is it nothing, no. By the time you actually get to a target that you might be able to use for the mission, its less than nothing. This may not be the same on all servers. I don't play global but on us/gb servers going to do pvp at level 10 is not even smart. You don't have the equipment for it unless you were spoon fed credits from a clan and spent the first month just in doing the auction non-stop, or pulled out a card and bought the equipment. I see new players all the time with less than 100 hours flying around in skill designs in my company and then the fools come attack me and get chased away because they still are not ready. That 1k of uri, is laughable for being so sad of an idea to get a new player to risk all for 15+ tries...

The OP did say the PET is good, though I don't see it. You almost need a pet to help you get the material for a pet. You need the pet to pick it up so you can go shoot other stuff and keep moving. And the Surgeon? Put everyone just about in a feeding frenzy. Most got it after spending cash/uri in shop buying the material needed before the last weekend was over. Even more are hoping the recipe comes out again soon as they missed the weekend the material went on sale and therefore the chance of a lifetime. So more frustration there for players who have now spent to get something they could not get otherwise.

No one said that you have to FINISH the mission on level 10. You can complete whenever you want, still get the same reward.

  12. The few that did actually assemble it are FE+ (almost UFE) ships that were able to kill everything in 4-5 and not have to worry about being attacked by enemy players. These were the lucky ones to be able to craft a Surgeon during the event. Most of the Surgeons you see are purchased during a Special Weekend and were a bonus reward for buying 330,000 Uridium and most waited for MHH and got triple plus the bonus gifts.
Yes you do need the PET to collect but as the OP was saying it is about the only Useful item to be crafted, if you did not already have it. D O really needs to re-think the Assembly System and the way the Ores are dropped, with the quantities they want us to collect they need to make every NPC drop the Ore and have it attached to the normal Cargo Drop, not a special drop removing the normal cargo from the game.
What use is a mission that can not be completed at the level it is available? You brought up how good the Uridium was from it but then you respond back that it is something that is completed at a higher level which thus supports the OP's statement that the Quests that CAN be completed do not pay crud for Uridium. Yes all of the PvP quests give larger amounts of Uridium as they require much more ammo and are not guaranteed kills like the NPC's (unless attacked by enemy player or too weak for what you attacked).

  13. While true, its implied with it being a level 10 mission. The caps word is a nice touch, doesn't help but still nice.

With me running around in my bigboy, which is my main ship on this account (see profile), I don't see trying to go do a pvp mission and I am level 16. Mind you, I do have some pvp kills under my belt (goli, leo, bigboy) its not something I went after, and have not clicked a mission for it as yet. I basically represent what a level 10 players shoots with. Most level 10 to 16 players have much more equipment, not to mention higher level than I do. I still find it basically insane that they start the pvp missions off so early. They should start off in the narrative with See how far into enemy territory you can get before the UFE flips you out with the lastest and greatest of ease.

I gave the OP credit for saying that also.

  14. I actually carry a Generic PvP quest for the off chance I am lucky enough to defend myself to a kill. I have actually completed up to the "Kill 5 Enemy Players" on us2 account. But like you I do not go Hunting to complete these Quests.
