[SC] Offensive Event

Why does DO announce celebration of Islamic Events by name? i.e Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, on a US based server. Yet for Christian Holidays like Easter and Christmas, DO refers to them as Spring and Winter Events. The United States is a Christian Country not Islamic. IF DO wishes to celebrate these events on servers that are in Muslim countries that is great. It is, however, offensive to many players to announce an event, based on an Islamic holiday, on a US server.

This on the heals of a Failed US holiday Celebration where we were supposed to be able to show our Patriotism by buying the Independence Design and could not. I agree why are we celebrating an Islamic Holiday and can not celebrate our own holidays properly?!?!?!

Because it's the only name for this events and we have another calender type for this events so it will change every year can't be at one semester. Please don't feel offended I wish that i can suggest another name for bigpoint to use it so no one feel offended.

I'm offended that Bigpoint have done an Independence Day for Americans but not for Britains Independence from the EU.

I'm appauled by this and deeply offended.

If America can celebrate their independence from Britain then why can't Britain celebrate their independence from the EU?

 

How about cause it will take years for Britain to even implement their Independence from the UE so maybe by then DO will give you what you need. You really can't believe that DO just snaps their fingers and out comes a new event. Enjoy

There are numerous holidays throughout the year all throughout the world. This one is part of the Sugar Feast festivities which is celebrated throughout different cultures and religions in their own ways. Regardless, there are those who celebrate Islamic holidays in the US so it's not like it's not celebrated here by no one at all.

As far as the events through December go; there are several holidays that month alone, not to mention DarkOrbit's birthday. So having a broad name which can be shared for all of it isn't all that far out.

Independence day in the US is a national holiday; the UK only just had their vote to leave the EU. It hasn't happened yet and it isn't a holiday yet, whether or not some might feel or treat it as such. DO talked about how they have one or two regionally targetted events before and Independence day for the US is one of the events the US servers have. This is no different than GB servers having their own Guy Fawkes day.

Am closing this to prevent any more spam, flaming, racial or political issues here. Whether or not DO addresses holidays differently in the future based on how the current one is will ultimately be up to them.
