[SC] new mission exploit

I logged on today to find [eople had been banned over 3000 players for this reason
We have identified a live exploit that allowed a certain mission to be repeated an unlimited amount of times. This has allowed some players to gather enough resources to already craft some of the new ships. In this case, we are able to easily identify all players that have taken advantage of this exploit. Any player that has used this exploit will face the following punishment:
·Removal of any ships crafted using the exploit
·Removal of all Indoctrine Oil using the exploit
·7 Day suspension of player account
·Removal of 25% of Honor and Experience points
We will be going live with an update shortly to remove the possibility of using this exploit, and we have already removed the ships from the assembly for the time being. Please understand that abusing any exploit is against our terms and conditions, and will not be tolerated. We apologize to any players that have been adversely affected by those that chose to take advantage.

the problem with this is it was not seen as an exploit by a lot of players the reason is
1 of the missions to go to the 3,4 map and other to a zone on each map was not working after completing this mission it didn't complete as this mission was broke
2 the next mission was the one that darkorbit say was exploited in refaction zone for get the new oil .......after doing this mission an completing it the mission appeared again

the problem is people just thought to carry on doing the missions as no new one came up to do in the mission window ..the only missions where the 1 the was broke and would not complete and the 1 where when you do it .it just came back on the mission page to do again .. darkorbit did not say anything on forums or on discord for hour by this time it was already too late as people just thought that's what thay had too do and it was not an exploit

darkorbit only posted hours later unless darkorbit sort this out an unban the 3000 players that got punished for this but didn't know any better I'm hearing lots of player quitting over this and also recalling all payments make to darkorbit

thay realy need to think about this banning players fast before it too late
myself I did not carry on doing this mission as I had to go out but I would of if I was not of out shopping an would have been banned myself . they really need to think about this action more

 

I Totally agree they need to re think about banning all these players, I also thought that the quest was meant to be repeated, i though that was the way of gaining oil for the new ships, and when i tried to accept any other quest it would not complete, I have been banned for this and i only repeated the quest 4 times, Its completely ridiculous that bigpoint make and error and we are punished for it.

Also they did not say exactly how the even was supposed to be played, there was no
obvious instructions on how todo the event.

 

Well. For me it is pretty simple. Yes the players were greedy and got a ship very quick. But the BUG is DO fault.

So we should find the middle ground. Of course take the ships of all those players. That is understandable.
Ban for 7 days is harsh. Just because they could play and try to get that ship again.

For me it is a strange situation. But I did not exploit it. So fffeeeewwwww...

But solution should be just take everything they got today. And forget about it.

 

they did not just ban these players for 7 days they took 25% honor and ep.

 

okay fairs fair ...come on darkorbit today i logged in expecting great things from the hitac after being late to start the event as i hold a job .
i found instead of great things being said good rewards and players online bringing life to dying servers but instead the great hitac event is going to be known for when players did a quest within the first few hours of them being online which repeated itself and could be redone ..luckily i was not able to log on and do such quest ...or i would have ..well after logging on to find people have received

now the 7 day bann i think extreme and the 25 percent of both honour and ep must of taking some of these players years to build up i do feel sorry for them removal of things gained from the event would of been fair enough ...but i think this is a high price for these players to face even when people using certain things receive a warning then banns ...where was the warning to these players ....
i am unwilling to do the quest within your quest page as now im scared that if i do and something goes wrong i will lose years worth of work.
If that had happened to me i would tbh quite the game for good i think that we are lucky to have these players and its a bit harsh and my heart goes out to them and they are the people who love your game the ones one first trying your quests and the ones who are online waiting for events to start are these really the players who need banning sorry d.o i agree with keeping the game clean but this is harsh ...

I total agree with you I did not myself have time today to do the mission but would of been banned as I would of just thought that's the way you had to do it to get the new ships .darkorbit should realy think about the banning just take the ships back and not tale the ep an honer off people ..also thay should put the other parts used to build the ships back on everyones accounts ..this is very wrong of them to strait out bann and take ep an honer off everyone we will not have anyone left playing if this is not sorted out fast

 

What a bunch of B. Anyone that plays regular KNOW that the idea of the new ships was that it would take awhile to build them.
Thus those with $kill would not have them in the first few hours......
How many times ever has there been a quest that can be done over and over and over to make it easy to get something?
Really, they got caught with their hand(s) in the cookie jar and got what they deserve.

