[SC] NO PVP OPTION

  1. I'm sure a lot of people can agree with me on this. I am sick and tired of these pros and full elites ect ect killing newbs and noobs!! It's annoying, aggravating, frustrating, and it demotes the fun aspect of this game. It's also down right shameful and dishonorable that these full elites will kill the newbs and noobs! I would LOVE a cpu or something that turns PVP mode off! "kill or be killed" more like "be killed and have the ability to do nothing back". Please fix the unbalanced PVP in this game! I am speaking on behalf of all the newcomers who want to grow without having some supped up full elite popping them where ever they go!

    I do totally understand you. I was shot a lot of times too, but as I got equipment and some pilot points, now I am not shot that much because it becomes harder for enemies to shoot me down too.

    As a fun fact though, you can always escape the fight (almost always) if you practice laying slow mines down while someone is hunting you. If you slow them, be sure they won't kill you :) And yeah, it's a PvP game, so I don't like that option to turn PvP off. I am noob too, but I don't agree with it, cause I enjoy the PvP module in this game.

    This is PvP game but also unbalanced lvl 20 UFE goli v lvl 6 pirahna is no real contest, If a player is willing to pay for a protection chip this would put some more money back into the game. There would also have to be limits to such a chip such as you can only buy it once and the protection would only last as long as you stay passive and not attack other players also a level limit so as soon as you reach a certain level it becomes void and restrict it to the x1-x4 maps once you leave your home maps in the lowers it becomes void so to avoid abuse and useing it to hunt bigger NPC's in the uppers. We are desprate for new players to join the game and stay with it this might encourage much needed growth.

  5. Well considering I've played for about a week. I have had enough with a game designed on unfair and unbalanced PVP. At lvl 13 I am no where near able to defend myself from the Full Elites even with slow mines and EMPs because they are still able to outrun and kill me. I came to realize this game is not meant for me and I have decided to quit playing. I would rather spend my time and money on a game that doesn't allow high powerful players to kill those who are new and can't fight back against them. In my opinion it takes too long to grow and it's too frustrating to be a "snack" to the powerful players. What makes this point worse is they especially target the newcomers when they're doing quests or grinding NPCs.

  7. Your right, they do target new players to complete their missions, but also shoot each other. All players pop, at all levels. Look at the top of the top 10. They have all popped by people below the top 10. Even by those below the top 100.

    I am not going to list my playing time here, but I do play daily, 1 hour minimum.
     
  8. I have a better idea for this. For a UFE to attack anyone in the lower maps x-1 to x-4 the lower level player has to attack them first. This would FORCE these players to attack those in the upper maps ONLY. The only exception would be a UFE attacking a ship of the same level in the lowers (E.G. level 20 player flying in the lowers protecting the NEWBS can be attacked by a UFE of equal or lower level) but there would be a message for BOTH attacking and attacked players about they have been attacked by a level "x" player. This would give the protection to the NEWBS doing quests in the lowers and allow them to also get PvP practice on NEWBS attacking them making the fight a FAIR fight instead of a massacre as we have now. We might even get more protection in the lowers as there might be more people playing in x-3 and x-4 instead of just flying in x-2 because they are tired of being popped every time they leave x-2. Even if the NEWB has attacked an enemy player he can not be attacked by an UFE player so the NEWB enemies can not get support from UFE enemies to get kills on other NEWB players. The advantage would be 2 or 3 NEWB enemies attacking 1 NEWB player but then he could take evasive measures and get away from them or be strong enough to take out some of them before he died.
    Try playing for 4-5 years and getting popped every time you turn around. It is harder now as there are not as many people in the maps as there used to be and the Jump Chip allows people to enter maps without using the Portals so you can not defend the maps by setting up a blockade at the entry portals. But it has been fun to play when the UFE's are busy in the gates or playing in the upper maps.
    The protection chip would only be good for lower maps and should not be used above level 15 but should be active as long as they are not level 15 but allow them to go to uppers to do quests just not under the protection. But I still stand on my suggestion over this.
    The PvP portion of the game is fine and for those who like it they can attack the stronger players if they want, but it should be the NEWBS choice not being blind sided by a UFE that hits you twice and your shields are gone and twice more and you are poofed. Protecting the enjoyment of the game for NEWBS is the only way they are going to stay. At least when I joined we could see being equal to the veterans by building our ship. Now there is no way a player can become UFE without spending a ton of money on the game and that just is not right. Where a Free2Play player has no possibility of getting LF-4's the game has become unsatisfying for a NEWB to continue to play.

    but dont you also get a shot point for helping some kill an enemy, like even if you dont get the kill you get a player shot point? so where does it just say YOUR KILLS not shared kills.
     
  10. On your home page click hall of fame then in the drop down menu on right side click ships destroyed. The hard part is scrolling through to find your name.

  12. I find it funny on USA West there are 9967 players in the ranking and only 3720 have any ship kills, there are just 2006 with more than 100 ship kills. Either these accounts are all NEW accounts or it shows how lopsided the PvP contest has really become with the UFE ships out there.
     
