FaQ's are posted for a very good reason and that is to inform players, if a player decides not to read the FaQ's or news letters they do so at there own risk. Before any event it is well advised to read the FaQ's/News letter to avoid any miss conception of rules for the event.

  3. They do ban botters if you watch the forums but problem is they have to catch them first. And these players were caught abusing a bug it's as simple as that. They should be thankful they are not banning their accounts all together. Enjoy

    Hello,

As far as bots or other illegal programs verses exploits go, it's quite simple: when the people cheating with programs are detected, their accounts will be terminated. There's no second chance, there's no questions asked, the account is banned permanently. Does it take time? yes. It's not going to make anyone happier, but here with this bug, exploiters have another chance. When the detection system gets the kick it needs to catch the people using programs, those people won't have another chance.

Either way, cheating is cheating whether you're using an illegal program, or going to town exploiting a bug.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, if DO had done nothing, or even only removed the ships & oils we all would be hearing right now how it "wasn't enough", how DO does "nothing to punish bug users". You can't have it both ways.

DO talked weeks ago about how the way the event & ships were set up we would be able to build one of the three new ships by the end; the FAQ details new daily, weekly and one-off event missions, the information is "out there" as it were. All of that aside from doing the same one quest several times, compared to all others being one offs?

Could this all have been avoided if the bug didn't exist in the first place? Sure. But exploiting bugs is still against the rules, and whether you're actually reading them or not, that first warning is there the moment we click "I agree to the Terms & Conditions".

The fact remains there are people, whether through sheer exploitation or naivety, who went above and beyond and these are the consequences that have been handed down from DO.

If anything changes with how this has been handled, or if DO wants to put out any additional word or information, then we'll update here in the forum but beyond that there really isn't much more to be said here. The ban is for seven days, and that (as well as the rest of the stipulations) isn't something we, or support, can change.

For now I'll leave this open but to be clear as a warning, if it's going to dissolve into flaming of anyone or otherwise going off rails we will have to close it up. Whether or not you agree with DO's decision, it is ultimately their decision.

    Regards,

LOL nobody quit. The ones that new its a bug will 100% be back. They Love DO and a bit of a moan. So all is fine.

The ones that genuine just started o did not know. Will be really few. And if they really had a good excuse they can always go to support.

I think all is fine. At least it shows that you can get banned.

But the Bots and other cheats would be lovely to catch too. And BAN for 7 YEARS :)

I think DO done a perfectly good thing in making punishments. How can people learn otherwise?

  6. mate its not simple as that they can ban someone easy by checking logs like they did with this event so why cant they do that on a normal day woth bots hmmmmmm they dont want tooo yeh i see bans for botting posted by mods on here in announcements but are they really real hmmm

i aggree kinda but really lol.. you lot said people would be banned for proxium bug yet the people with 3.4m rsb was not banned and had nothing removed where is the justice in that

DO handled it how they handled it, that's beyond us. Bans were issued, items were another story. Proxium bug went on a while, oils was shut down day one, rather limits the window of how much oil was obtained through other means vs what someone had before (0).

As for bot ban announcements, it's the exact number we get from DO every time they get posted. Just because we post them doesn't mean they're less real, we're just the messenger and we post to make sure people know.

Read FAQ, if u don't read it, its ur problem.

    Read FAQ

    EX:

You go to another country, and they have different laws compared to your country, you do something that is legal in you country, but illegal on their country, DO YOU THINK THEY WILL LET YOU GO WITH JUST A "I DIDN'T KNOW"

Non knowledge of rules does NOT mean you can break them, and getting away freely.

  9. How can bigpoint treat someone who done the mission twice and someone who done the mission 90 times the same?, Its stupid and doesnt make any sense as usual, The event is rubbish, only useful for scrap. games a joke, live stream's full of lies and support treat paying customers like criminals. Bloody joke!!!

@Solid_Eye its so simple 10 years later you still have the same problem and refuse to check maps for bots. :p just saying

You should read more threads about this. Do not say that someone did it 2 times and got banned.
    Check the facts first.

    It's more than twice
& As for problems with bots, I'm guessing you're not terribly familiar with how that all goes. Put simply, bot problems ebb and flow & hardly just in DO. Regardless, this thread pertains to the exploit, if you want to read about bots and such I'd recommend the Bots & Cheats thread here in speakers corner, you can read through that.

Guys please keep it in the subject and not about bots Thanks ;) and again I still think the bans where too harsh in this case ..darkorbit should of just taken the ships off them not the ep an honor ,this is just over the top in this case simple reason quests where broke the 1 mission before the 1 that was done over and over again would not complete even when you went to where it said ...so the people did the next mission which was the one that was done over and over again ,,the reason was because that was the only mission that was in the list too do .so people just thought it must be the way to get oil for the ship ..I have spoke too a lot of people today on teamspeak and other game chat services and there's a lot of people saying they- are quitting for good also loads of people saying they are going to recall all payments because of a unfair grab an ban by darkorbit ..this really needs sorting out fast before the 3000 people they banned quit for good //again this ban needs a rethink ..again I didn't do the quest over and over again as I had to go out shopping but I tell you this I would of done the same thinking that's how it should be done to get all the oil an I too would of been banned

  13. 3000 Eh you talked to all of them and their gonna quit lol for starters it's only xp and honor and that's rank, it doesn't do anything for your experience as a player. Maybe next time they will read a bit more on the Event and maybe the would have realized it should be impossible to gain enough oil for a ship in a couple hours. They will stay and play don't kid yourself.

people are not staying at all loads are never coming back ..all top ranked players aswell on gb1 .I do remember darkorbit saying everyone will be able to get 1 of the new ships by the end of this event ..and I carnet see anyone getting the oil and stuff need by the end of this event so another promise broke unless thay give everyone -the option in a quest or a calendar when they login to choice just 1 ship time will tell if not then they lied again on twitch on discord facebook an forums

The event FAQ says daily, weekly and once per event missions. Could it be construed that one of those "once per event" might have been intended to be a "repeatable" mission?

While the game normally does not have those, newer players would not necessarily know that and because the mission kept up again and again, they felt that was the way it was supposed to be.

If only newer players had done it, it might have been another story.

But there's people who have been playing for several years, leveled 20+ - not to mention people create new or multiple accounts & start over - so there's not really much of a line to be drawn there.

  18. some people still have the crafted ships yoo, bahahaha well done BP