I think that anyone who knowingly takes advantage of an exploit should be banned, and, not just for 7 days. I also believe that anyone that was banned today for this exploit, that has been banned in the past for using other exploits, should be banned permanently. I do believe that all ep earned while using today's exploit should be removed.

 

Shorten the bans (they cant be made fools by unbanning!), remove all oil and ships. These people have lost a lot of xp and honour considering such little gained from this so called expoit , leave it alone !!!!

 

So what about players that are new to the game and don't understand the way the game ethics usually works, so you accept a quest as the
description says, you complete it, but it does not give you any reward, so you then cancel that quest and do the other quest that is available, you complete that quest and you receive a reward, you then go back to your nix to find only to be the same 2 quest there, the one which you did and did not receive any reward, and the one that you may have just completed, so you put back on the quest and receive the reward again, It says that this is the materials for the new ship so you carry on doing what you think are meant todo, did dark orbit give any information on how to do this event, no they did not. So how would these players know any different, it does not specify on how to do the events. I feel for these banned players why should the customers be punished for the designers mistakes.

 

I also disagree with these banns, Bigpoints mistakes cannot reflect on the players.

I haven't done a mission of any kind in just over a year. I come here daily but do not trust the devs or admins.

It's so easy to point a finger and say you've done something wrong. Next time they point a finger I hope it's into the mirror.

I am sad for these dedicated players who have continued to support this game. The punishment is by far too harsh and to quick.

Now if they where to take control and start banning all these bots I would be a happy camper.

Kind of happy now I haven't participated in many of the "new" things. Keep it old school I say

I was thinking should i keep playing this game or not but today when i try to join my main and i see i get banned,well i know now that i wont be playing this game anymore.And for this 25% xp and honor well after 7 days there will be event for 50% xp and honor boosters and also double reward gates for sure

 

Had DO not imposed a sanction for using the exploit the forum would have been flooded with posts about it being unfair that those who have gained an advantage were allowed to keep the rewards gained, as the situation is DO have handed out the minimum punishment for using an exploit. The T&G's clearly state that using bugs and exploits is not allowed and all bugs and exploits should be reported and with there being many ways to report bugs and exploits via the forum, discord, support and the DO Facebook page, ignorance is a very thin excuse to claim innocence and had the FaQ's been studied correctly all those repeating the mission would have know it was bugged and could be exploited but rather than report it took advantage of it and in definition had cheated.

This admin might aswell of just ignored everything we said, BECAUSE WE HAVE ALREADY STATED 5 TIMES THAT NO1 KNEW HOW TODO THE EVENT BECAUSE U DIDENT EXPLAIN IT TO US
EVERYONE WHO WAS DOING THE MISSION THOUGHT IT WAS THE GENUINE WAY ON HOW TO GET OIL

but seeing as bigpoint have just made over 3k players quit, its like there driving people off the game on purpose.

 

Hello,
I registered this game about 2 months ago. How do I know that event quest was not a repeatable quest?
Some people say it was stated at forum. Are people who didn't look for forum supposed to get ban?

Also, I think nobady didn't do this quest by knowing it was a bugged quest and saying ''Oh, I found a bugged quest, let me exploit it. Nobady wont think to look my logbook and wont be able to ban me.

 

Daily and Weekly missions are available for the day or week they appear and once completed will not regenerate until the weekly or daily mission cycle is complete and the cycle starts again. When a daily mission regenerates after you have completed it and can be done multiple times it is more than obvious there is a bug, also the FaQ states once per event and the excuse I did not know holds no water as once means one time only.

This event will introduce new daily, weekly, and once per event missions that are suited to all player levels. The missions are chained, which means they must be completed in succession. They are also broken down into 3 level categories, giving you the power to choose your path!