  13. I just looked at mine I have 6 kills in my player ranking and ZERO friendly kills but have credit for 9 kills in this list. I don't remember being involved in a multiple v 1 kills so can someone tell me where the other 3 came from? YES I am a NOOB 151 days since registration and 101 hours of play time on USA West BUT have FE Goliath minus BIO.

    Of course I am averaging OVER 1/2 "Killed By Enemies" a day sitting at 77, and almost 1 kill per hour played, If I had not spent so much time sitting on the NYX (working on a FAQ thread) when I started the averages would be a lot higher.

    I would agree with the need of the PROTECTION in the "HOME" maps for the improvement of NEWBS. This "protection" would be similar to UBA matching so you could only attack players of the same level/strength as you or higher, AGAIN YOU could only attack HIGHER, not the higher could attack you (unless you attacked them first). I have watched the game for a few years and remember when the maps had FE players protecting the NEWBS but with the introduction of the UFE player these protectors seem to have disappeared and leave the NEWBS to try to defend themselves from UFE enemy attackers. When we (NEWBS) had a chance to become strong enough to defend ourselves (Play for FREE FE) we saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Now, when the only way to become UFE, is with an INVESTMENT in the GAME of actual CASH the structure of PvP has to be renovated also. Force the UFE to stay in the uppers to do their hunting and let the FE Play for Free players have their fun in the lowers. This or separate the Free Play from the WALLET play as they are 2 completely different strategy games.

    I have watched people dump hundreds of dollars trying to get UFE equipment and get JACK in return for their efforts/dollar (LF-4 day, Ultra Booty Days, and Zeus day) and collected regular FE gear versus the UFE goodies they were supposed to be able to get. So either the Chance generator is broken or D O has markers for which account they will allow to become UFE or a SPEND threshold that you have to cross before they give you the CHANCE they say is RANDOM.

  14. There is ample protection now. There was a time when there was no corporate protection and x1 was fair game. If you really want to shoot stuff without being killed you can
    1) stay in x1. At a certain point you won't advance in the game, but you can kill as many streuners as you want
    2) stay in x2 and make sure you are near the portal. As soon as you see the bar, run to port
    3) do gates. You'll probably need to drop some cash unless you box in x1 for a year before you shoot anything.
    4) do the LoW gate. Unfortunately, you need a group to do this. I don't know many people in chat that say "hey want to do the LoW gate". This is a bit off topic, but it would be great if you could enter the LoW by yourself. If someone wants to join in, they can join your group and jump into your LoW gate.

    Personally, it's a bit irritating when there is an enemy in my maps and then it says "under corporate protection". Once you go into enemy maps, protection should be gone, regardless of level or time spent on game.

    I would be fine with a limited duration warning bar, like in x2, only based on level. It only works on your company maps. If you go into 4x or 5x you should not expect any kind of protection other than what you can muster up in a group or clan.

    So... under level 8, you get an x2 type warning bar in your x3 and x4. Once your hit level 8, it's gone.
    under level 11, you get the warning bar in your x5.
    under level 12, you get the warning bar in your x6 and x7
    under level 13, you get the warning bar in your x8

    No one should be able to just go about their day boxing and killing npcs without the threat of other players, but I'm fine with giving them a little warning for the first time they can make it into one of their own maps.

    I think for most people, the above makes sense, so it'll never happen - but one can dream.
     
  15. How many of those accts are noob accts that the user forgot password or just doesnt play anymore? I know I have more than 1 acct on USA West, but rarely do I play 2 of them.

  17. Well either you have not done much on the NEW Forum or you are a FAKE C O B. This being said the warning bar is useless and is not the protection we are looking for. We are trying to increase our abilities, but want to be in PvP fights that are a FAIR fight that we might be able to win. Going up against the REAL C O B as a NEWB is just suicide and we can not even get to the portal before he pops us, even if we are close to them. We need to be able to defend ourselves and there is no defense for a NEWB against a UFE pilot.
     
  18. would be kinda cool if only way to get to enemy company's is through their 8 map you have to travel all the maps 8764321 to get to the enemy one maps would help the noobs it would be a long trip to hunt the lower lvls and you could still use jump chip in your own maps so getting help wouldn't be that hard it would also define territory as the deeper in enemy space you go yes there is easy kills but your chance of escaping gets lower too. i know in order to do something like this the whole map system would have to change but imagine the battle map if 4-1,4-2,4-3 was linked to everyone's 8 map and in order to get to uber map you got to go through 4-1 and 4-4 to get to 4-5 and the pirate maps this would bring back hunting like in the old days before the jump credits and help noobs in the lower maps

    this would help the new player out would stop enemy's from being able to jump into our maps witch i still don't see why DO would let that from the get go UFEs can still hunt noobs just got to travel all the way to noob country or face more capable pilots

  20. Without the FREE player there would be NO activity in the maps and the wallets would really be crying then.
