[SC] Origonal dark orbit?

    Okay, so I remember when I was younger there was another game called dark orbit from some website called wild tangent (Don't go there though, it has a LOT of really, REALLY bad viruses), anyway, the game was about you being stranded on this planet in a space ship, and you had to upgrade your ship while blowing stuff up. Anyway, it was a single player game, what's the story between that dark orbit and this one, did this game get it's name from that one? Are they related in any way? Also, who here even remembers that game?

    Hello Varoid38,

    I'm not very familiar with the game but, yes, I remember a game before this one associated with Wild-tangent.

    The above picture is one of a few screenshots from the original game, however the name in general may have been bought out by Bigpoint and evolved into what we have today (this I am only assuming).

    However from time to time when bringing up the home page for Darkorbit there is some times a yellow emblem above the Pusat design reading Wild-tangent.

    the one in 2003 ? they closed that game ,and then made this one in december of 2006

    Darkorbit used to be owned by wild Tangent games.

    there was another game called darkorbit in the early 2000's where you go around and just shoot things. However that game no longer exists.

    i used to think i somehow added darkorbit to the wild tangent window lmao cos i dont remember it being there :D

    Yeah, I had that game and loved it. It came as a free to start playing game on a new computer, and I bought the key for all levels. Activation code got disabled eventually and it was my understanding that WT sold it to BP or something. When I tried to find it again, this version came up. I miss playing the old one, even though it wasn't an PvP/interactive one. Sort of like a Dark Orbit solitaire. :) It'd be cool if they added some planet-based adventures like that to this game, instead of just flying around in space.
