  1. Having not gone hunting since the pvp quests broke, i finally fancied a wander round the enemy maps despite not being able to contribute to my pvp quests.

To my surprise there there was a large number of beginners in the maps. Which got me thinking, are DO purposely not fixing the pvp quests so that players like me dont hunt as much and this gives beginners in the game a chance to progress without being popped all the time?

Of course there are players who still regularly hunt despite the pvp quests being broken, but there also be alot of players who are focusing on completing the pve quests while the pvp quests are being fixed and thus spending less time hunting.

Just wondered if others players thought also that this could be a reason why it is taking so long to fix the pvp quest?

    Hello,

For what it's worth, I don't think that's quite the intent so much as they may have had to reinvent the wheel a little bit...

PvP in quests broke when they changed the ships/hanger system. Before we identified all sorts of ships under goliath for example, whereas now they aren't all necessarily recognized strictly as golis

If it helps, this is a bit of what I'm trying to say:
    Before we had
    • Goliath
      • Venom
      • Sentinel
      • Solace
      • Spectrum
      • Diminisher
      • Surgeon
      • Centaur
      • Amber
      • Sapphire
      • Enforcer
      • (etc...)
Whereas it's split it up more now
    • Goliath
      • Amber
      • Sapphire
      • Iron
      • Jade
    • G-Surgeon
    • G-Centaur
    • Venom
    • Sentinel
    • Solace
    • Spectrum
    • Diminsher
    • (etc..)

That's by no means a complete listing, but it's how the system identified the ships which ultimately affected the quests. We could all blow up 20 venoms and it counted towards our goli kills. The Venom came into it's own, and now the quest/system doesn't see "goli" so much as it just sees "venom".

    I hope that makes sense^^
Anyway, I think that's [at least in part] why it's taking so long to resolve (or even change?) the quests so PvP quests can be more readily completed in the manner we expect after it being the way it was for so long.

altho, if more are taking the time to help build noobs up instead of smash them into the abyss, I wouldn't necessarily call that a bad thing. More pilots with more experience & stronger ships means more competition and a little more fun:D

    regards,
